Pov Sage

I'm sitting on the couch with Adeline and Leah. Meri is talking to Tobias and Caleb. "You really like him, don't deny it," Leah grins. "No way," I try to defend myself. "Then why were you staring at him." Caleb grins. "Uhmmm no, I looked outside," I say quickly. "Sage there isn't even a window behind Meri." Caleb laughs. Leah stands up. I look at her questioningly. She walks over to Meri and whispers something in his ear. Meri looks to me and back to Leah. His eyes seem to darken slightly. He storms out. Everyone is immediately quiet. "What did you say?!" I shout and jump up. "Just a little test to see if he likes you," she says and shrugs innocently. I sigh and quickly run outside.

Outside I see Meri slamming into a tree. "Meri!" I shout. He doesn't seem to hear anything. I run to him. I put a hand on his back. He turns around, startled. Get his hands open. "Come here, I need a bandage," I say and grab one and carefully examine the wound. He withdraws his hand and pushes me against the tree. He stands right in front of me and places his hands next to me. He crushes my body with his. I can't go anywhere. "Meri why are you doing this?" I ask. His eyes are still just as dark. Just as dark. A big black hole. "Why did they know before I did?" he almost growls. I look at him questioningly. "What are you talking about?" I ask. "About you having a boyfriend," he growls. I burst out laughing. "Me and. Haha a boyfriend? And who is that?" I laugh. He looks at me in surprise. He takes a step back and his eyes scan my body for a few seconds. He nods affirmatively. "Sage, you really are a nice girl, every boy should be honored with you," he says sincerely. Wow where did this come from. "But is it true" he says again and crushes my body with his again. "No," I say, surprised. Why is he acting so strange? His eyes return to normal. I push him away from me. I shake my head and walk away. "Sage?!" he shouts. I don't know who that was. But that wasn't my best friend. I don't know him like that. "Sage wait now," I hear him say. I sigh and stand still. "Please tell me what I said wrong," he begs. "You didn't say anything wrong. But how do you say it? You're almost crushing me to know if I have a boyfriend. You're more likely to believe my cousins than me. And they were just joking. They wanted to become a couple," I tell him. Now for once he is the one looking at the toes of his shoes. "Oww," he mutters softly. I sigh and walk back inside. "Sage!" Leah shouts. I storm upstairs and slam my door right in her face. Because yes, they came after me. I lock it and flop down on the bed. I close my eyes and soon after I fall asleep. Only instead of a dream this time it's a nightmare.

"ARGHHH!!!" I scream and jump up. "What is?" I hear a voice next to me say. I shoot to the side of my bed, scared. I look at the boy next to me. Wait a minute. messy hair, sleepyhead from here to Tokyo. Yep, this is Meri. "What are you doing here?" I ask. "I was sleeping." He mumbles. "I mean after that argument," I sigh softly. "Oh yeah. Sorry about that" he says softly. He looks at me hopefully. "I can't stay mad at you for long either," I chuckle and shake my head, laughing. "Yes," he laughs and pulls me into a hug. "Caleb kept insisting on it and then I was just done with it," he says. "I see," I chuckle. I lay my head on his chest. He rests his head on my shoulder and wraps his strong arms around me protectively. Good night people. I'll be fine here for a while.
