Her words echoed in my head, haunted my mind.

"He didn't leave me like you did."

I stalked from the room, clenching my phone in a vice like grip.

"Unky Dom, I saved you a pizza'" Tilly came running towards me with a slice in hand. She was about the only thing that could put a smile on my face right now.

"Thank you sweetheart" I said gently, taking the slice from her and taking a bite, even though my appetite was long gone.

Clearly sensing something was wrong, AJ cleared his throat.

"Tilly, daddy needs to have a talk with Unky Dom. Go with momma and get washed up and ready for bed. I'll be in soon to tuck you in ok?"

"Ok daddy" she replied innocently, taking her mothers hand and allowing herself to be led from the room.

Once they were gone he turned to me.

"Alright, what's going on. You look about ready to punch a hole in my wall, which I strongly advise against by the way."

I growled, before sliding my phone across the bench to him. He played the messages back one by one, and every harsh word from her was like a fresh slap to the face.

Once he finished listening to all of them he chuckled.

"Well you sure know how to pick 'em big bro. She sounds feisty. I like her already."

I growled again. "I'm going home. Now."

"I expected that" came his reply. "I talked to Dianna, as long as there's no active threats towards the club she'll come back with me. Just for dad's service. She feels like shit for what happened with your phone. Said she'd do anything she could to help make it right."

"No need, it's not her fault. I brought this on myself." I sat down on the stool, leaning my elbows on the bench and putting my head in my hands.

"Come on man, it's Tank. He's almost more of a brother to you than I am. He'll keep her safe, and surely there ain't a chance in hell he'd go there, do that to you."

"A few months ago I woulda said the same thing. But I dunno man. She's one in a million. Kind of girl almost worth turning your back on your family for, running away with."

"I imagine Grunter thought the exact same thing about mum" AJ said wistfully, and the irony was not lost on me.

"Well, Tilly needs to get a good night sleep, and we need to pack and let Di's parents know we'll be out of town, but we'll make the drive tomorrow" he continued and I nodded.

"Tell Tilly I'm sorry I didn't get to say goodbye, but I'll see her real soon. Say bye to Dianna for me" I told AJ as I mounted my bike in the driveway.

"Will do bro. Ride safe and good luck. I really hope we get to meet this firecracker of yours" he said with a grin.

"I fucking hope so too" I replied before walking my bike backwards onto the street and kicking the engine into life.

I only stopped for fuel and bathroom breaks, and everytime I constantly found myself pushing past the speed limit in my need to get home. But I had to control myself, the last thing I needed was to get stopped by the cops. There was no fucking way I'd be able to keep my anger in check.

Checking the time as I pulled into town, it was a little before 6. Early as fuck for a Saturday morning, but I didn't give a shit. I called the number for the security office.

"Open the fucking gate, I'm 2 minutes out" I said before hanging up again. It wasn't until I was pulling into the gates that I realized I'd completely forgotten about Boomer and Speed, leaving them behind.
