Pov Sage

I drag Meri into a store. I walk to the clothing department. I've been wanting a shirt that says I<3Italy for a long time and I saw a mannequin wearing such a shirt in the display case. "What are you looking for?" Meri laughs as I walk through the store. "That shirt" I say and point to the mannequin. "Which size?" He asks. "M" I say. Meri walks away. I shrug my shoulders and continue searching.

I look over my shoulder at Meri. I see him pulling the shirt off the mannequin. "Meri," I hiss while trying to hold back my laughter. He walks back with the shirt as if nothing happened. I quickly look around the store. I don't see anyone watching us. It's also quite quiet. "Come on to the fitting rooms then," I laugh. He pushes me there. I chuckle. I walk into the booth and close the curtain.

I'm wearing the shirt. I walk out of the booth. It is a white shirt with a black thin edge on the edges of the shirt. And of course the text is there too. "And what do you think?" I ask Meri. He is slumped in a beanbag that happened to be there. He immediately sits up. "Take it," he says determinedly. I chuckle and walk back into the fitting room.

Jeez, that museum is boring. I think that guide has been telling stories for 2 hours. It really takes a long time. Meri is leaning against the door, bored. I walk over to him and lean my head on his shoulder. "Boring," he sighs. I nod and sigh tiredly. A boy, not from that exchange, walks past me. He's the same age as me I think. He winks at me and grins. I chuckle. Meri puts an arm around my waist and pulls me against her. The boy walks past. I chuckle and look at Meri. "What?" he asks. "Now it's my turn to say it," I chuckle. Meri looks at me questioningly. "Jealous?" I chuckle. "MERI, SAGE, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TOO," shouts our math teacher who, if necessary, also had to participate in this exchange. Otherwise they wouldn't have enough 'Guide'. That guy always shouts too loudly. It always scares me. I cringe. "Yes, we are already paying attention," Meri sighs.

Finally away from that damn museum. We are on the bus back home. I'm sitting next to Bianca. "that museum was so interesting. Especially when he told me that" she rattles off. I just nod a bit and mumble 'yes' at the right moments. Actually, I really have no idea what she is saying. I'm not interested in it either. I don't like museums so yes, I think that explains a lot. I watch the cars driving by on the highway until we get home. Oh well, at home. Bianca's house.

I walk to my room. I'm quite tired so I said I was going upstairs for a moment. I open the door. I see Meri lying on the bed. How does he get here? "Meri?" I ask in surprise. He sighs deeply. He lies with his head in the pillow. "What are you doing here?" I say. I lie down next to him on the bed. He turns me to him. A tear rolls down his cheek. "What happened?" I ask and pull him into a hug. "Can you just lie there with me for a moment?" he sobs. I nod and lay my head on his chest.

After a while he calms down. "Are you okay again?" I ask cautiously. He nods slowly. "I'll just tell you what happened," he sighs. "Hey, no need," I say and look at him worriedly. It hardly happens that he cries. So if he cries, something is really wrong." My father had a car accident," he says softly.
