Luffy's ONE PIECE Voyage

Chopper and Wapol of the winter island kingdom

After their little trip on Little Garden, which was a prehistoric island that had the name due to the creatures and giants made it look like one, the Straw Hats continued to sail towards Alabasta, the desert kingdom where Vivi came from. The crew were doing their own thing when suddenly, Vivi called out to everyone about an emergency. Vivi: "Everyone!, Nami has a high fever!" Sanji: "What?!, Nami's sick!" cried out Sanji, as he and the others went over to Nami, who had a very high fever and felt very weak. Luffy: "Why is she sick?" Vivi: "Perhaps it's the sudden climate change, which is common here in the Grand line, but I'm only guessing, which one is the doctor?" Luffy: "Uh... we don't have a doctor, but hey, maybe Sanji can cook up some yummy meat to help her." Sanji: "Well meat does have a lot of protein which helps the body... but I can't give her the right dish unless I know what's making her sick, which means she needs to be diagnosed by a doctor." Luffy: "Then let's go find a doctor." Usopp: "Vivi... would that be okay with you?, cause if we go find a doctor... then we have to delay getting to Alabasta." Vivi: "I know we need to get to Alabasta as soon as possible... but I don't know if I could live with myself if I let Nami stay like this... so let's go find a doctor as soon as possible..." so with that, they begin to sail into an area of the sea that was started to fall snow. Luffy: "Wow, there's snow again." Vivi: "We must be getting close to a winter island." Usopp: "Huh?, winter island." Vivi: "Yes, in the Grand line, there are islands that have a single season all year around, there are winter islands, spring islands, summer islands and fall islands, and with this snow, we must be approaching a winter island." Zoro: "Hey guys... can a man stand on the ocean?" Usopp: "What are you talking about?, a man can't do that." Zoro: "Then... what's that up ahead?" said Zoro, looking at what looked like a fat man with purple hair and an iron lower jaw, who was standing on the water somehow. The man's name was Wapol (voiced by Andy Mullins), and he was glaring at the Going Merry. Wapol: "Rise my ship and attack!" called out Wapol, before a ship, which was covered by iron walls to make a barrier between it and the sea below, rose up from sea, which was what kept Wapol the ability to stand on the water, and that was when a lot of men with thick coats and guns came and pointing their weapons at the Straw hats. That was when Sanji came to the scene. Sanji: "Hey, what's going on?" Luffy: "Well, I think we're under attack." Sanji: "Yeah... I kind of figured that out with the jerks pointing the guns at us..." Wapol: "What a small crew, if I were you, I would get more men to do my bidding... anyway give me an eternal pose to Drum kingdom or perish." Luffy: "Drum kingdom?, never heard of it." Wapol: "I see... too bad, well in that case, prepare to be my next meal." said Wapol, before he starts to eat the side of the Going Merry, much to the Straw Hats' shock and horror. Luffy: "Hey!, don't eat our ship!" shouted Luffy, before he and the other Straw hats attack the men and Luffy used his Gum Gum Bazooka to send Wapol flying into the sky and out of the scene. The men of Wapol were shocked to see what just happened, and they had no choice but to make a retreat to rescued Wapol, but not before they told the Straw Hats they swore to get their revenge sooner or later. Usopp: "I can't believe those guys had the nerve to try eating the Merry... or be able to do it at all." Vivi: "That man... Wapol... I met him before... but from where...?" asked Vivi to herself, puzzled about why Wapol seemed familiar to her. Some time after dealing with Wapol, the Going Merry made it to the winter island, but once they got there, the Straw Hats didn't get a warm welcome from the people on the island, and one of them shot Vivi. Luffy wanted to make that man pay, but Vivi told him to stop as fighting won't help them get a doctor for Nami. After some negotiating, the town's leader, Dalton (voiced by J Micheal Tatum), brought them to a little village called Big Horn. Sanji: "So this island... has no name or many doctors?" Dalton: "Yes, the only doctor we have is mostly like a witch named Dr Kureha, and she has some sort of creature with her." Usopp: "A witch?!, and has some creature?!, I don't like the sound of that..." Luffy: "Where can we find her." Dalton: "She lives in the castle on the tallest mountain that looks like a tall drum, actually this land used to be called Drum kingdom for it long ago... but not anymore." Luffy: "Then let's get Nami up there and get her better." Sanji: "I'm going with you." Luffy: "Fine by me." said Luffy, before he carries Nami on his back and ran off with Sanji behind him. Dalton: "Wait... you have to climb on the other side of mountain or..." but it was too late, the pair and the sick girl were already out of sight. Usopp: "Um... what were you trying to tell them?" Dalton: "On the front side of the mountain is home to a race of giant monster rabbits that attacks anyone who invades their home..." Usopp: "Oh man... that's not good..." Vivi: "Dalton... I've heard of Drum kingdom... it was known for it's doctors and advanced medicines... what happened?" Dalton: "Well... some time ago... the island was attacked by pirates... a small group lead by a man called Blackbeard..." Usopp: "Really?, so that's why you attacked us..." Dalton: "Yes, but of course some of the people were happy about the attack... for it ended the rein of our cruel king... a demon named Wapol." this made both Vivi and Usopp to gasp, remembering Wapol not too long ago. Usopp: "Wapol?!, we encountered that jerk not too long ago, like yesterday!" Dalton: "You did?" Usopp: "Yeah, but he was pirate, he didn't mention being a king." Dalton: "It was most likely a disguise while wandering the seas... trying to find his way back..." Usopp: "So Blackbeard kicked him out?" Dalton: "No... Wapol didn't even tried to fight, when he learn how powerful Blackbeard and his crew were... he took his men and abandoned the kingdom just to save himself." this made both Usopp and Vivi to gasp again, and Vivi started to feel angry, especially when Dalton continued. Dalton: "He treated the people poorly, all he ever cared about was himself, took all the doctors for himself and forced the people to do his bidding in order to get the medicines or whatever... he even made slaves of us all." said Dalton in anger. Vivi: "How could someone rule like that?!, that's no way of a king!, it's more of a tyrant!, just thinking about it makes me sick..." Usopp: "Vivi, calm down..." Vivi: "I remember him now... I met him before back at the Reverie when I was a little girl..." Dalton: "The Reverie?, the meeting of the royals around the world?, and wait... did he call you Vivi?, as in... the princess of Alabasta?" Vivi: "Uh... well... yes... it's a long story... these pirates are helping me get back home, and we need Nami to get better in order to do it." Dalton: "I see... I just hope your friends will be able to see Kureha in time..." elsewhere, a group of figures popped out of the snow, who were in fact Mr 3, Mr 5, Miss Valentine and Miss Golden week, who have landed on the winter island after the giants sent them flying from Little Garden. Mr 3: "Great... of all the places we landed in, it was a winter island... but I supposed it could have been worse, for we would have landed in the sea..." Mr 5: "Hey look, there's a ship coming." said Mr 5, before the ship, which belonged to Wapol, came to shore, and Wapol sees the Baroque Works agents coming to him. Wapol: "Who the heck are you, and what are you doing in my kingdom?" Mr 3: "Please let us introduce ourselves, my name is Mr 3, and this is Mr 5, Miss Valentine and Miss Golden Week, we only got here after some giants sent of flying." Wapol: "So you had a flight trip too huh?, I got one myself thanks to that Straw hat pirate." Mr 5: "Straw hat you say... we're on a mission to kill that brat." Wapol: "Really?, interesting..." elsewhere, Luffy and Sanji were running towards the mountain, when they had a run in with the giant monster rabbits that Dalton tried to warn them about. It was tough to fight them without letting Nami be harmed as well, but Sanji was able to hold them off. Then there was trouble, the rabbit monsters started to all hop at once and repeating it, before an avalanche started to come towards the group. Back at Big Horn, one of the townsfolk warned Dalton that Wapol was back, and the man knew he had to stop him no matter the cost. When Dalton got to where Wapol was, used his powers of the Cow Cow fruit, model Bison, he was attacked by the Baroque Works agents, who formed an alliance with the evil king. It wasn't long before Usopp and Vivi got to the scene and were shocked. Usopp: "The agents we met on Little Garden?!, what are they doing here?!" Vivi: "I don't know, but we can't let them hurt Dalton." suddenly, the avalanche that the rabbit monsters started earlier was heading towards the group, and they climbed up the trees to avoid the incoming snow. Wapol and his men, along with the Baroque Works agents were covered in snow, but they managed to get out, and one of them saw Vivi and Usopp. Miss Valentine: "It's the princess and one of the Straw Hats!" Usopp: "Oh snap!, they're still alive and seen us!" Mr 5: "Which means the rest of the Straw hats are here on this island." Wapol: "Really...?, well then my chance to make those pirates pay has come sooner than I thought, get them!" Vivi: "Run for it!" shouted Vivi, as she and Usopp make a run for it. Elsewhere, Luffy and Sanji managed to escape the avalanche, and now Luffy had to carry both Nami and Sanji while climbing up the mountain. Once he finally got to the top, he passed out, and that was when an old woman and some reindeer came to the scene and found the trio. Some time later, Nami soon finally woke up, due to her fever going down at last. She looked around and saw something that looked like a raccoon dog creature with antlers and a pink hat. The creature's name was Chopper (voiced by Brina Palencia), and he seems to be making some medicine when he noticed that Nami was looking at him. Scared, Chopper tried to hide, but he was doing it backwards. Nami: "Uh... I think you got it backwards... the hiding I mean." Chopper: "Ah!" said Chopper, before he corrected his position. Nami: "That's a little better, but it's kinda too late." Chopper: "Shut up!... um... are you feeling better?" Nami: "Yeah... I'm guessing you're the one who has taken care of me?, thanks." Chopper: "Oh stop it you jerk!, flattery won't make me happy or anything!" said Chopper as he begins to dance around in a happy way. Nami: "Guess he's not good at hiding his feelings..." she said to herself. Soon, Chopper got to Luffy and Sanji, who were both wearing bandages, and when the Chopper got them, they woke up and saw him, and they both had a hungry look on their faces which scared Chopper out of his wits. Luffy: "Meat!" Sanji: "Hold on Luffy!, let me cook it first!" Chopper: "Someone help me!" screamed Chopper, as he makes a run for it, trying to escape from Luffy and Sanji, who both than saw Nami getting better. Luffy: "Oh Nami!, you look better." Nami: "Yeah, thanks to the little guy." Luffy: "Really?, you helped Nami?" Chopper: "Uh... if that's her name, then yeah." Sanji: "Thanks." Chopper: "Oh stop it!, it won't make me happy." said Chopper while dancing around. That was when the witch doctor, named Kureha (voiced by Julie Mayfield), came to the scene. Kureha: "Well it looks like you three recovered quickly." Chopper: "Dr Kureha, you're here." Kureha: "Yes, though I didn't expect them to recover this quickly." said Kureha, before she takes a look at Nami's stomach, which had a bug bite mark. Chopper: "That's what made her sick, she was bitten by a prehistoric tick injected a virus known as the 5 day disease, and by the looks of it, this was day 3... two more days and you would have been dead." said Kureha, while Nami and the others gasped in shock and horror. Chopper: "Though I can't figure out how she got bit by a tick that should have gone extinct a long time ago, the only way that would make sense is as if you went to a prehistoric island." Nami: "Uh..." Luffy: "Oh yeah, we went to Little Garden before we got here." Kureha: "That explains it." Sanji: "Hey uh... what is the kid with the blue nose?" Kureha: "You mean Chopper?, well he's a reindeer that ate the Human Human fruit." Nami: "A reindeer that ate a devil fruit?" Luffy: "So animals can eat devil fruits too?" Kureha: "Yeah as it was seems, and I taught him everything I know about medicine... but I wasn't the first human he taught him to be one..." said Kureha, before she begins telling the Straw hat trio about Chopper was once a little reindeer that was an outcast due to his blue nose, and once he ate his devil fruit, he was fully kicked out of the herd. Chopper tried to make friends with humans, but the people freaked out by the sight of him. Not long after, Chopper met a human named Dr Hiluluk, who was a doctor that was also a quack. The man didn't see Chopper as a monster, he saw him as a soul who needed help. Hiluluk taught Chopper everything he knew about being a doctor, and told him that he had a dream of making cherry blossoms on the island. But one day, Hiluluk told Chopper to go as he had little time left to live, much to Chopper's dismay and horror. Chopper tried to make a medicine, but used a poisonous mushroom by mistake when he believed the skull and crossbones were the same as the jolly roger that Hiluluk uses as he used to be a pirate once. Due to the poison of the mushroom, Dr Hiluluk died, and Chopper vowed to become the greatest doctor in the world to cure all diseases for Hiluluk's sake. Nami couldn't help but feel sorry for poor Chopper. Suddenly, Chopper smelled something in the air, and gasped. Chopper: "That smell... Wapol's back!" Nami: "Who?" Sanji: "That jerk who tried to eat our ship the other day?!" asked Sanji in shock, before Chopper explained that Wapol was the former evil ruler of the island before he ran away from a recent pirate attack, and it seems he has come back. It wasn't long before Luffy, Sanji and the two doctors went outside to see not only Wapol and his men, but also the Baroque Works agents from Whiskey Peak and Little Garden as well. Mr 3: "Hello Straw Hat, we meet again I see." Luffy: "It's the 3 hair guy!" Mr 3: "You fool!, it's Mr 3, not 3 hair guy!" Mr 5: "Well he's not wrong." Mr 5: "You just shut up and help me take down that brat!" Miss Valentine: "With pleasure, we too have a score to settle with him." Sanji: "This isn't good, there are ladies here... and I can't hit a lady..." Kureha: "Then you should stay out of this fight anyway, you're still recovering after all." Chopper: "Let me handle Wapol, I won't let him rule this island again." Wapol: "Oh really?, you think a talking reindeer freak like you has a chance to beat me?, and men, shoot down that flag up there!" ordered Wapol, before his men started shooting Hiluluk's pirate flag that is used on top of the castle. Luffy used his body to bounce the bullets back at the men, much to their surprise. Chopper: "What the?!" Kureha: "So the kid ate a Devil fruit too, huh?" Sanji: "Yeah, the Gum Gum fruit, making him a rubber man." Chopper: "A rubber man...?" Wapol: "Hey!, why are you protecting that flag?!" Luffy: "Because a pirate flag is a symbol of a man's freedom, and I heard from the old lady that it means a lot to Chopper, so I won't let you destroy it." Wapol: "Chopper?, you mean the reindeer?, why do you even want to help him?" Luffy: "Cause he saved my friends, which makes him my friend too!, what other reason do I need to help him!" this surprised Chopper a lot, he wasn't expecting someone to call him his friend, especially someone he just met not too long ago. Down below the mountain, the rest of Wapol's men were keeping the townsfolk from reaching Dalton, who was buried in the snow. But luckily for them, Zoro came and slashed them down with his swords, allowing the townsfolk, along with Vivi and Usopp, who managed to escape from the Baroque Works agents earlier, to dig Dalton out of the snow. Vivi: "Come on Usopp, we gotta get to the castle, if Wapol's really going there, then that means Nami and the others need help." Usopp: "You might be right." back at the castle, Wapol started to change form, looking like some sort of house of himself. Luffy: "What the... he turned into a house..." Wapol: "Yes, for I ate the Munch Munch fruit, which not only allows me to eat anything, but I can turn into it as well... now Munch Munch factory!" said Wapol, before he ate two of his men, and then something came out of him, which was like a combination of the men Wapol ate. Chopper: "I can change too... rumble..." said Chopper, before he eats some some sort of pill that was shaped like a tiny ball, and that was when he started to change into more than 3 forms. Wapol: "What?!, how could this be?!, a Zoan devil fruit user can only change into 3 forms!" Chopper: "Normally that would be true, but I developed a pill that can extend my devil fruit powers." Luffy: "Wow!, so cool!" Sanji: "Now is not the time to be impressed!" shouted Sanji, as the Baroque Works agents went into the castle, to see if Vivi was inside. Mr 3: "Hmm... if I was the princess, where would I hide..." Mr 5: "Who cares, I say we blow this place up." Mr 3: "Not a good idea, this place belongs to Wapol, and the last thing we need is more enemies, especially since we need to take out the princess and the pirates as soon as possible... otherwise Mr 0 will kill all of us for sure..." Miss Valentine: "But even if we do kill them, we can't call him as we left our transponder snails back on Little Garden." Mr 3: "Then we'll just have to use the ones on this island..." that was when a door opened, and Nami came out in hopes to get some fresh air, before seeing the Baroque Works agents, who made an evil smile on their faces. Mr 5: "Looky here... one of the Straw hats..." Nami: "What the... what are you doing here?!" Miss Valentine: "This is where we landed after you and those giants sent us flying, and we don't give up on our missions so easily." said Miss Valentine, before Nami makes a run for it, only to be caught by Wapol himself. Wapol: "Well aren't a looker, I'll bet you'll taste yummy for sure." Nami: "Ahh!" Luffy: "Leave her alone!" shouted Luffy, who uses a Gum Gum Pistol to punch Wapol away from Nami. It wasn't long before Chopper and Kureha came to the scene. Miss Valentine: "Oh great, a reindeer and an old lady has come to the rescue." said Miss Valentine, before Kureha kicked her to a wall. Kureha: "I'm only 139, and still young." Mr 5: "Oh please, that's really old for someone like you." Kureha: "Do I have to kick you too?, and that reminds me..." said Kureha, before she kicks Luffy's head. Luffy: "OW!, what was that for?!" Kureha: "That's for calling me an old lady earlier." said Kureha, before Wapol threatened the group that he'll use the weapons in his arsenal, only to find out that his key was missing, much to his dismay. Turns out Nami took it when he got a hold of her not too long ago. Wapol instead tried to use a cannon, but it was unloaded and there were birds living in it, much to his shock and dismay. When Wapol went up to the tower, Luffy was right in front of him. Luffy: "Now I got cha, now Gum Gum... Bazooka!" shouted Luffy, before he sends Wapol flying into the sky and out of the scene. It wasn't long before Dalton and the others, who used a cable car that Kureha used to travel up and down the mountain, came to the scene. Zoro took down the Baroque Works agents, who were all chained up by the townsfolk, except for Mr 3, who managed to escape. Dalton was shocked to learn that Wapol was defeated and sent flying by Luffy, before he fell to his knees and thanked the Straw Hat pirate. Dalton: "Thank you... because of you, we can finally rebuild this kingdom... we can never thank you enough..." Luffy: "It was nothing really, that Wapol was a real jerk." sometime later, when night fell, Kureha made a deal with Nami that if she hands over Wapol's key, she'll let the Straw hat leave early so they can help Vivi get home. Elsewhere, Luffy was trying to convince Chopper to join his crew. Chopper: "I can never join your crew... I'm a monster... a freak..." Luffy: "Yeah, that's why I want you to join my crew, you're so cool, and you're my friend... now shut up and let's go!" shouted Luffy, causing Chopper to have tears in his eyes and finally accepted Luffy's offer. Unaware to the pair, Kureha was close by and heard everything with a sad smile, knowing that Chopper was gonna leave. When Chopper was telling Kureha that he was gonna leave, she threw knives at him, ordering him to come back. Once the Straw hats and Vivi were outside, Chopper was running up towards them with Kureha chasing behind, causing them to run away as well. After the Straw hats left with Chopper, Dalton came up to Kureha. Dalton: "You really think that was the best way to say goodbye?" Kureha: "A pet I was taking care of is now under the care of someone else now... nothing more... besides I hate long goodbyes... but anyway, time to fire the cannons... it's time to make Hiluluk's dream come true." said Kureha, before she puts in some special powder that Hiluluk was making for many years into the cannons, and once they fired into the sky, the snow started to turn pink, making the snow flakes look like cherry blossoms. The sight of them made Chopper cry in joy, happy to see Hiluluk's dream coming true before he leaves the island for good. As the Going Merry sails into the sea, Vivi was trying to warm up Karoo, who was in the frozen water for some time, and the duck made some quacks that only Chopper could understand. Chopper: "He said that he saw someone named Zoro go into the water and tried to get him but ended up frozen himself." said Chopper, before Nami punches Zoro on the head. Nami: "You idiot!, why did you go into the water that below freezing, and getting Vivi's duck frozen?!" Zoro: "What?!, I was training!" Vivi: "Wait... Chopper, you understood what Karoo was saying?" Chopper: "Yes, I am still originally an animal, so I can understand all other animals." Nami: "Wow, with your skills as a doctor and talking to animals, you got real talent." Chopper: "Oh stop it you jerk, flattery won't get you anywhere with me~." said Chopper as he dances around happily. Zoro: "Wait, Chopper's a doctor?" Nami: "That's right, a first class one to add that, I mean why else would he be in the crew?" Luffy: "A talking transforming monster." Sanji: "Backup food." this only made Chopper turn blue for a bit. Usopp: "Well whatever the reason is, we're all glad to have ya in the crew." Chopper: "Thanks... so where are we going?" Nami: "To Alabasta, where Vivi is from, which is in a civil war caused by Baroque Works, lead by Crocodile, one of the seven warlords of the sea." Chopper: "The seven warlords?" Usopp: "Yeah, pirates that work for the World Government, their job is to take out other pirates." Vivi: "He might seem like a hero, but he's really an evil man trying to take away my home... and nobody even knows it... not even my father." Luffy: "Well this should be fun, all we have to do is take down that Crocodile guy." Zoro: "Yeah, but let's not forget that Baroque Works will most likely be in Alabasta too." Vivi: "Yes." and so the Straw hats have a new crew member out of Chopper, the reindeer that ate the Human Human fruit, and now they finally off to Alabasta, in hopes to save it from itself and Baroque Works.
