2 weeks later

Danny sat in the cafeteria, leaning on the table and sending an absolutely frigid glare across the way to Tucker, who was now cozied up with Kwan, girls at their beck and call.

His nose scrunched when Dash set a tray of food down in front of him. Just one whiff made him want to gag. "Still not feeling good?" Dash sat beside him. Danny shook his head and pushed the tray away. Dash frowned, "Maybe you should go to the nurse. You haven't felt good since this morning."

Danny shook his head, "I'm okay, really," he yawned. Sam sat down across from them, "You look like you didn't sleep at all last night," she commented.

Danny shrugged, "I didn't. Ghosts are going missing all over the place and I can't find a single one. Technus, Kitty, and Johny. Now I can't reach Skulker," he sighed, "Something's going on and I'm always two steps behind."

Dash rubbed his back, "We'll figure it out. For now, though, you need to take care of yourself," he offered the food again, but Danny shook his head.

Danny turned his attention to something else, that being his little sister flocked with little Sophomore boys. He smiled and shook his head, "You know, we look exactly alike. Tell me how she already has all these boys, and some girls I see, following after her like lost puppies and I couldn't get one person to look at me like that?"

Dash smiled, "I started looking at you Freshman year," he commented. Danny rolled his eyes, "Valerie keeps fondly calling us enemies to lovers."

"And I'll keep calling you that," Valerie sat by them with her food. "You can't tell me that's not what happened," she pointed a fork at him, "You two hated each other. Honestly, I'm curious what changed. You guys seemed kind of out of the blue. So spill. You two have some sort of secret friendship we didn't know about?"

Danny and Dash smiled at each other, "Something like that," Dash said. "He... found me in a low spot. I was failing, my parents were livid, and I was about to get booted off the football team. Instead of leaving me alone like I told him to, he stayed and offered to help me," he smiled.

"He and I studied together every day for probably a month," Danny continued, "When both our grades came up, we stopped," he shrugged.

"The damage was already done," Dash laughed, "Pretty sure I was already falling for him. I tried to ignore it though. You see where that got me," he laughed.

"Following after him like a puppy," Sam nodded, making Danny laugh. "So, wait, that month where your dad 'made you go on bonding ghost hunting trips' every day?"

Danny smiled sheepishly, "That was a lie. I told him I wouldn't tell anyone though," he put out. "And he didn't," Dash smiled at him.

"Alright, you two are going to give me a cavity," Valerie laughed, "Sounds like enemies to lovers to me," she sipped her drink.

Danny opened his mouth but closed it again and took some deep breaths. He closed his eyes and tried to will it away then got up, "Dammit," he went to the bathroom at a quick pace. Dash got up and grabbed their bags, "He's going home," he headed after him.

Valerie scooted away, "Oh he better keep his ghost sickness to himself." She looked at Sam and jumped, Sam was now a green color, her tongue sticking out and her hands faded to invisible. "It's spreading Valerie," she said in a deep voice.

"Girl," Valerie laughed and nudged her. Sam laughed and turned back. "How'd you make your skin go all green?" She waved.

"I don't actually know," Sam laughed, looking at her skin. "Guess it's just something I can do," she shrugged.
