EPILOGUE

As I soaked in the giant tub, I sighed. The deliciously hot water enveloped my body, giving much needed relief to my aching bones.

It had been four weeks to the day since I'd given birth to Catherine-Rose and my body had only just started to feel somewhat close to normal again. I still tired easily though, which was a real pain in the ass considering how hectic life was at the moment.

Between visiting our daughter and organizing the clean up and repairs for the clubhouse, I felt like I barely had a second to breathe.

As bad as the events that had unfolded here were, the club had come off surprisingly unscathed.

According to Dom we lost nine men including Jimmy. They lost count of the Devil's bodies. I didn't ask Dom why the cops never got involved. I guess I didn't really care, so long as it stayed that way.

But it had rattled the club to it's foundations, and I couldn't tell you the number of hours Dom and his closest brothers put in to completely overhaul every aspect of the security protocols in place.

Our house had burnt to the ground, taking everything inside with it. I was crushed when they told me. Dom had assured me we would rebuild, but I didn't quite have the heart right now. I'd spent so much time, effort, and money on every little aspect of that house to make it perfect for my little family. And those bastards took it from us.

I knew it would have to happen eventually though. I wanted a place for us to call home, but I knew it would never be the same.

So for now, we'd set up the guest room in our usual apartment as a nursery, and I was counting down the days until we could bring our daughter home.

Our daughter.

God she was perfect. And she had all the fight of her mama and daddy combined.

Dom and I stayed with her for a week after she was born. She was too small to feed on her own so she was fitted with a feeding tube, much to my dismay. But it worked, and after a week our little girl started making real progress.

It took two weeks for her to be able to regulate her own temperature and come off the heat pad she constantly lay on, and that day was a miracle in itself as it meant we could handle her more, cuddle her more.

Then she was out of the incubator, another milestone met.

As she got bigger and stronger, the feeding tube was removed, and I got to bottle feed my daughter for the first time, shortly followed by Dom. My heart almost burst.

Now our routine consisted of the same tasks, expressing milk and delivering it to Dolly, feeding Catherine-Rose when we were able to make it on time to her feeds, and spending as much time to cuddling and loving on her as possible.

And when we weren't there you could bet your ass there was always something to do around here.

As the bath water began to cool, I dragged myself from the tub, treasuring the last of my peace for dressing and heading downstairs to the chaos.

Walking into the bar, the same awful memories flooded back to me. And my mind wandered to the same thing it did every time I'd come here since.

The crazy bitch saved our lives, and then vanished into thin air. Dom and Tech had tried like madmen to track her down but she'd simply disappeared.

Which had broken P. In the short time they'd known each other they'd become inseparable, and I knew he'd thought she was his forever.

It changed him, and he was no longer the sweet, fun loving guy I'd grown to love and consider one of my closest friends. He'd put up a wall, kept to himself, and used alcohol to mask the emotions I knew were brewing just beneath the surface.
