I recognized her scream a mile away.

"What the fuck!" I roared at nobody in particular. "I thought you said she fucking left!"

"She did bro. Must of come back without anyone noticing." Tank took it upon himself to answer.

"Fuck! Deal with these motherfuckers" I roared again before sprinting towards the direction the scream had come from.

I saw her lifeless body crumpled in a pile on the grass, a few people already tending to her.

"Out of my fucking way!" I snarled before scooping her body into my arms and striding towards the clubhouse.

"Lex can you hear me babe?" I asked softly and she stirred in my arms.

"What happened?" she asked, looking disorientated.

"You passed out. I think you got a bit of a...fright."

I watched as she took a minute to gather her thoughts, and then she looked up at me wide eyed, a look of horror spread across her face.

My heart hurt. She looked at me like a monster, and I'd never felt worse in my life. Not once did she say anything as I carried her into the clubhouse and then into the lift, just continued to stare. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, tears started to stream down her face. Silent, desperate tears.

We made it to our apartment, and I put her down on the bed. Still she said nothing. Didn't take her clothes off. Didn't get under the covers. Just rolled over on her side over the wall, facing away from me.

"Alexis..." I didn't know what to say. What could I say? For someone new to this lifestyle, what she just witnessed would have been pretty fucking terrifying, let alone the fact that I was the one committing the act. I'd already told myself I'd shield her from that side of club life as much as humanly possible.

"I just need a minute" she whispered. I didn't want to leave her, but I wanted to respect her wishes at the same time. I was torn. Slowly I walked towards the door before glancing back at her one last time.

"I'll be downstairs if you need me. I fucking love you Alexis."

It felt wrong leaving her but I honestly didn't know what else to do. I needed a drink.

Grunters service was tomorrow, and my initiation the day after. I needed her by my side through it all.

"Just can't get a break can you?" Doc said coming to sit beside me in the bar.

"Did the right thing if you ask me" came Gunners voice as he took the seat on my other side.

"Got more balls than ya father ever did that's for sure. Steele's been after the top spot for as long as I can remember. Thought he had a shot when you got caught up with Ivy. And good ol' Grunter just kept stringing him along."

"Yeah, well, I don't regret what I did." I said with a sigh. "The motherfucker disrespected me and my old lady in front of not only my club, but members of other chapters. You know I had no choice. I just wish I had of known she'd come back. I woulda finished the job off elsewhere."

Both men nodded and mumbled in agreement, and we sipped our beer in silence, before Alexis's voice had me spinning around so fast I hurt my damn neck.

There she was, standing in the doorway rubbing her arm and looking nervous.

"Reaper can we talk?" She asked timidly.

"Of course" I replied instantly, abandoning my beer and making my way to her. I took her hand, pulling her from the room and down into Grunter old office.

Closing the door behind us, I sat down in a chair before pulling her onto my lap. I wasn't prepared to let her go just yet.

"Are you ok?" I asked.

She gave me a small smile. "I actually am" came her reply, and it felt like a weight was lifted off my chest.

"I'm sorry for how I acted when I came to. It was just all so much to take in, for me to process, you know?"

"Its fine Lex, don't..." she cut me off before I could continue.

"Just let me talk first ok?"

I nodded, grabbing her just that little bit tighter as my heart rate spiked.

"I'm not going to lie and say I wasn't scared shitless, terrified of what I saw out there Dom. I guess I knew that shit came hand in hand with the club, but I'd managed to push it to the back of my mind, choosing to just focus on the good stuff, on you. But I guess I can't ignore it anymore."

"I swear I'll keep you from that bullshit as much as I possibly can. Just please stay." I was almost begging, probably sounded pathetic as shit but I didn't care as long as she was listening to me.

"I don't want you to Dom."

"Huh?" I was suprised to say the least.

"I'm not going anywhere babe. I'm going to be old lady to the President of the mother chapter of Hellbound MC. I need to be strong, for you, for me, for the club. I refuse to be a liability to you all. To be seen as weak or scared. This is my life now and I want to live it. The good, the bad and the ugly."

I couldn't possibly love her more than I did in that moment. She'd seen me at worst, seen the Reaper emerge from within, and still she stayed.

I kissed her hard, hoping all the passion and love I had for her translated through it. When we'd finally allowed our bodies to part from each other, she removed herself from my lap, standing and pulling me towards the door.

"I'm so fucking proud of you and far you've come Lex. You never cease to amaze me" I told her as I stood, and she just smiled back at me.

"Come on old man. Let's go home."

I liked the way that sounded. Home. Our home.

Waking up the next morning I found myself alone, but the panic that was quick to take ahold quickly subsided when I heard the distant sound of the shower running.

Making my way towards the bathroom, I couldn't help but smile as I heard her, singing at the top of her lungs.

"Babble babble, bitch bitch, rebel rebel  party party, sex sex sex and don't forget the violence..."

I flicked the curtain back and she screamed, using her tiny arms to cover as much of herself as she could. I laughed, and she threw a block of soap at me.

"Fuck you Dom, you damn near gave me a heart attack!"

"Sorry baby girl, couldn't help it" I replied with a grin, ditching my briefs and getting in with her.

"So... I was thinking if you wanted to, and its ok with AJ and Dianna, we could grab Tills for the day and head into the city. I kinda promised her I'd buy her something. Only if you want to though, no pressure."

"Sounds great" she said with a smile.

After finally dragging ourselves from the shower we dressed and made our way downstairs hand in hand.
