I heard the familiar roar of bikes slowly fade, and I knew he was gone. My heart hurt. It felt like he was gone forever, though I know that wasn't the case.
After our last encounter, I'd come straight up to our room, throwing myself onto our bed and allowing my emotions to take over completely.
Part of me hoped he'd come up to pack, see how much this was hurting me, and take me with him. But he didn't. He was gone.
After lying there staring at the ceiling for what felt like hours, I heard a sharp knock on the door.
"Bestie, you in there?"
Dragging myself from the bed, I sauntered over and unlocked the door before turning and throwing myself down on the couch, not even bothering to greet him.
I heard the door open and shut, and then the giant hulk of a man plonked himself down on the couch next to me, almost sending me to the floor.
"Shit, sorry Lex" he chuckled. "Your too fucking small, put some bloody weight on woman."
I ignored his comment, and he sighed.
"Reaper told me what he's doing. If it counts I think he's an idiot. I'd never even think of letting you go if you were my girl."
"I'm not going anywhere." I said bluntly.
"Figured as much" he replied. "But for what it's worth, you should atleast think about what he said."
"There's nothing to think about."
He laughed.
"Your a stubborn one alright. Anyway, I have something that might cheer you up..."
I looked at him, intrigued.
"Reaper doesn't want Rocket knowing anything's happened to his daughter till he's back, so he gave me her phone just incase someone tries to get in contact. I found some pretty fucking interesting messages while I was having a nosy. Turns out Ivy had some help getting her way back in here. Always wondered how the fuck she managed it. Looks like we have ourselves a fucking rat. Wanna come watch us deal to her? Nothing gruesome...yet"
Her? My interest was peaked.
"Sounds interesting. Ok, I'll come" I replied, getting off the couch.
I followed Tank out of the apartment, into the lift and then down and into the bar. Most of the club were gathered in there, looking solemn and deep in their own thoughts. The mood was unlike anything I'd seen in the place before, almost the opposite of the usual antics.
I spotted the club whores all gathered around their usual table, several open wine bottles scattered around it. They seemed to be the least affected by the tragedy.
Tank whistled loudly, and the brothers all turned to look at him. He made some sort of hand gesture, and they all got off their seats and came to stand behind us, clearly knowing what was happening. Gunner came to stand next to Tank, and the mob moved forward, approaching the table.
Tank cleared his throat, earning the whores attention.
"Ladies... quick quiz for ya..."
Everyone looked at Tank confused, including myself but he just grinned.
"Question number one... What's the most important thing in this club?
The women exchanged glances between each other, but nobody answered.
"Come on ladies. It shouldn't be that hard" Tank jested.
The room was silent, before a pretty petite brunette girl spoke up.
"...loyalty?"
"Correct! Now it seems a few of you have forgotten this rather important rule, but one in particular" Tank continued.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a phone.
"This phone belongs to the woman who killed our President."
A wave of growls and curse words sounded from behind us.
Tank proceeded to enter the pass code on the phone, then he tapped away at the phone before looking back up at the whores infront of him.
All of a sudden a phone started ringing, and all of the ladies scrambled for their pockets and purses.
I recognized the woman who owned the ringing phone immediately. She was the bitch that had made the nasty comment the night the old ladies and I took over their dance floor.
"Cleo" Tank growled. "It seems like you've forgotten where your loyalty lies."
She paled instantly.
"I...I didn't...it wasn't...she...she made me..."
"Shut the fuck up bitch" Tank spat at her.
She flinched. "Just...just let me grab my shit and go. You'll never see me again" she almost whispered.
"You betrayed the club Cleo. Your actions indirectly lead to the murder of our President. You're not going anywhere."
She whimpered, and tears started to fall.
"Don't you dare cry you stupid whore. You brought this on yourself. Take her away boys."
Tank stepped aside, and two patched men stepped forward, murderous looks in their eyes. The few ladies standing between them and Cleo were quick to scurry out of the way, and quick as a flash the men ripped her from the booth and starting dragging her towards the door.
"Stop! Where the fuck are you taking me?" she screamed.
Tank turned to face her, a sinister grin on his face.
"You'll stay in the basement until Reaper's home and decides your fate. Don't worry though, your best friend Ivy's in there too, she'll keep you company."
"What the fuck? She's dead! You can't leave me down there with her! Stop!"
She struggled in their grip but was no match for the two burly bikers.
"Goodbye Cleo" Tank said smugly, waving at her as she was dragged from the room.
"Your a crazy son of a bitch, you know?" I said to Tank as she disappeared from sight.
"Wouldn't have it any other way" he replied with a grin as he slipped the phone back into his pocket.
"Now let's drink" he proclaimed, and I was about to argue with him when he grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the bar. The rest of the club had dispersed back to their spots and were all back to drinking and talking quietly amongst themselves. Every so often I felt eyes linger on me. I wondered what Reaper had told them all.
Taking a small sip on the beer Tank had handed me, I let my mind be consumed by the man who had my heart. I wondered where he was, what he was doing, hoped that he was safe and ok. I missed him already.
This was shaping up to be the longest week of my life, and it had barely even started.
