"Sage gets it then, he really likes you!" Arya says enthusiastically. "Meri?" I laugh. She nods. Come on. Don't you like him a little bit too? But maybe just a little bit," she asks hopefully. "Best friends" I tell her. "Best friends with benefits," she grins. I immediately shake my head. Although. He almost kissed me. I didn't really try to push him away. Do I like him then? No, Meri and I are just best friends. I just feel like I'm partly telling myself that...

"Hey Sage" I hear Meri say as he flies in through the window. Arya is still there. She looks from me to Meri and grins slightly. "I'll go again. I still have things to do," she says and stands up. "What kind of things?" Meri asks, laughing. Arya is really, really bad at lying. "Important things," she says quickly and walks out of the room. I chuckle. Typical Arya this. Meri lies down on the bed. He takes a book from my bedside table and reads the first sentence. "Yes. I'm already going to the square," he says tiredly. I chuckle and shake my head laughing. He tiredly drops the book on his face. "I don't like reading," he sighs. "I know," I laugh and lie down next to him on the bed. He throws the book aside. "Yes, throw it down there. It's not yours" I chuckle. He grins. He puts an arm around my waist and pulls me towards him. "You are much more interesting. Best friend" he says grinning. See you best friends. Nothing more and nothing less. I smile and lay my head on his chest and close my eyes for a few seconds. I think to myself but I fall into a deep sleep. "BOYS ARE YOU COMING FOR EATING!!" Mom calls from the bottom of the stairs. I yawn and blink a few times. Meri is also sleeping. I chuckle. I grab my pillow and start putting him to sleep with it." Stand up strawberry parrot" I laugh. He slowly opens his eyes. "And since when am I a strawberry parrot?" he grins weakly. "Since now" I laugh. He stretches out completely once and then sits up. I get up. "Now hurry up," I chuckle. "Yes, yes, I'm coming," he yawns and follows me downstairs.

When we're in the kitchen. Apparently part of the family is there too. My nieces and their friends. And 2 cousins of mine." Heyy" I say and walk into the kitchen. "Were you still sleeping Sage," Tyler laughs. I yawn and nod. "Yes, your bed is also very comfortable," Meri chuckles, walking in after me. "Hey Meri!" Tobias shouts. I chuckle. My family has seen Meri so many times now that they know him well by now.

I sit next to Meri at the table. "So when will you have something?" Adeline suddenly says, referring to me and Meri. "Yes, I was curious about that too," says Leah. I almost choke on my food. Meri laughs and slaps my back a few times. I take a few sips of water. "They already heard that," Tobias laughs. I shake my head. "Sure," Caleb laughs. I suddenly feel Meri's hand on my knee. I can just suppress a startled cry. He makes small circles with his thumb. Up a little bit more and more. I feel the heat rising to my cheeks. I push him away as inconspicuously as possible. Hopefully no one saw that.

I look at Meri for a moment, he grins happily.
