4.5 hours, 7 sketches, 82272782 pose references, and just a couple hand cramps and near rage quits later, I can finally present to you ~my masterpiece~
This piece actually features two of my friendo avaaviesflowergirl's lovely characters, Kumosu and Yūhi! It's a follow up to her piece "New Crush Exposed?!?" In her art book, so go check that out after this because she's really heckin talented. These are part of a storyline we're working with, because what kind of benevolent writer would I be if I didn't give the kid with Crippling Anxiety some friendship and possibly probably love?
Fun fact/taisho secret: way back when I made a joking kind of headcanon that Ren's patients sometimes develop ~feelings~ for him (cause he's sweet and pReTtY and also I just thought it would be funny), but I didn't expect anyone to actually want to ship their characters with him (ie: I was scared that I'd get flamed for making him a Mary Sue/Gary Stu/whatever it's called XD). Clearly I thought wrong, but I guess this is just where the wind took me! :D
Now, I've drawn Kumosu in the past and I'm still in love with her color palette, but this was my first time drawing her newest bean Yūhi. I absolutely adore her design, even if it did give me quite the trial and error process trying to do her hair and her flower hairpiece XD
What's art without a little trial and error?
Besides, compared to trying to figure out a pose for Ren (as well as his hair, seriously why did I do this to myself I commend all friendos of mine who tried to draw him) amidst the sea of "grown man with abs" was...shall we say an adventure? My camera roll is currently filled to the brim with bases I may or may not use, as well as a random tanjiro picture that I thought would work until I realized that they have completely different facial structures and I just couldn't finagle it into something believable.

As for Yūhi and Kumosu, I actually used the same base and edited it/duplicated the layer—life hacks for my fellow digital artist friends! The legs were drawn by me, so kindly do me a solid and don't look too close—I'm still having trouble with legs for some reason XD
Now I really could go on about all the ways I struggled with this but I don't want to turn a wholesome piece into a rant session, so instead I shall go on about how Yūhi's hair reminds me a lot of Rapunzel—I could swear that she wore that hairstyle in the movie or at least something similar to it. Your character designs never cease to amaze me friendo!
I've said it a million times but I'll say it once more, I'm really looking forward to their future interactions. I'm so much of a sucker for "two flustered beans in love" that it's not even funny. I may be aroace but I still eat up the cute shoujo moments XD
