Brook and Gecko Moria on Thriller Bark

It was a nice day at the sea of the Grand line, when the Thousand Sunny, which contains the spirit of the Going Merry, was sailing to the next island. In Franky's workshop, Franky was building something that only the Sunny knew about. Franky: "Dang it... can't Nami show some gratitude?, I meant well..." that was when Sunny's Klabautermann came to the scene. Sunny: "Well let's this be a lesson on not to mess with Nami's stuff without her permission, and she liked the old version of the weaver, as she didn't wanted it to look like something from a merry go round." Franky: "Yeah... I realized that now... but I'm sure she'll love this... along with everyone else." Sunny: "I'm sure they will... after all... this little masterpiece was modeled after me... which I find cute." Franky: "I don't know about cute, but it's something worth making, can't wait to set it loose." elsewhere on the ship, Zoro was at the crows nest, which has it's own room, and he noticed something floating on the surface of the sea. Zoro: "Hey, there's something up ahead." called out Zoro using a Transponder Snail, and Luffy pulls it out of the water, which turned out to be a barrel. Luffy: "What is it?" Usopp: "Looks like a barrel... but what's it doing out here at sea?" Chopper: "Let's open it up and see what's inside." said Chopper, before some kind of flare burst out of the barrel and light up the sky, which surprised the whole crew. Nami: "What was that?" Robin: "It looked like a signal flare... it could have been a prank... but if it wasn't... then perhaps we alerted someone and now someone will come after us." Usopp: "You mean it was a trap?!" Su: "Suu!, Suu!" Conis: "What is it Su?, do you see something?" Su: "Suu!" called out Su, pointing her paw at what looked like dark fog up ahead of the ship, which was sailing right into. Zoro: "Whoa... is it night already?" Nami: "Oh man... this must be the Florian triangle that Kokoro warned us about..." Usopp: "The what triangle?" Franky: "It's supposed to be a part of the sea between Water 7 and Fish-man island, known as the haunted sea of ghosts." Usopp: "H-h-haunted...?" Luffy: "Bring on the ghosts, I can't wait." suddenly, the sound of someone singing was heard, and it wasn't long before the Straw Hats turned around to see what looked like a ghost ship sailing next to the Thousand Sunny, which scared the heck out of them. All: "IT'S A GHOST SHIP!!!" then Sanji noticed what looked like a skeleton with an Afro on the deck of the ghost ship, and it appears to be not only standing, but singing as well. Luffy: "Are you seeing this...?, there's a singing skeleton on that ship!" Usopp: "No way!, skeletons don't sing!" Conis: "Wait... Kokoro mentioned something about a singing living skeleton in the Florian Triangle... could that be it?" Vivi: "I guess so... but how could a skeleton be alive...?, let alone sing...?" Karoo: "Quack!" Zoro then told everyone to draw straws on who should go with Luffy and who should stay on the ship, and in the end, Sanji and Nami were the ones who gets to go with Luffy to the ghost ship, much to the girl's dismay. Once they got on the ship, they meet the living skeleton, who was named Brook (voiced by Ian Sinclair), who was happy to have visitors. Brook: "Well good afternoon!, Yo, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho!, it's so nice to have company after all these years... it's a real pleasure to meet you." Luffy: "Wow!, it can talk too!, it's a singing talk skeleton with an Afro!" Sanji: "Well I'll be..." Brook: "Oh... what a lovely lady, could you perhaps tell me your name?" Nami: "Me?... uh it's Nami." Brook: "What a lovely name, but tell me, what brings you here?" Luffy: "We're on our way to Fish-man island when we ran into this fog... now answer my question... will you join our crew?" Sanji and Nami: "What?!" Brook: "You... you really want me to join your crew?" Luffy: "Yeah, so will you?" Brook: "Well... I don't know... would it be okay if I meet the rest of your crew first?, I mean if I'm gonna join, I should know the whole crew, right?" Luffy: "Sure!" a moment later, Brook got onboard on the Thousand Sunny, and the crew were a bit uneasy to the fact that a living skeleton was standing in front of them, and Luffy wants him to join. Zoro: "Why the heck did you let Luffy bring a skeleton here?!" Nami: "We weren't expecting him to do it..." Sunny: "He might look scary, but he doesn't seem evil." Brook: "Um... who might you be?" Sunny: "I'm the Klabautermann of this ship, the Thousand Sunny." Brook: "For real?, I've heard stories about them... but this is the first time I've ever seen one... amazing..." Chopper: "Please don't haunt me ghost!, I beg you!" Brook: "Ah!, a ghost?!, where?!, I don't see it!" Chopper: "It's you stupid!" Brook: "Me a ghost?!... well not exactly... more like a man who came back from the dead... thanks to the Revive Revive fruit..." Nami: "You mean... a devil turned you into a skeleton?" Brook: "Well not exactly... you see... long ago..." said Brook, as he began his tale about how he became a living skeleton. Turns out that many years ago, Brook was once a man who had flesh and blood like any normal person and a pirate, but one day, he and his crew were killed by an enemy that used poisonous weapons. But thanks to the Revive Revive fruit, his spirit came back to the world of the living, but due to the thick fog of the Florian Triangle, Brook's soul got lost for a whole year, and by the time it finally found the body, there was nothing left but a pile of bones. Conis: "Oh my..." Brook: "Yes... I was so shocked that my eyes were as wide as dinner plates... not that I have eyes to begin with now, Yo, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho!" Luffy: "So you got lost huh?, you got bad sense of directions like Zoro, ha, ha, ha!" Zoro: "Hey!, it would be easy to get lost in this fog." Franky: "And so a living singing talking skeleton was born... man those Devil fruits can be scary sometimes..." Zoro: "Hey uh... skeletons aren't supposed to have hair right?, so is that Afro a wig or something?" Brook: "No, my roots are just really strong." Zoro: "I'll take your word for it..." Usopp: "So you're just a human like us?, not a ghost?" Brook: "Oh heavens no, if I ever see one, I would scream my lungs out if I had any." Nami: "You're a living skeleton that's scared of ghosts?, have you tried looking into a mirror lately?" Brook: "Not really... but there's a good reason for it..." that was when Karoo and Su noticed something about Brook that spooked them a bit. Su: "Suu~!" Karoo: "Quack~!" Vivi: "Huh?, what is it?" Conis: "What's wrong?" asked the cloud fox and duck's owners, before they looked at what their animal companions were pointing and freaked out too. Vivi: "What the?!, where is his shadow?!" said Vivi, as Brook did indeed had no shadow at all, much to everyone's surprise. Brook: "Oh yes... it's true that I have no shadow... but that's only because... it was stolen a few years ago..." Usopp: "Wait... your shadow got stolen?" Robin: "But how?" Zoro: "Can that really happen?" Brook: "I'm afraid it can, as I witnessed it myself as you can see... and as a result that I have no shadow... not only I lost my reflection... but I can't exist in the world of light... I'm only alive now cause of this dark thick fog... but if I so much get a little sunlight on me... I'll be turned to ash..." All: "You mean... you'll be killed?!" Brook: "Yes... I once saw another man who had the same curse as me that got turned into ash when he was desperate for sunlight... it was truly terrifying... so as you can see not only have I witness the loss of my crew... I also lived in a world without light." Sanji: "I hate to say it, but your life sure does stink." Brook: "Even so, I'm glad to have a life... and if I ever regain my shadow... I might finally be able to sail through the Grand line to fulfill a promise I made to an old friend long ago..." Conis: "Really?, how long ago?" Brook: "Well it's only a guess... but I guess nearly over 50 years ago now..." Franky: "Whoa!, 50 years?, you're talking about ages ago, I wasn't even born yet, I hate to tell you this, but I doubt your friend is still waiting for ya." Brook: "You don't know that!... but it is true that he would've given up after all this time... but if there's a chance that he's still waiting... then his loneliness most be more painful than mine... wondering if my promise was a lie... I know that we were killed from an attack... but even so... death is never an apology!, because when a man makes a promise... he doesn't stop fighting until he fulfills it!" Franky: "Wow... you're a true man..." Chopper: "Who was your friend?" Brook: "A little whale named Laboon..." Luffy: "Wait... Laboon?" asked Luffy, as he, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Sunny and Vivi gasped in shock, knowing who Brook was talking about now. Usopp: "No way... what were the odds?" Nami: "So you're... the friend he was waiting for... all these years..." Chopper: "Huh?, what are you talking about?" Luffy: "We met that whale before... and we know... that promise." Brook: "... What?" Franky: "Hold on... you know the whale?!" Sanji: "Well... it all started when we first entered the Grand line." said Sanji, before he begins to tell the crew the story how the crew members from the East blue met Laboon and Crocus as well. Brook couldn't help but feel the urge to cry in tears of joy, knowing that Laboon is still waiting for him, along with Crocus as well. Brook: "Are you serious...?, Laboon is still waiting...?" Luffy: "Yeah, he'll be really happy to know you're okay after all this time." said Luffy, before Brook began to cry in joy, knowing that there was still hope for him to see Laboon again. Brook: "You're truly a kind man!, thank you so much for telling me!, and I'm so happy that I'm still alive!... but... unless I have my shadow again... I won't be able to get out of the Florian triangle..." Luffy: "Don't worry, if we help you get your shadow back, then you can join my crew and we can help you reunite with Laboon, easy as pie." Brook: "Easier said than done... the one who stole my shadow is very strong... not to mention nearly impossible to find in these foggy waters..." Franky: "I'm sure the guy's tough, but what do you got to lose?, at least tell us his name?" Brook: "It's best I don't, but perhaps to lighten the mood in this gloomy sea, how about I play a song for you?" said Brook, before he pulls out a case, opened it up and pulls out a violin. Conis: "Is that a blue sea instrument?" Brook: "Yes, in a way, this is violin, I'm quite skilled with many instruments, when I was in my old crew, I was their musician." Luffy: "Are you serious?!, I'm been wanting a musician in my crew for a really long time now!, please join my crew!, I'm begging you!" before Brook could play however, he saw something that freaked him out and fell to the ground. Brook: "A G-G-GHOST!" cried Brook in terror, as there was a ghost floating above the crew, who got spooked by the sight of it. Suddenly, they heard the sound of large gates shutting up behind the Sunny, and it wasn't long before they see what looked like an island in front of them, which had a spooky theme all around it. Usopp: "Where did that come from?!" Brook: "Wait... this is... uh... did you by any chance found a barrel in the ocean that launched out a signal flare?" Luffy: "Uh... yeah we did..." Brook: "It was a trap, alerting the enemy that you're here... and now it's only a matter of time before they capture you all and steal your shadows..." Usopp: "You mean... the ones who stole your shadow is here...?" Brook: "Yes... and since it looks like we won't be able to escape... our best chance now is if I tell you everything I know about this place..." Nami: "Well can you start on why my Log Pose isn't responding to this place?" Brook: "Well this island isn't from the Grand line, it's really an island based pirate ship that came from the West blue... so you wouldn't have to worry about it messing with the Log Pose..." Conis: "It's a pirate ship and an island?" Brook: "Yes... known as Thriller Bark... and the man who captains it goes by the name of... Moria." Robin: "Wait... Moria?, you don't mean by... Gecko Moria right?" Brook: "I'm afraid so." Luffy: "Wait... you know who he is?" Robin: "Yes... but only by name, he's a man full of mysteries... I've heard his former bounty was even higher than yours." Sanji: "Wait... former?" Robin: "Yes... Gecko Moria... is one of the Seven Warlords of the sea." this made the crew to gasp, as they remembered their past encounters with the Mihawk and Crocodile. Usopp: "You gotta to be kidding... first Mihawk... then Crocodile... now this Moria guy...?, can't we ever get a break for once...?" Conis: "Um... Vivi told me about them while telling me about the war in her homeland... the Seven Warlords are allies with the World Government right?" Vivi: "That's right, and they're very powerful..." Luffy: "And this Moria guy took your shadow?" Brook: "Yes, with the power of the Shadow Shadow fruit." Franky: "A devil fruit that allows you to control shadows?, that figures..." Brook: "Yes, he steals the shadows from powerful pirates so he can use them to create a powerful army of zombies." Usopp: "Did you say... zombies?!" Chopper: "He can make zombies?!" Brook: "Yes, once the shadow goes into a corpse, it comes to life as a zombie, and if the shadow came from a powerful warrior... and the corpse itself was of a powerful being too... them combining would make a powerful warrior, and Moria would have total control over it." Robin: "That makes sense, it would be hard to control such powerful living warriors..." Zoro: "And they kill the shadows' original owners after they make the zombie?" Brook: "No, if the shadow's original owner dies, so will the shadow, as a result, the zombie becomes dead again, so Moria and his crew would have to keep the owners be locked up or set adrift in the foggy waters here." Nami: "So we just need to keep ourselves from getting caught by Moria and his crew." Brook: "It won't be easy... but they have some zombie spider mice that use webs that catches you when you least expect it... and the webs are really tough... but can be melted by fire." Franky: "I have a super fire breath that can do that." Vivi: "Anything else?" Brook: "Well there are Moria's crew member... like the one named Dr Hogback for example." Chopper: "Wait... Hogback?, one of the greatest doctors in the world?, he was an idol of mine... I heard he disappeared a few years ago... he works for Moria?" Brook: "Yes, he's the one who stitches the zombies together into order to create the army... then there's Absalom, a man who's been not only stitched up to have some animal parts, like the jaws of a lion and tough elephant skin... but he can turn invisible by the powers of the Clear Clear fruit." Sanji: "The Clear Clear fruit you say?..." Brook: "Yes... he's like a savage animal... especially around women..." said Brook, before Sunny's Klabautermann pulled out her mallet and swung it to hit what seemed to be thin air, only for a man that had the jaws of a lion, which was really Absalom (voiced by Andrew Chandler), appear and in pain as Sunny's mallet hit a certain spot between the legs. Sunny: "Would this be him?" Brook: "Yes that's him... uh... wait!, he's here already?!" gasped Brook, before Absalom got up and looked mad at the Klabautermann. Absalom: "You little brat... prepare to die!" Luffy: "Harm my crew mate in any way... and we'll kick your butt like there's no tomorrow." said Luffy, before he along with the rest of the Straw Hats glared at the beast man, who gulped a little before he turned invisible again. Usopp: "What the?!, he's gone!" Brook: "Be on your guard, he's most likely still here!" that was when they heard Nami screaming, as it turns out that she was caught by Absalom, who has his eyes set on her. Absalom: "You're such a real hot woman, perfect to be my bride." Sanji: "What did you say... you invisible pervert?!" said Sanji, before he charges towards Absalom, who turned not only himself but Nami invisible as well, making the crew gasped in shock. Luffy: "Nami!" Zoro: "She's gone!" Sanji: "And that creep... plans to marry her!, no way I'm letting him get away with that!, that invisible pervert is gonna pay!" shouted Sanji, before his whole body got engulfed by flames, much to everyone's surprise. Chopper: "He's on fire!" Zoro: "I think it's his flames of rage..." Luffy: "Sanji, you go save Nami, okay?" Sanji: "Sure thing captain!, you won't need to ask me twice!" Brook: "But before you all go, you must have lots of salt with you at all times." Usopp: "What for?" Brook: "Well... last time I was here, I learned that if you get a zombie to eat salt, the shadow will come out of the zombie and returns to it's original owner." Franky: "Really?" Brook: "Yes, you can use sea water too but salt might be easier to carry for this situation." Robin: "Of course, sea water has salt in it, and the zombies were created through the powers of a devil fruit." Franky: "That makes sense." Luffy: "Okay... let's find Moria... cause if we take him down, we can get Brook's shadow back, and then he can join our crew." Brook: "Uh... you'd really do that for me?" Luffy: "Sure, I like a whole lot of things about you, like you being a musician, a living skeleton with an Afro and you're one of Laboon's best friends." Usopp: "I have to agree with Luffy here, even though you're a skeleton, you turned out to be a great guy." Chopper: "Yeah, I shouldn't have judged ya from your appearance alone, for I'm sort of freaky looking myself... sorry." Franky: "Wow!, you're a true man, ya bone head!, willing to risk your life to reunite with that whale truly touched my heart!" Vivi and Conis couldn't help but smile and nodded as they want to help Brook too. Soon, the Straw Hats got some salt with them and went to the Thriller Bark, but making sure not to drop their guard after remembering what Brook told them about the place. While Sanji split up from the group to find Nami and Absalom, the others were looking for Moria in hopes to take him down and rescue Brook's shadow. It wasn't long before they had a run in with what looked like a large three headed dog, covered in stitches. Luffy: "Huh?, a dog... with three heads?" Brook: "Oh no... it's Cerberus!" Usopp: "No way!, the legendary guardian of the underworld?!" Zoro: "Hold on, remember what Brook said about zombies, this thing is most likely one of them." Robin: "I think it's actually kinda cute." Franky: "You're kidding... right?" Chopper: "Wait a minute... one of the heads is a fox's head!" said Chopper, as he noticed that one of the zombie dog's heads was a fox head, which made the zombie dog to be depressed. Usopp: "I think it's depressed..." Vivi: "Guess it's sensitive about it's heads..." said Vivi, before the zombie dog got angry and gets ready to charge, only for Luffy to punch it and knocked it out cold. The scene changes to show Luffy riding on the zombie dog while the others followed him. Su couldn't help but noticed that the fox head of the zombie dog was looking at her with hearts for eyes and panting, much to her discomfort. Robin: "Don't look now Conis, but I think Su just stole the heart of one of Cerberus' heads." Conis: "Sure looks like it... though I doubt Su share his feelings..." Brook: "So one of the heads is a fox head... I never really noticed the difference till now..." Chopper: "Yeah... but I don't know how it can have that head in the first place..." Brook: "Well I did say that Dr Hogback was the one who stitches the zombies together... guess he never went to learn about animal biology or something..." Chopper: "I still can't believe Dr Hogback was helping this Moria create an army of zombies..." it wasn't long before they got to a cemetery, when a zombie came out of the ground, which freaked out Usopp, Vivi, Conis and their animal companions, before Luffy takes a look at it. Luffy: "It's an old man with serious injuries!" All: "Are you nuts?!, it's a zombie!" shouted the crew, before more zombies showed up and tried to attack, only for the zombies to have their butts kicked so easily, especially when they used salt to force the shadows out of them. Back with Sanji, he found Absalom trying to kiss Nami, who was wearing a wedding dress, and the cook stopped the invisible man from kissing the girl just in the nick of time. The two men went to fight, and Sanji used his kicks to do some damage on Absalom, who was surprised that he can be beaten up like this. Sanji: "You're gonna pay for not only kidnapping Nami, but also taking away my dream of becoming invisible." Absalom: "What do you mean?" Sanji: "I was never interested in having a devil fruit power... except for one, which was the Clear Clear fruit... if I became invisible... I would be able to see girls taking a bath... I mean help other people!" said Sanji, trying to correct the last part as Nami was glaring behind him. Absalom: "That's the issue here?, you're mad that I ate the Clear Clear fruit before you could find it?, that's the most petty thing I've ever heard!, you jealous pervert!" Sanji: "You have no right to call me that!" shouted Sanji, as he kicks Absalom in the face, sending him flying into a wall. Nami: "It takes a pervert to know a pervert, if you ask me... but I think I would rather deal with a pervert like Sanji over a savage beast like that invisible guy any day..." said Nami to herself, before Sanji came over to her. Sanji: "By the way Nami... you absolutely gorgeous in that outfit~." said Sanji while going love cook mode, much to Nami's annoyance. Back with the group, they had a run with some spider mice zombies, lead by a giant spider monkey. Brook was able to beat the leading zombie, but the spider mice already caught Luffy and taking him to Moria. As the crew went after Luffy, it wasn't long before they meet someone that was another member of Moria's crew, who was in fact Dr Hogback (voiced by Marcus Stimac) himself. Chopper and Robin went to fight Hogback and his female zombie servant, while the others continued on in hopes to rescue Luffy. During the fight, Chopper realized that Hogback didn't care about the lives of his patience, just the money and fame, and with the cruel mistreatment he gives to the zombies that fail, and the fact that they're just puppets controlled without any will of their own. Chopper: "You're a disgrace to doctors everywhere!" Hogback: "Like a low class pirate doctor can tell me what's right or wrong." Chopper: "I might be a pirate... but I know that I'm a true doctor, unlike an evil jerk who mistreats the lives of his patients like you!" Robin: "Chopper..." soon the battle came to an end when Chopper and Robin took down both Hogback and his zombie servant. Back with Nami and Sanji, they were on their way to find the others when they found what looked like a woman with pink hair being chased by what looked like a zombie pig, wearing a wedding dress. The woman's name was Lola (voiced by Alex Moore), and the zombie was named zombie Lola (voiced by Alex Moore) and it seems she has a grudge on the woman for some reason. Zombie Lola: "Get back here and die!" Lola: "I already told ya!, I don't want to marry Absalom!, so there's no reason to go after me!" Zombie Lola: "I got word that Absalom picked a bride not too long ago, and I know you have a habit of asking some guy to marry you, which means you must have done it!" Lola: "But it's not me!, someone help!" Sanji: "Oh man... that lady needs help... but the attacker is a lady as well... and I can't ever hit a woman..." Nami: "Oh boy... guess that means it's up to me..." said Nami, before she uses her Clima-tact to summon lightning to give the zombie the shock of her life, but it wasn't enough to take her down for long. Sanji: "Nami, use this bag of salt and put it in the zombie's mouth!" Nami: "What?, how can that help?!" Sanji: "Trust me, Brook said it should stop them." deciding to believe in what Sanji said, Nami used the salt on the zombie, and soon the shadow came out, and went below Lola, who was really happy as she had her shadow back. Lola: "I can't believe it... after all this time... I finally got my shadow back!, oh thank you so much!, I'm forever in your debt!" Nami: "It was nothing really, we were just passing by... anyway have you seen a man with a straw hat anywhere?" Lola: "I'm afraid not, I've seen a lot of people who got their shadows got stolen, but no one with a straw hat, is he important to you?" Nami: "He's my captain, and we got separated when that invisible jerk kidnapped me to be his bride." Lola: "Oh that explains the dress, which looks really good on ya." Nami: "Oh you really think so?" Lola: "Sure do." Sanji: "I totally agree with you on that." elsewhere, back with the crew, they run into a girl with pink hair named Perona (voiced by Felecia Angelle) who has the power of the Hollow Hollow fruit, which makes her a ghost girl, with the power to make herself a ghost and summon little ghosts that can make you feel negative against your will if they pass through your body. Usopp was the only one not effected by the girl's power as he naturally has a negative personality, which left Perona absolutely shocked. Perona: "How could this be?!, such as person shouldn't exist!" Usopp: "Well believe it, cause that person's right here!" Due to not being effected, Usopp was left to fight Perona while the others continued to find Luffy. The fight between Usopp and Perona was more of a battle of wits, and Usopp tricked her to believe he was about to smash her with a giant hammer, which was really a balloon. The trick scared Perona so much that she passed out, leaving Usopp to be the winner. Back with the others, it wasn't long before they ran into a zombie that was supposed to be a legendary samurai named Ryuma (voiced by Ian Sinclair), which was in fact the zombie that has Brook's shadow. Ryuma: "So... you must be the ones that were supposed to be captured but able to fight back... and since the skeleton is here, I'm guessing he's the one who gave you the tip on how to remove the shadows from the zombies." Brook: "Be careful everyone... this man is known to a legendary Samurai from the land called Wano... and he's a very skill swordsman..." Zoro: "Yeah... I see... and that blade of his... I think I know what it is..." Ryuma: "Ah, you have a good eye... this is known far and wide as Shusui, it was able to cut down dragons in the past..." Zoro: "Yeah I thought so... and you have Brook's shadow right?" Ryuma: "If you mean the living skeleton, correct." Zoro: "How about this... how about a duel between you and me, if I win, I'll take your sword and Brook's shadow... but if you win... then you can take me to Moria and let him take my shadow, and you can have my swords... deal?" Ryuma: "Hmm... seems fair enough, let's see how skilled you are..." Zoro: "Well I normally use three sword style, but one of my blades are broken, so I'll just have to use two." Ryuma: "Three swords style... interesting... wish I can see it myself too... but I doubt it would be enough to take me down." Zoro: "We'll see..." Ryuma: "Also... if you win... and if any chance you visit my homeland... could you return Shusui back to my grave where it can rest?" Zoro: "Fine with me." so with that, the battle between Zoro and Ryuma commence, and it was really intense as both showed extremely high level of power while clashing swords. Brook: "My goodness... I never knew my zombie was this powerful... which means he was barely using a fraction of his power when he was fighting me last time I was here... I have a feeling that this battle won't last long..." Franky: "No kidding... I knew Zoro was supposed to be tough... but this is crazy..." Conis: "No kidding..." Vivi: "Well that's Zoro for ya... the man who aims to be the world's best swordsman..." it wasn't long before one of the swordsmen used an attack that cuts the roof of the tower they were inside of in half, and that was when the zombie was finally defeated, causing not only the shadow to return on Brook, but the sword, Shusui, became Zoro's new blade. Brook: "I can't believe it!, my shadow has finally returned!, it's a true miracle!" it wasn't long after the duel, the crew went to a room where Luffy was not only in a cage, he was knocked out cold. Franky: "Hey!, this is not the time to take a nap!" Brook: "It's not his fault, when your shadow gets taken, you pass out for a while." Conis: "Is there anyway to wake him up?" asked Conis, while Karoo and Su were slapping Luffy's face, in hopes to wake up their captain quicker. That was when Usopp, Chopper, Robin, Sanji and Nami came to the scene, and learned about Luffy's current condition. Robin: "I see that Sanji saved you." Nami: "Yeah, and on the way, we made a new ally." said Nami, before Lola came to the scene. Lola: "That's your captain?, I thought he would be more um... manly looking." Usopp: "He might not look it, but he's really strong, and he loves meat too." once Usopp mentioned 'meat', Luffy suddenly woke up. Luffy: "Did someone say meat?!" Lola: "What the?!" Usopp: "Should have known that would do the trick..." suddenly, a giant fist punched through the wall, and it wasn't long before the culprit was revealed to be what looked like a giant, but it was twice the size of a normal giant, and the head looked like the kind of a demon. Inside the stomach was a man who happened to Moria (voiced by Christopher Guerrero) himself, who was controlling the monster from the inside of it's body. Moria: "So... you're the Straw Hats I've heard about?, the ones who took down CP9 at Enies Lobby?" Robin: "That's right, and you must be Moria, one of the Seven warlords of the sea." Moria: "That is correct, and as you can see, I've used Straw Hat's shadow quite nicely... in the corpse of the monster known as Oars, the ultimate zombie!" said Moria as he began to make an evil laugh, while the Straw Hats were shocked by the sight of the demon looking giant zombie in front of them. Luffy: "Whoa!, that's what I call a giant!" Usopp: "Oh man... how can we fight something like that?!" Zoro: "We have to try... otherwise we're gonna get killed, and this will be the perfect time for me to try out this new sword." Sanji: "If that thing so much as harm a single hair on these ladies... then I'm gonna break every dead bone in it's body." so with that, the battle between the Straw Hat crew and Oars begins, and it was not only intense, but it was causing the Straw Hats to begin feeling worn out. It was more troubling for them when Moria revealed that he change the shape of Oars' body by changing the shape of the shadow. The only one who was able to do some damage on Oars and Moria was Luffy, and he used both Second Gear and Third Gear to take them both down. Once Moria was defeated, all of the shadows that he had stolen was leaving Thriller Bark and returning to their original owners, who were so happy to be able to walk under the sun again. Back on Thriller Bark, Luffy was on the ground, passed out and injured from his fight with Moria and Oars. Chopper: "So that was the Second Gear and Third Gear Luffy told me about... the same tricks he used to beat Lucci back on Enies Lobby... they might have done the trick but they have side effects on him..." Usopp: "Yeah, this worries me... every enemy we face is stronger than the last one, he has to push himself every single time... we need to pull ourselves together and soon..." Nami: "Yeah... you're right..." there was no doubt that the Straw Hats were starting to worry that maybe they weren't ready for the New World just yet, when an old man with serious injuries, named Spoil (voiced by Mark Fickert), came to the scene. Usopp: "Holy shoot!, it's another zombie!, one of them kept their shadow even though we beaten Moria!" Spoil: "No, I'm actually just an old man with serious injuries." Usopp: "That's too confusing!, can't you just be a zombie?!, geez!" Lola: "Old man Spoil!, am I glad to see you here!" Spoil: "Ah, Lola, happy to see you too... and I can see that we both finally got our shadows back... thank goodness... I always dreamed to having my shadow back and lay on the light of the sun again... and it looks like we're about to have that chance." said Spoil, before the others see that they were out of the fog and the sun was starting to come out of the sky. Nami: "Wow... what a beautiful sunrise..." Brook: "It's been a long time since I seen the sun..." Sanji: "It's like we finally woken up from some terrible nightmare... and feel the peace over us." that was when Perona, who finally woke up, came to the scene and ready to attack the Straw Hats, only to notice that a large shadow loomed over her, and turned around in shock to see who it was. It wasn't long before the Straw Hats noticed the figure too, and they were surprised. Lola: "Oh no... why is he here...?" Conis: "You know him?" Lola: "Not personally... but yeah... that man is another member of the Seven warlords of the sea... Bartholomew Kuma... the Tyrant." Usopp: "No way!, another warlord?!" Chopper: "This is bad... it took everything we had to defeat Moria... we don't have the strength to fight him now!" it was then that Kuma (voiced by Joel McDonald) spoke to Perona. Kuma: "If you want a vacation, where is it you like to go?" Perona: "Huh?, well I would like to go to a place with a spooky abandoned castle on an island that also has a spooky forest... but why asking me that?" asked Perona, before Kuma touched her with his palm, and all of a sudden, she vanished into thin air, much to everyone's shock and horror. Zoro: "What the..." Vivi: "That girl... she just... vanished..." Usopp: "What did he do to her?!" asked Usopp in shock, before Kuma looks at them and showed his hands, which had paw pads on them. Kuma: "I am the man who ate the Paw Paw fruit, I can repel everything I touch as far as I want... and became a paw palmed human." Sanji: "A... paw palmed human?" Usopp: "How can he say that with a straight face?, that's gotta be the most ridiculous power I've ever heard." Robin: "The power of having kitten paws?" asked Robin, as she had the thought of kittens showing their paws. Franky: "I might not know much about these warlords, but if his powers are kitten hands, then what are we worried about?" asked Franky, before Kuma created a shockwave that hits Franky, sending him flying into a wall with a paw mark on his torso. Chopper: "Franky!" Kuma: "You should be more careful about not to underestimate the powers of the enemy, otherwise you'll be dead before you know it." Robin: "I think... he can repel the air to form an attack." Usopp: "Oh man... this is bad..." indeed it was bad, as Kuma was getting ready to set up another attack, as he makes a big paw made of air and shrinking it to the size of a little paw, and then he spoke. Kuma: "I was given orders to finish you off... however I might spare your lives... if you hand over Straw Hat in return." while they didn't wanted to die, they would never betray their friend and captain. All: "NEVER!" Kuma: "Very well... prepare for the Ursa Shock." said Kuma, before he sends out the attack and a big explosion occurred. Once the explosion was done, Kuma begins to leave, even though he knew that the Straw Hats and their allies were all still alive. Kuma: "I would have expected such loyalty from a man who happens to be your son... Dragon..." said Kuma, as he picks up Moria and vanishes without a trace. Some time later, Luffy and the others were finally awaken. Nami: "Hey... we're all alive?" Chopper: "That was scary..." Conis: "Where's Kuma?" Brook: "I don't see him anywhere..." Franky: "Hey, Moria's gone too... maybe Kuma took him after we passed out." Luffy: "Who's Kuma?" Sanji: "Oh right, you were still out cold when it happened... we had a run in with another warlord that had the powers of a Paw palm human." Luffy: "What?!, that's the most ridicules power I've ever heard." Usopp: "That's what I said, but the way he used it was terrifying." Vivi: "Hmm... I don't know why... but I have this feeling that Kuma was testing us..." Karoo: "Quack?" Su: "Suu?" Robin: "A test for what?" Vivi: "Well... a test for our loyalty over Luffy I think..." Zoro: "But why?" Sanji: "We'll worry about that later, we got work to do, like see if this place has any supplies we can use." Luffy: "Oh yeah!, let's get meat!" Nami: "I call dibs on the treasure!" Lola: "We'll help ya, it's the least we can do for saving us." so with that, the Straw Hats begin searching for food or treasure that's on Thriller Bark, and soon stored them into the Thousand Sunny. Brook: "Hey Sunny... how come you didn't joined us in the battle?" Sunny: "I really wanted to, but I can't go beyond the ship, as a Klabautermann, it's my duty to be the ship's soul and guardian, so I can't leave it, which would be important as someone would try to steal or harm it." Brook: "Ah, that makes sense." said Brook, before Luffy takes a look at some of the treasure that has been collected, and noticed an armband that he liked. Luffy: "Hey Nami, can I have the armband?" Nami: "Sure, it's not worth anything compared to the rest of this treasure." Luffy: "Thanks." said Luffy, before he puts the armband on his arm. It was when Lola gave Nami a piece of paper. Lola: "This is called a Vivre card, which is like a special piece of paper that can only be made in the New World, it can be use to tell you the direction where the other pieces of the paper, though not the distance." Nami: "Whoa... it's moving..." Lola: "Yes, they call it 'Life Paper' for a reason, and you make them from your own fingernail clipping, so it would follow you wherever you go, and they're waterproof and fireproof as well." Luffy: "Hey... I think Ace gave me something like that... but... it's burning a bit." said Luffy, as he noticed that the card that Ace gave him back in Alabasta was burning a little, much to Lola's shock and horror. Lola: "This is indeed a Vivre card... but there's something I haven't told you yet... it also reflects the condition of the owner... does this belonged to someone important to you?" Luffy: "Yeah, it's my big brother's." Lola: "I'm sorry to tell you this... but according to the Vivre card... your brother's life... is in terrible danger right now..." Luffy: "What?" Lola: "That's what the Vivre card is saying right now... but if it gets bigger again, it'll mean he's getting better." Luffy: "Well I'm not too worried, my brother will sure pull through whatever he's going through right now, and he hates to show his weak side, so it's best to let him be for now." Nami: "If you say so..." it wasn't long before Brook begins to play a piano that he found not too long ago, and he was playing a song called Bink's Brew. Brook: "♪Yo, ho, ho, ho~, Yo, ho, ho, ho~♫, ♪Yo, ho, ho, ho~, Yo, ho, ho, ho~♫, ♪gather up all of the crew, it's time to ship a bink's brew♫, ♪sea wind blows to where who knows, the waves will be our guide~♫, ♪over across the ocean's tide, raising sunshine, far and wide♫, ♪birds they sing of cheerful things, in circles passing by~♫, ♪Yo, ho, ho, ho~, Yo, ho, ho, ho~♫, ♪Yo, ho, ho, ho~, Yo, ho, ho, ho~♫." Luffy: "Hey I know that song, Shanks and his crew used to sing that before back when I was a kid." Brook: "No surprise, it's a classic pirate song that's hundreds of years old, and it was the final song my crew and I played before their passing... in fact we recorded it on a Tone dial, see?" said Brook, before he somehow opens up his skull, which freaked out mostly everyone, and then pulls out a Tone dial. Conis: "So... you visited Skypiea before?" Brook: "Yes, a long time ago, and judging by your wings, I'm guessing you're from there?" Conis: "Yes, it was my home before I met Luffy and the others." Brook: "Would you and everyone like to hear the song my crew and I recorded in here?" Luffy: "Sure." said Luffy, before Brook plays is and everyone enjoyed it very much. Usopp: "Wow... that was beautiful..." Brook: "Yes, this tone dial wasn't just recorded for my sake... it's also for Laboon as well... and now that I got my shadow back, I can finally leave the Florian Triangle and fulfill my promise to Laboon... though I doubt that I can do it alone... so does the offer of joining your crew still stand?" Luffy: "Yeah, welcome aboard." it wasn't long before the whole crew cheered with joy now that they got a new member of their out of Brook, who then showed them a wanted poster of himself 50 years ago, which said 'Humming swordsman' Brook, 33,000,000 berries. Soon, the time to depart has finally come, and Lola and Spoil were waving goodbye to the Straw Hats. Lola: "Good bye Nami!, take care, say hi to mama for me!" Nami: "You take care too Lola!, see ya!" said Nami, as the Thousand Sunny uses the Coup Da Burst, which shocked the living skeleton a lot.
