Carrot and Jack on Zou part 3

After leaving the secret chamber, the group began to walk down from the tree. Dog Storm: "You Gara know Straw Hat... that hat you're wearing, it reminds me of the one Shanks wore." Luffy: "You know Shanks?" Dog Storm: "Yes, I knew him back when the cat and I were in Gold Roger's crew." Luffy: "Huh?!, you and the monster cat were part of Gold Roger's crew?!" Dog Storm: "Yes, but we were only just cabin boys back then, just like Shanks and another boy named Buggy." Cat Viper: "Yeah, that clown always made me laugh." Zoro: "Yeah... he wasn't that funny to us..." Dog Storm: "You know him?" Nami: "Yeah, he tried to kill us back in the East Blue." Conis: "And hold Su hostage one time too, he was not what a call a good pirate." Cat Viper: "Sorry to hear that, but he was good friend to us when we were on Roger's crew." Vivi: "How did you ended up in Roger's crew?" Dog Storm: "Well you see, we once served under Oden, so when Oden joined Roger, we followed him." Cat Viper: "Of course we once sailed with Whitebeard too." Usopp: "What?!, since when?!" Dog Storm: "Well... many years ago, when Oden was still alive, he met Whitebeard and his crew when they got shipwrecked, and when they began sailing away, Oden invited himself to see the world, and the two of us stowed away to be with him, some years later, Roger asked Oden to join his crew in order to help him complete his final journey." Luffy: "Then does that mean... you've seen the ONE PIECE?" Cat Viper: "Sadly no, we had a fever while on the way, and we were forced to stay in Zou until we could recover, so only Oden, Roger and his crew were able to witness the island." Robin: "And I suppose that Kin'emon and the other samurai remained in Wano?" Kin'emon: "Yes, as it was forbidden for us to leave our country, so we tried to stop Oden from leaving, which we failed to do and were left behind, but then after seeing Laugh Tale, Oden finally returned and tells us about his adventures and the things he saw in the outside world." Cat Viper: "Yeah, those were the good old days." Dog Storm: "Every day was a new and exciting adventure!" said the large cat and dog Minks, as they were dancing around together. Usopp: "Wait... weren't you two at each others' throats not too long ago?" Carrot: "I don't mind, in fact I'm really happy to see those two are finally getting along, it's a real miracle here in Zou." Cat Viper: "Oh come now Carrot, it's not that big of a deal." Carrot: "Don't be so modest Master Cat Viper, everyone is really happy that your feud is finally over." Dog Storm: "Well... if it makes our people happy, I guess it's fine with me." Brook: "Um... you said that you sailed with Gold Roger, right, then you must know Crocus too." Cat Viper: "Yes, he was a ship's doctor, he went with Roger in hopes to find a certain pirate crew." Brook: "That was my crew, they're all dead now though." Cat Viper: "Really?!, you were a member of the crew Crocus searched for?!" Brook: "That's right." Franky: "And the ship you sailed on, the one that Roger used on his last journey, that was built by my mentor, Tom in Water 7." Dog Storm: "Really?!, you're Tom's apprentice?!" Franky: "Sure am, and now I'm a super shipwright just like he was!" that was when Tommy and his friends came to the scene. Gidget: "Hey everyone, what did we missed?" Luffy: "Well we just learned that the large doggy and monster kitty were once part of Gold Roger's ship, and before then, they sailed with Whitebeard." Tommy: "We know that already from Mr Pedro." Jokey: "Say... where's this Mr Raizo guy?" Robin: "Over there." said Robin, pointing at Raizo, who along with Kin'emon, Kanjuro and Momonosuke standing at a ledge, weeping by the sight of the state of the city of Zou. Raizo: "Oh my heart... it really weeps to see the city in such a state... and the minks... they suffered so much... just trying to protect me... I don't deserve such kindness..." Kin'emon: "Noun of us do... if only we could help them how they helped us..." Dog Storm: "No need, we're just happy we were able to help." Cat Viper: "You know... the Straw Hats go to Whole Cake island to rescue Sanji... I should go get some certain allies that should help us." Dog Storm: "You mean Marco?" Cat Viper: "Yes, him and that young man that Whitebeard gave up his life for, what was his name again... oh right!, Ace." Luffy: "Oh you mean my brother?" Cat Viper: "That right, your... eh?!, brother?!" Luffy: "Yeah, not by blood though, we sort of grew up together." Cat Viper: "I see... and do you have a Vivre card of his?" Luffy: "Yeah, and it's still okay, so he's still alive." Cat Viper: "Hmm... that's good news, though I doubt it tells how Marco's doing." Luffy: "Who?" Dog Storm: "He was part of Whitebeard's crew." Usopp: "I think you met him back in the War of the Best, he can turn into a Phoenix." Luffy: "Huh?, a phoenix?" Robin: "And his head looks like a pineapple." once Robin said that, the memory came back to Luffy's head. Luffy: "Oh yeah!, the pineapple head guy who can turn into a fiery bird!" Vivi: "Yes, he would be a big help to us, but is he even still alive?" Cat Viper: "Well... he's not easy to kill, but after what happened last year..." Luffy: "What do you mean?" Robin: "It happened last year, a battle between the remaining members of the Whitebeard pirates and the Blackbeard pirates... the battle ended with Blackbeard being the winner, after that, he gain the title as one of the 4 emperors." Luffy: "That jerk Blackbeard... if I ever see him again, I'm gonna kick his butt like I never kicked before!, wait... Ace was with them... is he..." Robin: "Well you said it yourself that his Vivre card is still okay, so that could only mean that he's still alive." Luffy: "Oh yeah... well that's fine as long as he's okay." Vivi: "You know, if we had both Marco and Ace on our side in Wano, our chances on beating Kaido will be much better." Zoro: "Yeah, if we could find them." Cat Viper: "Well I might have an idea where Marco is if he's still alive... so I might as well go look for him while some of you go rescue Sanji from Big Mom." that was when they see the other minks, coming to the scene and happy to see Raizo. All: "It's Sir Raizo!, he's okay!" Raizo: "Oh um... hello..." Wanda: "It's so good to see you Raizo, you're not hurt are you?" Raizo: "Wha... how dare you ask me if I'm hurt... when you're the ones who were so close to death..." Pedro: "I know, but we had to hide you from Jack and his goons." Carrot: "Now let's all have a banquet!" Raizo: "Huh?!, what reason do we have to celebrate?" Carrot: "Simple, for the goodness of your health, our co rulers have finally ended their feud, and the Kozuki clan has come together again!" this made Kin'emon gasp, Kanjuro smiled, and Raizo cry in joy. Luffy: "Alright!, let's have a banquet!" Nami: "But we already had one." Brook: "Come now Nami, it would rude to not accept their offer." suddenly, the minks froze up as their strong hearing heard a sound that was unsettling, and then the whole place began to shook up like there was an earthquake going on. Cat Viper: "What the heck?!" then the sound of the large elephant crying out, like it was in pain. Dog Storm: "That's Zunesha's cry!" Usopp: "Who?" Carrot: "The island." Usopp: "Oh, it's the elephant's name." that was when both Luffy and Momonosuke covered their ears, like a loud sound was bothering them. Luffy: "Who said that?!, who are you?!" Kin'emon: "Lord Momonosuke!, what's the matter?!" Momonosuke: "Can't you hear it?, that loud voice... it's speaking but I don't know who it is..." Cat Viper: "That can't be..." Dog Storm: "So they can hear it too?" Usopp: "Hear what?" Pedro: "It's happening again... Gold Roger and Lord Oden went through the same thing, they claimed to hear a loud voice that no one else could, and yet they had no idea who was speaking to them." Chopper: "What does it want with Luffy and Momonosuke?" asked Chopper, before the elephant shook up some more, and some of the houses and trees started to come down. Some of the Straw Hats, and Law, along with Raizo, were doing their best to protect the minks from harm of the falling houses and trees. Dog Storm: "How is this happening?!" Cat Viper: "What in the world is happening to Zunesha?!" Tommy: "It sounded like Zunesha's in pain!" Jokey: "But what could be hurting Zunesha?, and why?!" Jokeo: "I don't know, but if we don't do something soon, I think the elephant will fall over!" Gidget: "Maybe my clairvoyance might give us some answers!" said Gidget, before she begins to use her psychic powers to see what's happening to Zunesha. It wasn't long before she sees a group of ships firing cannonballs at one of the elephant's legs, and sees that the leader of the ships was a man that has a mask that covered his mouth. It was in fact Jack (voiced by Bill Butts) himself, and he was attempting to take down Zunesha. Jack: "Ha, even a normal elephant would panic by the sight of a bee, a living legend?, I see it as a decaying sack of meat, it won't be long before the world will know that Zou has fallen by I, Jack of the Beast pirates!" back with Gidget, she gasped by what she saw and heard. Gidget: "AH!, IT'S JACK!, HE HAS RETURNED!" hearing this made everyone gasped in shock and horror. All: "WHAT?!" Wanda: "It can't be!" Pedro: "Jack's still alive?!" Carrot: "How did you know that?!" Gidget: "It's the new powers I gotten from the Psychic Psychic fruit... anyway... he's attempting to strike down Zunesha... they're firing cannons on the leg!" Carrot: "That means Zunesha's under attack?!" Dog Storm: "That would explain the quaking, and Zunesha's cry, I fear Gidget's vision might be true, I cursed Jack's name!, how dare he attacks Zunesha!" Cat Viper: "I'm glad that monster's still alive and kicking, so we can take him down properly." that was when Momonosuke and Luffy covered their ears again, hearing the loud voice once more, and it mentioned something about if they don't help, he'll fall over, which made Momonosuke gasp. Momonosuke: "No way... I think... the voice who's speaking to me is... Zou itself!" this made everyone gasped in shock again. Carrot: "Zunesha's talking?" Wanda: "Is that even possible?" Luffy: "I think Momo might be right..." Momonosuke: "He said that long ago... he committed a crime and was sentenced to wander the sea for life... until the day he returns..." Vivi: "Until the day who returns?" Usopp: "I'm more worried about how to stop that Jack guy from knocking us down?!" Luffy: "Momo!, I think the elephant will listen to you, you have to tell the elephant to attack!" Momo: "What?!, why would you think he would listen to me?!" Luffy: "I'm not sure, but I got this feeling, now hurry!, the elephant can't take much more!, if you don't tell him to attack soon, we're all gonna drown!" called out Luffy, before Momonosuke took a deep breath and shouted. Momonosuke: "... ELEPHANT!, PLEASE HEAR ME!, I WANT YOU TO MAKE JACK FINALLY GO AWAY!" shouted Momonosuke, before the Elephant, Zunesha (voiced by Reagan Murdock), finally spoke up. Zunesha: "... Understood." said Zunesha, before he lifts up his massive trunk, and swings it to swat ships away from him, destroying them in the process and Jack fell into the sea. Once the danger was over, Zunesha continues to wander through the sea like before, while everyone on his back were taking a breather after what happened. Momonosuke: "The voice... it's over... my mind doesn't pound anymore..." Luffy: "Yeah... me neither..." Kin'emon: "Did lord Oden knew this ability within Momonosuke?" Kanjuro: "Who knows..." Dog Storm: "I never knew that Zunesha was sentient... or could speak to us..." Gidget: "It seems that Zunesha has taken down Jack and his men with his trunk!" Dog Storm: "Are you sure?" Gidget: "Yes, and all it took was a single hit!" Usopp: "Wait... Jack has Devil fruit powers... so if fell into the water..." Cat Viper: "Nya Nya!, he's sleeping with the fishes now." Luffy: "Wow, I'll bet the elephant will be a big help to us in the upcoming battle." Cat Viper: "You think so, huh?, well you might be right." said Cat Viper as he begins to laugh. Gidget then uses her psychic powers again, and she gasped to what she saw. Gidget: "Oh no!" Dog Storm: "What's wrong?" Gidget: "It's Zunesha's leg!, Jack's attack have left a very big and deep wound!, I can't imagined the great deal of pain the poor thing's in!" that was when Zunesha began to shook again, due to trying not to fall down from the injury on his leg. Carrot then noticed that she was holding on to Dog Storm's leg, much to her shock. Carrot: "Ah!, pardon me!, so sorry!" yelped Carrot, before she steps away from the large dog mink. Dog Storm: "No, that's alright, but it seems that Jack's attack has done a lot of damage." Chopper: "Luffy, do you think we could stick around for a while?" Luffy: "You wanna help the elephant?" Chopper: "Of course, as a doctor, I have to help those who are sick or injured." Luffy: "Sure thing, just make it quick." Chopper: "You got it." Dog Storm: "No need, you helped us quite enough." Luffy: "Come on, we're an alliance now, so we're gonna help ya no matter what." Carrot: "You really think you can fix Zunesha's leg?" Chopper: "I'm sure there's some herbs we can use, but the real trick is finding a bandage big enough to wrap around the leg." Usopp: "Yeah, that is tricky... not to mention how to wrap it around the leg." Dog Storm: "Well there is a way to get to the leg, the same way we go up to or down from Zou." Usopp: "Which is..." Dog Storm: "Boats were lower down or rise up on cables." Robin: "And I can help make the bandage." Chopper: "I'll help out get the herbs." Conis: "Me too." Tristan: "May I help you Tia as well?" Chopper: "Sure." soon, the Straw Hats went to work on fixing Zunesha's leg, Chopper was helping Tristan and the other minks finding the right herbs to use as medicine. Tristan: "So these herbs can be used for healing?, I never knew..." Chopper: "Yeah, there isn't a dictionary for these as they're rare everywhere else, but there seems to be plenty of them here." Tristan: "My goodness Dr Chopper, you certainly have quite a lot of skills as a doctor." Conis: "Of course he does, he's going to be the world's best doctor who can cure any illness." Chopper: "Oh stop it!, flattery won't get you anywhere with me!" said Chopper while dancing around, before Luffy and Carrot came to the scene to check on everyone. Luffy: "How are we on medicine?" Conis: "Going great captain, we're finding plenty of herbs, which should be more than enough for the wound." Luffy: "Great." Carrot: "Let's check on everyone else." said Carrot, before she and Luffy went off to check on the others. Franky was fixing up the boats, while Usopp was giving Nami's Clima-tact an upgrade, which makes it have the ends to expend in any length she wants. As for Kin'emon, Zoro and Brook, they're using their swords to cut down some trees to use the wood to repair the boats. Of course Zoro was not where he was suppose to be, in other words he was lost. Zoro: "Hey, where did everyone ran off to?" asked Zoro, before Law came to the scene. Law: "You got lost when you ran off, I knew you were bad at directions, but this is major stupidity." said Law, much to Zoro's annoyance, especially when Carrot and Luffy came to the scene. Carrot: "Boo, boo, Zoro got lost~." Luffy: "Yeah, ha, ha, ha, ha!" Zoro: "Quit laughing!, at least I can carry it myself!" Law: "You'll just get more lost, better if I get you to the others." said Law, before he uses his powers to warp Zoro and the blocks of wood to where Franky and the other minks were. Soon, the minks and Chopper were getting the medicine on the wound, and thanks to Robin's help, they soon put the bandage on the leg. A bit later, Carrot takes Luffy to the food storage, where there was fruit, meat and other kinds of food. Carrot: "Here we are." Luffy: "Alright!, there's plenty of food!, can't wait to eat it." Carrot: "You Tia know Luffy, you and your crew are really amazing people, you saved our home not once but twice, and each of you are interesting in your own way." Luffy: "Yeah, they sure are." Carrot: "Hmm... you get to see so much of the world beyond Zou... I wished I could sail the seas too..." Luffy: "So do it Carrot, go see the world." Carrot: "Really?, you think I have what it takes?" Luffy: "You never know unless you try." Carrot: "Hmm... you might be right... in that case... do you think I could..." before Carrot could finish however, Pedro came to the scene. Pedro: "There you are Luffy, Master Cat Viper told me you were would be here." Luffy: "Hey Pedro, need something?" Pedro: "Yes, I heard you were planning on going to Whole Cake island to rescue Sanji... I might be able to help you with that." Luffy: "Really?, how?" Pedro: "Well do you remember Pekoms?" Luffy: "Uh..." Pedro: "He's a lion mink you met on Fish-man island, a member of Big Mom's crew." Luffy: "Uh... oh yeah!, the lion with the tiny eyes!" Pedro: "Yes, well he's here now, turns out the Demon trio used him to get them here, and he's injured at the moment, but he's grateful of you saving Zou, so he's decided to help you get to Whole Cake island, but it would be better if I tag along too, just to keep him in line." Luffy: "Sure, if you can handle what's out there." Pedro: "Don't worry, I used to be a pirate myself." Luffy: "Cool!" Carrot: "But... Pedro... Luffy... I want to..." Luffy: "Can you take me to Pekoms?" Pedro: "Sure, follow me." said Pedro, before he and Luffy ran off, leaving the annoyed Carrot behind. It wasn't long before they got to where Pekoms was, only to find it wrecked by Jack's earlier attack. However, due to having the power of the Turtle Turtle fruit, Pekoms was not too hurt. Pekoms: "Oh... Pedro... it's good to see you... but what happened earlier... all that quaking I mean?" Pedro: "It's a long story, but that's not important right now, we need you to help the Straw Hats get to Whole Cake island to save Sanji as soon as possible." Pekoms: "Fine... but let me warn you, Mama will surely hunt you down once you enter her turf... and she'll know if you enter..." Luffy: "I don't care, I'm gonna save Sanji no matter what!" that was when Nami, Chopper and Brook came to the scene. Nami: "Well you won't do it alone, for we're coming with you." Luffy: "Are you sure?" Nami: "Of course, how are you gonna navigate without me?" Chopper: "And Pekoms is hurt, so I have to come along." Brook: "And I'm sure my music can cheer us up when we need it." Nami: "Uh... I'm not sure we really..." Brook: "Come on, don't you think I wanna save him too?" that was when the rest of the crew showed up with Kin'emon. Luffy: "Hey Kin'emon, I'm taking Nami, Chopper and Brook with me, is that okay?" Kin'emon: "They're your crew mates, I wouldn't dare to challenge you, and to be honest, I wished I could tag along too, but I have a duty in Wano sadly..." Robin: "Say Luffy, while you're rescuing Sanji, could you get a rubbing of the Poneglyph there please?" Luffy: "Sure thing." Brook: "It will be done, my lady." that was when Cat Viper, Wanda and Tristan came to the scene. Pedro: "Master Cat Viper, as you know, I'm going with the Straw Hats." Cat Viper: "Yes, and I wish you good luck." Wanda: "Why is Pedro the only one who gets to go along with them?" Tristan: "Yeah, I should go help them too." Cat Viper: "I know how you feel, but Pedro is the only one who can keep Pekoms in line." Wanda: "I understand... I just wished there were a way we can help them..." Nami: "Don't worry, we'll be just fine." Zoro: "Hey... where did Luffy go?" asked Zoro, before everyone noticed that Luffy was nowhere to be seen, until Luffy came back with a big sack of food. Luffy: "Hey guys, I almost forgot to bring food, well... better get moving." said Luffy, before he wraps his arms around his team and jumps off the edge, and began to free fall, much to everyone's shock. Kin'emon: "Did he just..." Zoro: "Yeah... should have seen that coming a mile away..." Usopp: "Well... let's hope they can get Sanji back safely..." sometime later, the Thousand Sunny was sailing, and everyone onboard, except for Luffy and the Klabautermann, were on the deck, looking like the life was drained out of them. Luffy: "Come on guys, no need to be lazy." Nami: "Shut up!, we're still recovering from that stunt you pulled on us!" Chopper: "No kidding... that was so scary..." Pekoms: "Why of all people do I have owe the lives of my people to you Straw Hat...?" that was when Carrot came eating a carrot, looking around the ship. Carrot: "Wow... the sea looks like it could never end..." Luffy: "Yeah I guess they... huh...?... CARROT?!, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" Nami: "Carrot's here?!" Pedro: "Carrot?!, but why are you here?!" Carrot: "Huh?, I decided to tag along." Pedro: "But Carrot, we're sailing to Big Mom's territory, this isn't a game!" Carrot: "But Pedro, I always wanted to travel the seas, even just once!, and I want to help Luffy and the others as to thank them for saving Zou, can you understand that?!" Pedro: "I do, but still..." Brook: "I think it's a bit too late to go back now..." Pedro: "Ugh... I guess you might be right..." Luffy: "Is Carrot strong?" Pedro: "Yes, she's a really strong fighter believe it or not." Chopper: "That's good to hear... I just hope we have enough food..." Sunny: "I doubt it anymore..." Luffy: "What do you mean?" suddenly, a loud belch was heard, and everyone went into the kitchen to see the hyena twins, Jokey and Jokeo, laying on the ground with large bellies. Nami: "Jokey and Jokeo?!" Luffy: "What are you doing here?!" Jokey: "We wanted to tag along." Jokeo: "Since you wouldn't let the four of us join, we snuck in when no one was looking." Nami: "Wait... you mean..." asked Nami, before she and the others noticed Tommy and Gidget eating some fruit, and made a nervous smile as they noticed the group looking at them. Tommy: "Uh... hello..." Pedro: "You got to be kidding me..." Chopper: "Oh no!, the food's all gone!" Nami: "You ate all the food?!" Jokey: "What's it would only take a day to get to where Sanji is right?" Pedro: "No, more like half a week..." Jokey: "Huh?!" Jokeo: "You mean... we'll starve...?... oops..." Nami: "Oh... the sooner we get Sanji back, the better..." Luffy: "Yeah..." said Luffy, as the Thousand Sunny sails off to Whole Cake island, the center of Big Mom's territory, in hopes to rescue Sanji before it's too late.
