You know that moment where you make a character that a bunch of people really like, and then draw an angst piece of them the week of their birthday out of the benevolence of your own heart and that one kanae/Shinobu panel in the manga that I won't talk about further cause spoilers? Cause I sure do.
Anyways, the hair on both of them was quite the process, which is excusable for my guy Ryuji cause this is only the second time I drew him, but after the amount of times I've drawn my guy Ren you'd think it'd be second nature to me by now XD
but yeah the idea is that this piece is kind of a vision he sees in a near-death experience while battling Gyutaro/Daki (but mostly Gyutaro, cause with him it's personal), and it might not have been exactly what he expected, but it was what he needed. Since it's a vision, I didn't draw the effects of the poison (and also, that's a lot of skill, and I'm not that mean to hurt you guys like that XD).
I should probably add that Ryuji was a lot kinder and less blunt than shown in this drawing, and I totally could delve deeper into the perception vs reality thing but otherwise I'd probably bore people half to death, so I'll leave you off here and you can comment if you want me to elaborate :)
