This was a complete impulse idea I got, thanks to the lovely avaaviesflowergirl's lovely drawing that can be found in her art book chapter "Spider Hashira/Smile" (if you want you can even see the moment where inspiration struck me as a bonus, though what more bonus could you need to such amazing art I ask?)
Anyways, it features two of her beans—Chimegami and Shukuhana, as well as my own bean Maiyu. None of them are really expressive people at all, but they slowly but surely learn how to listen to their hearts~
Now, this drawing process was...quite the process XD
For starters, Shukuhana my beloved, I kept messing up on her hairpiece colors, then her hairpiece patterns, and sometimes both before I finally got it right. Which is nothing on her and completely on me not screenshotting the gosh darn reference I was using, but I finally got it to come out okay.
Then came the battle of Maiyu's shoes. Well, her shoes weren't the problem. The problem was I was using a base, and the one for her had the feet flat on the ground, but due to her shortened tendons, she's often walking or standing on the balls of her feet. So I had to improv a little there.
Fun little fact: Maiyu gets embarrassed when she's not wearing her cloak, so this is actually another big step for her >.<
And then there was figuring out how to give the smiles a forced quality without tipping over the edge into "what the frick"
So yeah, clearly not my finest moment brain wise, but luckily I was able to fix all those little errors before I rage quit. If anyone wants to place their bets on just who was making these three do this, feel free XD
Honestly even with all of that, I'm proud of this piece. Hopefully it brings you joy!
