Pov Sage

My phone is ringing. Meri's name appears on the screen. I press the green button and answer, smiling.

"Hey Meri," I smile.

"Sage you have to come help me. I'm stuck at the police station," I hear him say quickly.

I sit up straight away.

"What have you done?" I ask worriedly.

"I'll tell you later. Can you come get me? There is a deposit of €100. I'll pay you back, I promise," he rattles off.

"Calm down Meri. Where are you?" I chuckle.

I walk into the police station. I walk to the woman behind the counter.

"Hi, I came to pay the deposit for Meri Brown," I say to the woman.

She types some things into the computer and nods.

"Here is a form. Fill in everything and then he will come," she tells me.

I nod and take a pen from a container.

Once I have filled in everything, an agent will come to me.

"You can go to him already. He can go straight away," says the officer.

I nod and stand up.

"Follow me," the officer instructs me.

I do what he says and walk neatly behind him. We walk through a few white corridors. There are several doors. The officer stops at a door.

"Here he is," he says and opens the door for me.

"I'll come get you in a minute," the man smiles at me.

I nod back kindly. I walk inside.

"Sage!" Meri shouts enthusiastically.

He immediately sits up as soon as he sees me.

"I've been thinking, Sage," he says firmly.

I look at him questioningly. He has a certain gleam in his eyes and a very certain tone in his voice. He is open and walks towards me at once.

He puts his hands on my cheeks and slowly comes closer. He looks at me with a smile and tilts his head slightly. He moves his head closer again and closes his eyes. Oh oh another garden shed moment? The moment our lips almost touch, the door flies open.

"You can go," the officer just said.

Meri pulls back slightly and looks at me with a smile. He presses a kiss on my cheek.

"Thanks for coming to get me," he smiles.

He grabs my hand and walks out of the cell.

Urgh I don't know what I've been up to lately. What is that boy doing to me, damn.

"Wait, wait, wait," Meri says suddenly.

Unfortunately he lets go of my hand. Which he had not let go of all that time from the desk.

He walks into the Kruidvat. Well that was clear.

I sigh and sit against the shop window. I look at the people on the square. I see a couple kissing further up the road. Aww.

Wait a minute. Can I take that back, as it were? It deserves more of a vomit sound. The boy of the couple is just any boy. No, it's Axel.

"You idiot," I hiss and walk towards him.

"Sage," he starts from the kiss.

I don't really know what to say or do right now. A voice in my head says he deserves a kick. I lash out and want to kick him in the stomach. Only I'm a sucker for socks. I just simply grab my foot.

I almost lose my balance and therefore hop back and forth a bit. The girl he kissed ran away from there in fear for a long time. Anxious? Mine? She better be a catch for a potato, because it does even more wrong.

"Stay the hell away from her," I hear from behind me.

I turn my head slightly and see Meri angrily storming towards Axel. He pushes him back a bit in warning.

"Chill dude," says Axel and rolls his eyes.

He lets go of my leg; yess again with both feet on the ground. That's a lot better than imitating a flamingo.

Meri puts his arm protectively around my waist and looks at Axel menacingly. My thoughts at the moment are only with Meri's arm around my waist.

Axel raises his hands in the air and then walks away.

"Are you OK?" Meri asks worriedly, scanning my body once.

I smile and nod at him.

He removes his hand from my waist. Nahw.

He takes something from a bench. I just can't see what it is.

"Sage. Will you accept this apology from me?" he asks.

He sits on one knee and pulls out a candy flower bouquet from behind his back.

I immediately burst out laughing.

"Then what for?" I laugh.

"Just all that shit with Axel," Meri chuckles and stands back up.

"Apologies accepted," I smile and take the bouquet.

"Beautiful," he smiles.

He puts his hands on my hips. Our heads are suddenly very close to each other. I don't mind at all. Meri rests our foreheads against each other and looks straight at me.
