Okay first of all, hi hello yes I did use Kanao and Shinobu as bases, this only works if we're honest
Second of all, look at that it's the debut of the woman the myth the legend, cultivator of crystal breathing Izumi Masatane.
And third of all, yes I did wing it
Now that we have that out of the way, I thought that this scene really showed the dynamic that they have. Side note, why are demon slayer noses so heckin sharp, i had to improv them and it was a pain in the butt XD

I thought I'd make their hair somewhat similar—fun fact, this is my first time ever designing her—since they are kind of sister figures. I wonder if I should feature her in more drawings—you guys can let me know cause I'm an Indecisive Kanao Kinnie XD
Update from future Melody: here's a taisho secret!
Most of Maiyu's outfit—her hairpieces, cloak/pin, and socks/shoes were actually gifts from Izumi after taking her in, as she wasn't able to afford nice clothing like that before. She takes care not to damage them on missions.
