. . .
Tanjiro and Kanao were sitting on the porch of their shared estate, the wooden planks beneath them still bearing the marks of countless moments spent in each other's company. The fragrant aroma of cherry blossoms filled the air as the evening sun cast a warm glow over the scene. They had come a long way since their days as Demon Slayers, and the tranquility of their present life was a testament to the battles they had overcome.
In the quietude of the moment, Tanjiro reached for a plate of mochi dessert, the sweet delicacy a reminder of simpler pleasures. The blossoming Sakura trees stood tall and proud in their garden, a vivid canvas of pinks and whites. Their one-year-old son, Tatsuki, was peacefully sleeping inside in his crib, a testament to the peace that now enveloped their lives.
The passage of time had not only brought them the joys of parenthood but had also witnessed their personal growth. Tanjiro's once tousled hair had grown considerably longer, cascading down his back in a makeshift ponytail held together by a simple hair tie. It was a visual testament to the changes they had undergone since the birth of their child.
As the petals gracefully descended from the Sakura trees, Tanjiro sensed that the moment was right for the question he had been contemplating for a while. With a warm smile, he turned to Kanao, who was savoring her mochi, her eyes reflecting the peace within her.
"Kanao, how about we have a little match?" Tanjiro proposed, his voice carrying the gentleness of the evening breeze.
Intrigue sparkled in Kanao's eyes as she met Tanjiro's gaze. With a nod, she acknowledged his suggestion, her curiosity piqued. Swallowing the last bite of her dessert, she awaited the rules of the impromptu game.
Tanjiro explained, "I'll toss a coin, and you'll guess what I toss. The loser has to do one thing the winner asks. How's that?"
Kanao, momentarily perplexed by the unexpected proposal, questioned, "But...doesn't that give me a huge advantage? Are you sure? I have good eyes, you know..."
Tanjiro chuckled, his eyes reflecting a mischievous glint. "Well, that's the challenge, isn't it? Besides, it's just a bit of fun." The sun dipped lower on the horizon, casting long shadows that danced across the porch, creating an enchanting backdrop for the playful exchange between the two.
Little did they know that this seemingly casual game would become a cherished memory, etched alongside the countless others in the tapestry of their shared lives.
