For those who've been reading my message board, first of all I'm sorry for the spam, and second of all, you probably know the mini-crisis I had trying to assign an EPIC/Odyssey character to everyone's favorite green bean. However, I have finally come to a consensus to have her portray the blind prophet, Tiresias!
Well, it was actually my original idea to have her portray him, but then I had a moment of overthinking where I was worried that it didn't suit her. I worked with some other ideas, but then after getting feedback from my sister, I returned back to this one :D
As for whyI picked him in the first place, well first of all I thought the aesthetic really suited her (we know how our girl loves flowy clothing), and second of all I also noted the idea of them both using specially-enhanced senses—his being the gift of premonition, and hers being highly-attuned other senses, particularly the sense of smell—to sort of work around not being able to see well (or in his case, at all). And finally, they're both more on the reserved side and generally have the vibe of "guys, this is a really bad idea- okay I guess you're doing it anyway alright ignore me-"
After all, I'm pretty sure it was Tiresias who was like "hey don't eat the cows" and the crew ate the cows anyways, so that's something XD
Alright I'm done getting sidetracked, time to move on to the artistic process!
So, I'd like to extend a special thank you to Kanao for giving me this much practice drawing cloaks, because that was one of the easier parts. In fact, the most difficult thing was probably the light tunnel behind her (which was my sister's idea), since I had to make it really precise in order to make sure it didn't cover the line work or actual drawing. I also added light coming from the gem in the middle which I personally think is a really fun touch.
Now I would put Tiresias's song above as an added reference, but unfortunately wattpad is being stupid and crashing every time I try, so I'll get back to you on that one.
