It feels like it's been a hot minute since I've been here, huh? Well, hello again and welcome back to the drawing series I promise I didn't abandon, this time featuring our favorite elusive daydreamer as Circe, the enchanting witch~
Honestly Circe is probably my favorite character in the Odyssey, probably because she's so unabashedly a menace and did all this for a "men are pigs" pun. Is it really shocking then that I picked Shizuku to portray her? Probably not, huh XD
Fun fact, I was originally going to give her Aphrodite since I thought she matched the more ruthless "let the man rot" side, but then heard one of Circe's songs and thought that the energy fit perfectly. I'm pretty glad that I went with this because I got to do cool magic effects :D (and I also got a break from drawing armor, my wrists are relieved)
Honestly I kinda winged it for the dress and hoped for the best. I don't think Circe wore purple, but I wanted to call back to Shizuku's design (the dress matches her cloak color :0), and the gold belt and arm cuffs help offer a nice contrast as well as hinting at Circe being the daughter of the sun god Helios :)
I hope you enjoyed my rendition, and I'll see you for the next one!
