This drawing was definitely a test of my skill XD
That aside, as much as I struggled and as many tiny little adjustments and redraws I had to do before I got it it just right, I think the final product was worth it. This piece features my two lovely beans, Hanayo and Shizuku, as well as my friendo Ava's (the lovely and talented avaaviesflowergirl) lovely bean, Sakura!
In fact, it was inspired by one of her art pieces, so go take a look at that when you're done here :)
Honestly for each of these girls I struggled with a different aspect: for Hanayo it was her clothing, for Shizuku it was all that heckin hair I gave her, and Sakura it was her head and face that was giving me issues (no comment on how many time I redrew her eyes). I will say though, I love the way Sakura's hair came out—it's so fun and bouncy, I always love drawing it. Little taisho secret of my own, I use the same method for her hair that I do for Ren's: wavy swoops until I get it right.
I hope you don't mind that I had to take a little creative liberty with the bottom of her outfit, I kind of figured she'd be wearing a hakama of some sort since it would be easier to move in than a kimono, and the flowers were just a little extra touch because what's our iconic cherry blossom without some cherry blossoms? (Though if you don't like it, I'll take them out and redo whatever you wish!)
So, the idea of this is that Sakura and Shizuku had already kind of paired up when they meet Hanayo. However, it goes...less than ideally, as Hanayo would angrily reject both of them because she took the offer to team up as patronizing her (as she tended to do at the time).
Of course, little does she know the three of them will be close friends~
Shizuku of course is being Shizuku and is off in Lala Land, but when is she not?
