Tanjiro sat quietly by the window of the train, watching the landscape blur into a mosaic of greens and browns as the train chugged steadily along the tracks. The rhythmic clacking of the wheels against the rails was soothing, though his thoughts were miles away, traveling back to a past that seemed both distant and intimately close.

His journey today was not just a return to a physical location but a pilgrimage to his family's graves. The death of his family and the weight of his responsibilities had taken him far from this place, yet it called to him now with a deep, unspoken need. The graves were more than markers of the departed—they were symbols of his roots, of what he had lost and what he had endured.

The train ride was a rare moment of peace for Tanjiro. He took a deep breath, savoring the stillness as he sat alone in a window seat, the world outside slipping by in a steady rhythm. He had wrapped himself in his thoughts, memories of his family intertwining with the landscape he was passing.

After some time, a soft rustling sound drew Tanjiro's attention away from the window. He turned to see a middle-aged man with a warm, worn face and a gentle smile making his way down the aisle. The man looked around, hesitated, and then approached the seat across from Tanjiro, taking a seat without asking.

"Mind if I join you?" the man asked with a friendly, somewhat apologetic smile.

Tanjiro, slightly taken aback but appreciating the company, nodded. "Not at all."

The man settled into the seat, glancing out the window and then back at Tanjiro. "You seem deep in thought. Everything alright?"

Tanjiro offered a small, weary smile. "Just on a visit to my family's graves. It's been a while since I've been back."

The man's eyes softened with understanding. "Ah, I see. I understand that kind of journey. I make a similar trip to my family's resting place every year. It's a way to keep them close, isn't it?"

Tanjiro nodded, his gaze returning to the passing scenery. "Yes, exactly. It's a way to remember, to keep them a part of my life even when they're not here anymore."
