Chapter 35: The Terastallize Training

(Mesagoza, Paldea Region)

*Day 1*

Inside one of the many dorms on the S.S. Harland, Ash's Rotom Phone began sounding an alarm. The ship was sitting peacefully at a port in Mesagoza.

Immediately, Ash got up in a flash, which was unusual since he always overslept through an alarm. But he couldn't get his excitement off the whole trip. Today, he was going to Naranja Academy.

"Come on, Pikachu! We can't be late today!" In a flash, Ash got fully dressed. But underneath his jacket vest, instead of his usual t-shirt he wore, he had on a white shirt and orange necktie that represented Naranja Academy. And, of course, he changed his blue shorts for an orange pair. "Alright, let's go!"

He walks out of his dorm and heads to the deck. When he got there, he saw Callie and Marie dressed in uniforms, too. On their upper half, they wore a little gray academy jacket with a blue sweater and orange necktie underneath. On their lower half, they wore an orange plaid skirt along with long white socks and black shoes on their feet.

Ash thought they looked adorable in their uniforms. "Say, those uniforms really suit you both."

Callie smiled at his comment. "Thanks, we wanted to look our best. So, we kindly asked for uniforms that looked similar to ones we wore in middle school."

"I hear ya, looking your best means something to you. I'm glad they gave me a uniform that fits well with my current outfit."

With that, the kids leave the ship and make their way to Naranja Academy.

"Good luck! I hope you all have fun!" Friede shouted from the ship. "Ah kids, they grow up so fast."

Inside Naranja Academy, the gang stood in an office with Champion Geeta, guided with who looked like the principal of the academy.

"Greetings, Ash, Callie, Marie, it's nice to see you all again. This is the director of Naranja Academy, Clavell." Said Geeta.

Ash happily greeted Director Clavell. "Wow, it's a pleasure to meet you."

"The pleasure is all mine." Said Clavell. "These days, trainers from all over the world are coming here to take the Terastal Program."

"Yeah! I want to learn to Terastallize so my Pokemon and I can get stronger together!"

Geeta approaches the gang, holding a tray with two Tera Orbs. "Well, the key to doing so lies within these Tera Orbs."

"Due to the Terastallize gimmick being the most common to obtain, and also the circumstances on making these Tera Orbs, is the reason why trainers may only use one from approval from Paldea. Now, I believe these Tera Orbs belong to you three." Said Clavell.

Ash took the one on the right. "Wow, I can't believe I'm finally holding a Tera Orb in my hands."

Geeta then turns to the cousins. "Oh yeah, these were our only two Tera Orbs we had at the moment. We're sorry that we couldn't get each of you one."

"No worries! We can share it! Right. Marie?" Callie said as she took the Tera Orb.

"Yeah, we can definitely work with sharing it." Said Marie.

"That's great. We promise we'll give you another when we restock." Said Geeta.

"Now, to have full custody and permitted full use of your Tera Orbs, you all must complete a few tests against a Paldea gym leader." Explained Clavell.

"We get to battle a gym leader?!" Ash said excitingly.

"First is a basic test. Normally, we will assign you one of random, but we decided to pair you with one that was right for you all due to your circumstances. Like Callie and Marie not being trainers, and Ash competing in the World Coronation Series.
