Pov Sage

I put my hands on Meri's chest and gently push him away from me. He tries to hold the kiss as long as possible but then lets go. I look at him. What do I have to do with this. I mean I'm not sure if I like him and I really don't want to lose my best friend. I look at the tips of my shoes. "Sage" Meri says softly. He comes back to me and lifts my chin slightly. Which makes me have to look at him. He looks a little desperate. I swallow and slip past him and walk further into the classroom. "So you don't like me that way," he sighs. He wants to walk outside. "Meri just wait," I sigh. He immediately stops and turns to me. "Don't know. I just don't want to lose my best friend I guess. And I've never been kissed before" I say and scratch the back of my neck awkwardly. I see Meri grinning. "So this was your first kiss?" he asks. I nod slowly. A satisfied grin appears on his lips. "Not like that," I chuckle. "Sorry," he laughs. He walks towards me. I sit down on a chair and he squats down in front of me. "Would you at least go on a date with me?" he asks." You and a date" I laugh. "Yes. I can try" he laughs and shrugs. "Okay deal," I say. He looks at me with a smile and kisses my forehead. I push him away. "Don't worry now," I laugh. He chuckles. I walk towards the door and Meri follows behind me.

I walk into the auditorium. I see Arya waiting at our table. I walk towards her. Meri goes to see his popular friends. What the hell just happened?! I sit across from Arya. "Where did you stay?" she asks. "I have a date with Meri," I blurt out. She spits out all the drink she had in her mouth. I chuckle. "Is it April 1 today?" she asks happily. I shake my head. She jumps up happily and gives me a hug. "I am so happy for you. Where are you going? What are you going to do? When is the date? Chic or not?" she rattles. "Arya breath" I chuckle. "Oh yes," she says and takes a very deep breath in and out. "And it's Meri," I chuckle. "You're right about that," she laughs. I look at the table where Meri is sitting. He's talking to some friends. I look at him briefly. I'm curious to see what will become of this. I really don't want to lose him as a best friend.

"What's up Sage" Meri says as he flies in through my window. I hold my book of history aloft. "Come on. You'll hear about it. You probably already know everything," he says. "Good," I sigh and give the corner to him. "Okay who is that dude looking so grumpy in picture 21?" he asks." Figure 21. That is. I know. That's Hitler" I say. "Don't ever say you don't know it again," he laughs and throws the book past him on the bed. "Go on," I urge. "Okay, okay," he sighs and picks up the book again. "Okay, when is that with Meri Brown?" he asks. I chuckle and shake my head laughing. He puts the book aside. We look at each other for a moment. "I really don't want to lose you as my best friend," I sigh. "Me you neither. But we can try" says Meri. I snuggle up to him. He wraps his arms around me and places a kiss on my forehead. I play a little with his hands. "There's no harm in trying," I say. "I completely agree," says Meri. The door opens. Mom walks in. "Am I hearing that correctly?" she asks. "Are you two on a date?" she asks. Oh dear, here we go.
