Nico Robin and the island of Jaya

Some time after their adventure in Alabasta, the Straw Hats were sailing on the Going Merry, barely managed to shook off the marines from their trail for the time being. Zoro: "Hey, what's with the sad faces?" asked Zoro, who sees that the others were looking sad, especially their newest member, Vivi. While they would have been happy to have Vivi around a big longer, they felt very sorry for her as she was forced to leave her home due to the bounty on her head. Chopper: "Poor Vivi... she's our crew member now... but only because she has a bounty on her head... she's forced to leave her home forever..." said Chopper with tears in his eyes. Zoro: "Oh stop with the water works, if you didn't wanted her to join, then you should have kicked her out." Chopper: "Ah!, you jerk!" Nami: "Block head!" Sanji: "Idiot..." Luffy: "Three sword style." Usopp: "Saying 'three sword style' isn't an insult." Karoo: "Quack..." Vivi: "Well... I suppose it could be worse... I mean I could have been arrested by now..." Nami: "Don't worry Vivi, we won't let anything happen to you, I promise." Luffy: "Me too... and again... I'm sorry for getting you in trouble... I shouldn't opened my big mouth..." Vivi: "Luffy... I told you, it wasn't your fault, if there's anyone to blame... it's Crocodile and Baroque Works... and perhaps even the World Government itself..." Chopper: "Huh?, why the government?" Vivi: "The people in charge of it were the ones who made Crocodile a warlord in the first place... and probably lied about the marines being the heroes so they would look good..." Chopper: "But that's not fair... I mean we're the ones who saved Alabasta..." Sanji: "Yeah, but we're still pirates, so I doubt the Government wanted the public to see wanted pirates as the heroes." Chopper: "But Vivi... she was only trying to save her kingdom... and they thanked her by making her wanted..." Sanji: "Yeah... but mark my words... I will make the guy who gave the order to put a bounty on Vivi's head a beating of his life." Nami: "Me too..." suddenly, the cabin door opens up and Miss All Sunday came to the scene. Miss All Sunday: "Looks like we escaped the marines... excellent work." said Miss All Sunday simply, before everyone jumped back in surprise to see her onboard. Zoro: "Here to avenge your fellow agents?!, just try it!" Vivi: "Miss All Sunday?!" Karoo: "Quack?!" Nami: "What the heck are you doing here?!" Usopp: "Warning!, Warning!" shouted Usopp while holding a megaphone. Chopper: "Who is she...?" Sanji: "I don't know... but she's so darn beautiful!" Nami: "She's the woman who was with Crocodile at the casino!, remember?!" Chopper: "Ah!, you're right!, but why is she here?!, to kill us?!" Miss All Sunday: "Relax, if I wanted to kill you, I would have done it without you knowing I was here." Nami: "How long have you been on our ship?" Miss All Sunday: "A little while since after Straw hat defeated Crocodile, and speaking of which, I haven't forgotten the crime you committed against me." Sanji: "Luffy... what did you do to that beautiful woman?!" Luffy: "What are you talking about?, I didn't hurt you or something like that." Miss All Sunday: "Well no... but you see... I wanted nothing more than to die at the temple... but you forced me to live... that's your crime." Sanji: "Wait... he saved you?... I feel a bit conflicted..." Luffy: "Well she did saved me first." Vivi: "She did?" Luffy: "Yeah, she gave your dad the antidote for the poison from Crocodile's hook to help me, I had to help her too..." Miss All Sunday: "But I don't have a reason to live anymore, and yet I'm alive because of you." Luffy: "Okay, but what do you want me to do about it?" Miss All Sunday: "I want... to join you." All: "What?!" Miss All Sunday: "As I said before, I wanted nothing more than to die back in Alabasta, but you forced me to live, that's your crime, there's no place for me to go or return to... so I've decided that I'll join you." Luffy: "I see... guess there's no other choice... welcome." All: "Luffy?!" shouted the crew, not liking the idea of Miss All Sunday joining, except for Sanji of course for obvious reasons. Luffy: "There's nothing to worry about, she's not really a bad person if she saved me." Vivi: "But Luffy... can't you even trust her?, she did helped Crocodile after all..." Luffy: "Yeah... but it's like she said, she has no place to go, and it's not like she's our enemy anymore now that Baroque Works is no more." said Luffy, while the others were still not convinced but they had to follow captain's orders. It wasn't long before Usopp starts doing an interview with Miss All Sunday, who shows her powers to Luffy and Chopper, who were looking at the bloomed arms that was swaying on the deck. Usopp: "Okay... let's start with your name." Miss All Sunday: "Nico Robin." Usopp: "Okay, and what's your occupation?" Robin: "Archaeologist." Usopp: "Are you serious?" Robin: "It runs in my blood as I came from a long line of them." Usopp: "Alright... go on." Robin: "It started when I was 8 years old, I was interested in learning the void century, which are written on large stones called Poneglyphs, but since the World Government forbids it, I've became wanted, and since then I've spent the last 20 years hiding from the world." Usopp: "You've been alone... ever since you were 8?" Robin: "Yes, but since I couldn't find the Poneglyphs by myself, I decided to join in a few criminal organizations to help me achieve my goal, not an ideal solution but it got me this far." Usopp: "I'm guessing Crocodile was one of them." Robin: "Yes, I used him to help me find the Real Poneglyph, and I might be a big help for you and your friends." Usopp: "Okay... and what's your specialty?" Robin: "... Killing." said Robin simply, before Usopp fell over with tears in his eyes. Usopp: "Luffy!, I think she's much too dangerous!" shouted Usopp, before he noticed that Luffy and Chopper were both being tickled by Robin's bloomed arms on the deck. That was when Nami came up to the scene. Nami: "I agree with Usopp here, not too long ago she was the vice president of a criminal organization that nearly destroyed Vivi's country, now listen here... Nico Robin, you might have got Luffy fooled, but I'm not convinced, if you pull anything, I will personally kick you out." Robin: "Alright, I'll keep that in mind, oh I just remembered... I brought along some of Crocodile's jewelery with me." said Robin, showing a bag of jewelery inside, and the sound of a cash register was heard while Nami had stars for eyes. Nami: "Wow I love ya sister!, you're the best!" Vivi: "Nami!, snap out of it!" Usopp: "Well... Nami's been had..." Zoro: "This chick's bad news..." Vivi: "No kidding..." said Vivi, before she, along with Usopp and Zoro noticed that Sanji was going head over heels for Robin while he serves her a little snack. Sanji: "You're truly a lovely flower, just like Nami but in your own unique way, would you like a snack?" Robin: "Oh thank you." Zoro: "Look at him, falling head over heels for her." Usopp: "Yeah well... he was a goner from the start..." Vivi: "No kidding... this is Sanji we're talking about..." suddenly, Chopper screamed in terror, which caught the attention of everyone. Luffy: "What's wrong?" Chopper: "Look up!, a ship's falling from the sky!" shouted Chopper, as he pointed up and everyone can see that Chopper was right, a large ship was indeed falling from the sky and crashed into the sea, which caused massive waves that shook the Going Merry. Usopp: "What the heck just happened?!" Nami: "Oh no!, the log pose is broken!" cried out Nami, looking at her Log Pose, seeing that the needle is pointing up for some reason. Vivi: "Wait... it looks like it's in perfect condition..." Nami: "But it's pointing up." Robin: "It probably locked to a sky island." Luffy: "There's an island in the sky?!, awesome!, let's go there!" Nami: "We can't, there's no such island in the sky, and even if there was, how are we gonna get there?, the Going Merry can't fly!" Robin: "Remember navigator, we're in the Grand line, a sea where anything can be possible." Luffy: "Have you ever seen a sky island?" Robin: "No, but I have heard stories about some." Nami: "Well that's probably all they are, stories." Robin: "Hold on, if there's one thing you should never doubt in the Grand line, it's the log pose, if it's lock to a sky island, then we need to find a way to get there." Nami: "Even so, how are we gonna get there?" Robin: "Hmm... perhaps that ship could tell us something." said Robin, looking at the ship that just crashed into the sea. It wasn't long before the group decided to salvage the sinking ship, and they used some barrels as scuba gear to do it. That was when another ship came and it was captained by a man that looks a little like a monkey named Masira (voiced by Jeremy Inman), and he was a pirate that likes to salvage anything in his turf. Suddenly, the whole sky turned dark, and both crews turned blue by the sight of what looked like shadows of giants, only these were so much larger than both Dorry and Brogy put together, and when one of the shadows lifted their weapons, everyone freaked out. All: "SEA MONSTERS!!!" screamed out everyone, before the Going Merry was rowing away from the area as fast as they can until the sky becomes bright again. Zoro: "This day keeps getting crazier..." Sanji: "No joke..." Vivi: "First I was forced to leave my home and joined the crew with Miss All Sunday..." Usopp: "Then a ship fell from the sky..." Nami: "The log pose is pointing at the sky..." Chopper: "And then a monkey man showed up..." Robin: "Then the sky turned dark..." Luffy: "Because the biggest monsters I ever aw blocked out the sun!" Masira: "... I must admit that even I was spooked by that..." said Masira, before the crew realized they had a stowaway on their ship. Luffy: "Hey!, who said you can be on our ship!" Masira: "Hey relax!, I was only trying to get what was in that sunken ship." Sanji: "Well there wasn't much, but we did found a boat with a bike handle and a map." said Sanji, before showing the group of what looked like a broken boat with a bike handle and a map of an island with the name 'Skypiea' on it. Chopper: "Could that be the sky island...?" Luffy: "And it's called Skypiea?" Masira: "Wait... you're planning to go to a sky island?" Luffy: "Yeah, and you can't stop us." Masira: "I wasn't planning on it... it's just that it won't be easy." Luffy: "Have you been to it?" Masira: "No, but I know someone who might help ya..." Chopper: "Who?" Masira: "A man named Montblanc Cricket, who happens to be a friend of mine and my brother's." Usopp: "You have a brother?" Masira: "Yeah, his name's Shojo, and he can make sonic attacks with his voice through a microphone." Usopp: "Really?" Masira: "It helps in both battles and search for sunken ships." Robin: "Why are you helping us?" Masira: "Well I need a way back to base as I got separated from my ship, and you need a way to get to Skypiea... and it just so happens I have an eternal log pose that goes to the island why that base is." Usopp: "Which is where?" Masira: "Jaya." Luffy: "That's where we'll find the guy that'll help us?" Masira: "Yeah... and another thing... stay clear away from Mock town, it's a town full of pirates, and they like to crush the dreams of others... the most wanted pirate that's currently there is Bellamy the Hyena, a man with a 55,000,000 berry bounty." Usopp: "Oh man... that's even higher that Luffy's." Vivi: "Uh... about that... I should probably tell you..." Luffy: "Full speed ahead to Jaya!, and then to Skypiea!" called Luffy with excitement. Elsewhere at sea, the Buggy pirates were sailing in search for the Straw hats. Alvida: "Any luck finding Straw hat and his crew?" Buggy: "No, but take a look in the Newspaper, it would seemed that he was last seen in the desert kingdom of Alabasta... and he got the treacherous princess to join him." Mohji: "Maybe she fell head over heels for him." Cabaji: "Oh please, what lady would want to date a wimp like him?" Alvida: "Should you really call him a wimp after he kicked your butts back in the East blue?" Buggy: "Don't remind us..." Mohji: "Hey uh... did we get a new recruit or something?" Buggy: "No, I would know about it, why?" Mohji: "Then I think we have a stowaway." said Mohji, who was looking at Ace, who was eating a turkey leg. Ace: "Oh pardon me, I was a little hungry and smelled your feast, my name's Portgas D Ace by the way." Buggy: "Well it's nice to meet you too... but who gave you the right to get on my ship and eat my food?!, I don't care what your name is Mr Portgas... D... wait... Portgas D...?, hold on... you wouldn't happened to be related to Portgas D Rouge by any chance... are you?" Ace: "Uh... yeah... that was my mother... are you saying you knew her?" this made Buggy to gasp and nearly fell to the ground, causing the others to look in confusion. Cabaji: "Captain?, are you okay?" Buggy: "Yeah... just a little surprise to hear that name... never thought Rogue had a child..." Cabaji: "Hey... that tattoo on Ace's back... that's the jolly roger of Whitebeard!" Ace: "Yup, proud second division commander of his fleet, oh that reminds me, have you seen a pirate named Blackbeard?" Buggy: "Uh... no I don't so..." Ace: "Well I need to find him... he was once one of my own men before he killed one of his own crew mates and jumped ship." Buggy: "What?!, who in the right mind would kill one of Whitebeard's own?!" Mohji: "Is it really a big deal?" Buggy: "Of course it is!, never mess with a Whitebeard pirate!, as Whitebeard himself is a pirate who went toe to tow with Gold Roger, the king of the pirates, and is currently no doubt the strongest pirate alive, in other words... don't cross him!, so if someone were stupid enough to kill one of his crew mates, Whitebeard will avenge the murder with a fury of a thunderstorm!" Alvida: "How do you know so much about him?" Buggy: "Cause I met him before when I was young... back when I was still just a mere cabin boy..." Ace: "Wow, sounds like you had an exciting life." Buggy: "You could say that..." Ace: "Well I must be off, see ya." said Ace, before he jumps onto his boat and left Buggy's ship. Of course that was when Buggy saw what looked like a man floating on a small raft, wondering if he got shipwrecked or something. Back with the Straw Hats, they arrived to Jaya, on the side of the island where the house of Montblanc Cricket is located, but for some reason, the house was incomplete as the back of it was not there and it was on the edge of the sea. It wasn't long before the Straw Hats meet Shojo (voiced by Jonathan C Osborne), Marisa's brother, who was in a panic. Shojo: "Masira!, thank goodness you're here!" Masira: "What's wrong?" Shojo: "It's the old man!, he fell to the ground after a dive recently!, he needs help!" Chopper: "Take me to him, I'm a doctor." Shojo: "Sure." said Shojo, before he leads Chopper to the man with the chestnut on his head, who was currently passed out on his bed. Chopper: "He's been diving a lot?" Shojo: "Yeah, he does it every day." Chopper: "If keeps doing that without allowing his body to recover, he'll most likely die..." Masira: "Yeah... well we search underwater in search for the city of gold." Nami: "A city of gold?!, that's something worth searching!" said Nami with Berry signs for eyes. Vivi then takes a look at a book which caught her eye. Vivi: "What's this?, Norland the Liar?" Sanji: "Oh yeah, it's a classic tale back at my home sea, the North blue." Usopp: "Wait, the North blue?, but didn't you came from the East blue like me, Zoro, Nami, and Luffy?" Sanji: "I grew up in the East blue, but I was born in the North blue." Luffy: "What does it say?" Nami: "Well it was about a man named Norland who claimed to have seen a city of gold, but the people didn't find it on the island he said it would be, and accused him for being a liar, so he was executed and the morel was to teach kids that telling lies can get you in trouble." That was when Montblanc Cricket (voiced by George Manley), finally woke up. Cricket: "Maybe... but that story has been a curse to me..." Masira: "Old man!, you're awake." Vivi: "What do you mean it's a curse to you?" Cricket: "Well you see... Norland... was my ancestor, and ever since he was executed... anyone with the name Montblanc was kicked out of the North blue and became a laughing stock... and my goal is to prove that the city existed in hopes to clear my family name..." Luffy: "Never mind that, can you tell us how to get to Skypiea?" Cricket: "Hmm... So you believe it?, you're the first person who does believe it other than Norland... as he went there once before he found the city of gold." Usopp: "He's been there?" Cricket: "Well nobody believes him due to his reputation these days... he did had a journal about it, which mentioned the sky fish and the people there, not to mention a type of little boat with a bike handle called a waver." Vivi: "Huh... people and fish living in the sky..." Chopper: "Hey... we found a broken boat with a bike handle from that sunken ship... maybe that could be the Waver thingy..." Nami: "And the city of gold?" Cricket: "It said to be located in the skull's right eye... and it used to have people living in it until an illness killed off." Luffy: "Never mind about that, can you tell us how to get there?" Cricket: "Hmm... well to get there... the only way I can think of is using the Knock up stream." Vivi: "A knock up stream?, I've heard of it, it's supposed to be a geyser that happens at sea... and it's super huge." Cricket: "Yeah, it might be your way to get there, but you have to get to it's location by tomorrow at 11 AM, and it has to be where that super huge and dark cloud hovering in the sky, for that's where Skypiea should be, otherwise you'll have to wait for another month till it occurs again, and if you stay on Jaya for more than a few days, then the log pose will reset again and you can kiss your chances to get to the sky island goodbye." Usopp: "Is it even safe to use?" Cricket: "Well I've never used it, but it's the only way I know on how to get there, though there aren't many who dare try it now these days." Robin: "All those dives you went... any finds?" Cricket: "As a matter of fact, yeah, I can show ya." said Cricket, before he shows the crew a pair of golden bells and a gold statue of what looked like some sort of strange looking bird. Robin: "How lovely." Cricket: "Yeah, so all those dives I went did paid off in a way, though this isn't enough to prove that the city of gold really exist..." Robin: "Maybe, but this does prove that there was once an ancient civilization with gold here." Cricket: "Yeah I suppose it does, and you know... in Norland's journal, it mentioned about a large golden bell in the city that rung so loud that it could be heard beyond the island..." Chopper: "Cool... and what about this gold statue that looks like a bird?" Cricket: "This is based on a South bird, you can find them here on this island and they have a peculiar call." Masira: "Sailors used them in ancient times to help them navigate... uh..." before Masira could finish, he along with Shojo and Cricket gasped in shock as they realized something. Cricket, Masira and Shojo: "OH NO!" Straw Hats: "What's wrong?" Cricket: "This is really bad!, you gotta get to the jungle and get a South bird right away!" Usopp: "Huh?, how come?" Sanji: "What do we need one of those birds for?" Cricket: "Listen, the Knock up stream is south from this island, tell me how are you get there?, this is the Grand line after all." Nami: "Oh man, he's right, without an island to lock on to, the Log pose would be useless and we'll have no way to tell which direction to go." Cricket: "You can get there if you get your hands on one of the South birds, they always point south no matter what, so that will help ya get to the Knock Up stream tomorrow, otherwise you'll miss your chance to get to Skypiea." All: "And you're only telling us this now?!" said the Straw Hats, before they run outside and head into the jungle in search for a South bird. During the search, the Straw hats keep running into a lot of bugs, which were being controlled by the South birds it seems. When the Straw Hats got back together, one South bird appeared and was laughing at them, at least until Robin used her powers to grab the bird and brought it to the ground. Chopper: "Whoa!, she caught it!" Usopp: "How come she didn't do it before?" Robin: "I can grab it if I can see it." Vivi: "Figures you'll be the one to get it..." said Vivi in a quiet but annoyed tone. Once they got back to Cricket's place, they were shocked. It seems that while the Straw Hats were in the jungle, someone attacked Cricket and the monkey brothers, and damaged the Going Merry in the process. Luffy: "Old chestnut guy!" Chopper: "Masira!, Shojo!" Usopp: "Ah!, the Going Merry!, what happened to her?!, and who did this?!" Cricket: "Oh... Straw hat... I'm sorry... we tried to hold them off... but their captain was too tough, especially with that Devil fruit power of his..." Vivi; "Cricket, who did this to you?" Cricket: "Don't worry, it doesn't matter, did you had any luck getting a South bird?" Vivi: "Uh, yes, we got one." said Vivi, before Zoro shows the South bird, which was held upside down in his hand. Cricket: "Nice job, at least you had better luck..." Nami: "Luffy!, Cricket's gold!, it's all gone!" Luffy: "What?" Cricket: "Don't worry... it's only junk, forget about it." Usopp: "Are you kidding?!, do you know how much trouble it put you through to get that gold?!" Masira: "Oh... my head..." Luffy: "Hey you're alive!" Masira: "Yeah... and so is Shojo... that blasted Bellamy jerk..." Luffy: "So it was Bellamy who attacked you, eh?" Masira: "Yeah... and he damaged the Going Merry too... sorry we failed to protect it..." Sanji: "It wasn't your fault, you did your best." Vivi: "Don't blame yourself." Luffy: "Masira... where can I find this Bellamy guy?" Masira: "Uh... at Mock town, running though the coast would be the quickest way to get there... but why are you... wait... you're not thinking on fighting him, are ya?" Cricket: "Don't be an idiot, you can't possibly take on Bellamy by yourself!" Vivi: "I wouldn't be so sure, he did took down one of the seven warlords of the sea." Masira: "What?!, seriously?!, he took down a warlord?!" Usopp: "Yeah, and I doubt he would let this Bellamy guy hurt the Merry and get away with it." Nami: "Remember Luffy, if you wanna settle the score with this Bellamy guy, you must do it before morning, or we'll miss our chance to get to Skypiea." Luffy: "Got it." said Luffy, before he runs off towards Mock town. Once the Straw Hat pirate arrived in Mock town, he let out a shout. Luffy: "Hey!, Bellamy!, where are you?!" shouted Luffy, before Bellamy (voiced by Justin Cook), came to the scene. Bellamy: "You got something to say to me runt?" Luffy: "I do, give back the old chestnut head guy's gold!" Bellamy: "You mean old man Cricket?, maybe it's news to you, but that's what real pirates do, not some pretend dreamer like him or you." Luffy: "Well if that's what pirates do, then I'll just have to steal it back." Bellamy: "How cute, you think you can get it back, I mean can you even throw a punch?" Luffy: "Why don't you fight me and find out?" Bellamy: "Fine by me." said Bellamy, before his legs turned into springs and went to fight Luffy. Bellamy was bouncing and springing around the area. Bellamy: "So you want to help that old man cause of some stupid dream?, wake up!, there's no city of gold or an island in the sky!, just oceans and ships and the man who sails them!, so long Straw Hat!" shouted Bellamy, as he was springing towards Luffy, who throws a punch that smashes Bellamy right into the ground, knocking him out cold. It wasn't long before Luffy took the gold back and was heading his way back to the others. Meanwhile, back at the Going Merry, Shojo and Masira and Cricket were helping the Straw hat fix up the Going Merry, and remodeling it a little so it can have a better chance to get to the island in the sky. It wasn't long before Luffy finally came back and ready to set sail to the Knock up stream. Cricket: "Good luck kid!, and thanks again!" Luffy: "No problem old man!" said Luffy, before the Going Merry sets sail, while having wooden wings and the figure head having a chicken look. Nami: "I'm not sure about the look..." Zoro: "I agree, chickens don't even know how to fly, they should have made it look more like a duck like Karoo." Vivi: "Uh... Karoo might be a duck, but a super sonic duck like him are flightless birds." Zoro: "Well that's lame." Karoo: "Quack!" said Karoo with an angry and offended quack. Soon, thanks to the guidance of the south bird, the Going Merry made it to where the Knock up stream will occur, but that was when a raft, captained by a man named Teach (voiced by Cole Brown), came to the scene. Other than himself, Teach had his crew with him, named Burgess (voiced by Phil Parsons), Lafitte (voiced by Christopher Bevins), Van Auger (voiced by Barry Yandell), and Doc Q (voiced by Kenny Green), and some of them were rowing the raft. Teach: "Ha!, hello Straw hat, I've come to collect your 100,000,000 berry bounty!" Burgess: "Wee ha ha!, it's the end of the line for you!, but if you want a fight, we'll give you one!" Lafitte: "Though it might be pointless as you're no match for us." Auger: "That is unless fate has other plans for you." Doc Q: Oh... do I feel sick, life of a pirate is not easy when you can get sea sickness..." said the pirates, which left Luffy very puzzled, especially about his bounty. Luffy: "What are you talking about?, my bounty is only 30,000,000 berries." Teach: "You mean that you don't know?, you have a new bounty on your head, which is 100,000,000 berries." Luffy: "It is?!" Usopp: "He must be lying... right?" Vivi: "Actually... he's right, you see I wanted to tell you sooner, you see... after the Alabasta incident, your bounty went up... and Zoro has a bounty too, 60,000,000 berries." Usopp: "Really?" Sanji: "But wait, no bounty on me?" Vivi: "No." Nami: "Whoa... I knew Luffy's bounty would go up after beating Crocodile... but 100,000,000?" Luffy: "This is great!, my bounty went up big time!" Zoro: "Yeah, 60,000,000 is not too bad either." Nami: "It's not a good thing!" Robin: "They're actually happy for it?" Vivi: "Yeah... they're a strange bunch... but that's what I like about them..." Chopper went to take a look at Teach, and he gasped in shock and anger. Chopper: "That man... why is he here?!" Usopp: "Huh?, you know him or something?" Chopper: "Yeah... he's..." Nami: "Everyone!, the Knock up stream's about to start!" shouted Nami, before the Knock up stream bursts out of the water, sending the Going Merry up into the sky, heading for Skypiea at last.
