Pov Sage
"So do you understand assignment 36?" I ask Meri. He sits down on my bed and sighs tiredly. We are sitting on my bed doing homework for tomorrow. He was against it at first, but I convinced him. "A little," he mumbles and lifts the cap of his pen to his mouth. He puts the pen briefly between his teeth and thinks for a moment. Then he starts writing something down. "Is this correct?" he asks when he has finished writing. I look at his scribbling. I'll read it through quickly. "That's exactly right," I smile at him. "Real?!" he says in surprise. I chuckle and nod. "I can do things," he grins. I shake my head laughing and look back at my own homework.
"Sage, are we done, this is so boring," Meri sighs. "No, I just have to learn this," I say and turn my eyes back to my book. "Sage" he whines. "Meri" I imitate him. A smile graces my lips, until I feel a slap on my ass. I let out a startled cry. I turn my head to Meri. He is looking at me with a grin. "Meri!" I shout. He chuckles and whistles around him with some fake innocence. "If you don't stop grinning quickly, I'll knock it off your face," I chuckle. Oohh, that sounded threatening, didn't it. "Should I be scared now?" laughs Meri. I nod convincingly at him. "Ohh then. Ahhh!" he tries to scream and puts his hands over his mouth in apparent fear. I immediately burst out laughing. That really didn't look right!
"Are you just laughing at me?" he chuckles. "No," I lie. "It only seems that way" "you're just laughing at me!" he shouts in mock surprise. I chuckle. "Don't be such an idiot" and I stick my tongue out at him. A grin graces my lips. "What are you up to?" Meri asks suspiciously. "Nothing," I lie. I'm very good at lying. Especially when my cheeks start to turn slightly pink and I start to blink more often. "Sure Sage. Tell that to a cat," Meri says stubbornly. "Yes Yes Yes. I don't have a cat at all" I mumble. "Oh..." Meri sighs and facepalms herself.
We walk down the street. I suddenly feel Meri's arm around my neck. "Ahh help I'm being held hostage!!" I shout. "Sage" Meri laughs. "What?" I laugh. A few people look at us strangely. Not surprising, I probably would have done it myself. No, wait a minute. I just started laughing really hard.
"Meri?" I ask. "Hmm" he mumbles back. "Can I have my neck back?" I try. "This isn't really going very well," I add. "Haha no," he laughs sarcastically. "Well, I just thought my head fit on it so well," I whine. "I think I can have your neck," Meri says determinedly. "Oh and why?" I say in surprise. "Then you have 2 necks. What the hell do you do with two necks?" I smile at him. "Uhmm," he mumbles. "Name a serious example," I laugh. "Going to work at Efteling as Tall John," Meri grins. "Wow..." I mumble and shake my head, laughing.
Meri moves his arm around my neck to my waist. "It's better that way, ma'am," he chuckles. "Much better," I smile. I suddenly feel his two warm lips on my temple. "Meri" I laugh and push him away from me a little. Well, just a small piece. "What. There's nothing wrong with that." Meri laughs. "In principle, no," I chuckle. "so you think I'm a good kisser" he grins. "Hey, I didn't say that!" I shout with bright red cheeks. Really why does my body love to either play milk carton or play tomato so much.
We walk into the large building. The retirement home you might think. Hey Meri and Sage what the hell are you doing in a retirement home again. You're not old at all. No, that's right, but Meri's grandmother lives here and sometimes I come along to visit. We walk up the stairs to his grandmother Riet's small apartment. Meri knocks on the yellow door with the sign '172A' on it. The door opens slowly. Meri's grandmother appears in the doorway. "Heyy grandma" Meri smiles at her. "Hello Grandma Riet," I smile. Yes, Meri and herself allow me to call her Grandma Reed because she has known me for a long time. "Hi Meri and Sage!" she says enthusiastically and gives us a hug. "Come on in. Come on in. Would you like a hot cup of tea and a cookie?" she asks immediately. "Yes, that's fine, grandma," says Meri. "Thank you" I smile at her. She happily walks to the kitchen while we sit on the couch.
A little later, Grandma Riet returns with a cookie jar and a hot cup of strawberry tea. My favorite tea. Meri puts his lips to the glass. "And how long have you been together?" Grandma Riet smiles cheerfully. Meri spouts all his tea again, causing it to land on my lap. I shoot up. Thanks Meri...
