Chapter 39: Tulip's Starfall

After Ash defeated Kofu in his basic test and the World Coronation Series, our heroes arrived back in Naranja Academy. Marie still needed to take her basic test, so they came to ask on the whereabouts of gym leader Tulip.

"Well, we made it back to Naranja Academy." Said Ash. "Now, let's see if Dendra knows where Tulip is."

Before going inside, Callie hands their Tera Orb to Marie. "Here, in case she's here, you'll be ready for your basic test."

"Thanks. I hope I pass." Said Marie.

With that, everyone makes their way towards the entrance hall of Naranja Academy.

"Excuse me! Do you know where Coach Dendra is?" Ash asked the lady on the front desk.

"Why, yes. She's at the school's battle grounds outside." Answered the lady on the front desk. "But I wouldn't go there at the moment. Dendra and a few others are dealing with a situation with some delinquent students."

"Delinquent students? Sounds like she needs our help."

"I'm down with teaching some hooligans a lesson." Said Marie.

Everyone agrees to head to the school's yard to see what is going on, where loud music can be heard throughout the yard. Once outside, they saw Dendra, Rika, and who had to be gym leader Tulip, confronting a group of delinquent students wearing bike helmets.

"Ash?!" Shouted Peonia, who was watching from the sidelines.

"Peonia! What's going on? Who are these people?" Asked Ash.

"Their Team Star, a group of students who like to cause trouble for everyone else at the academy."

Rika of the Elite Four confronted Team Star of the loud music their playing. "Please! We're asking you nicely to turn off the music! You're bothering the other students!"

"Hey, we're just trying to spice things up in this boring heep!" Said one of the three grunts.

Ash approaches Team Star. "If your music is bothering the other students, then the right thing to do is to turn it off!"

"Just who do you think you are, kid?" Said the second grunt. "We'll show you how Team Star does things around here!"

All three grunts send out their Pokemon, clearly wanting to settle this.

"Alright, Pikachu -"

Marie interrupts. "Let me take care of them!"

This surprised Ash. "Really, why?"

Marie turns to Tulip, then turns back to Ash. "To show Tulip, I'm ready for my basic test."

"Alright, their all yours."

Marie pulls out her one Pokeball, then lets out who was inside. "Hattrem, I need you!"

This peaked an interest in Tulip.

"Use Brutal Swing!" Hattrem spins and slams all three Pokemon on the field with its braids. She ends up taking them all down in one hit.

All three grunts were in shock to see all their Pokemon taken down at once by a single attack.

"Who's next!" Shouted Marie as Hattrem was ready for more.

"You'll pay for this!" Shouted the third grunt.

All three grunts return their Pokemon and quickly make their way to the exit.

"Yeah! You showed those troublemakers!" Shouted Dendra.

Tulip approaches Marie. "That was very interesting. What's your name?"

"I'm Marie. I came here looking for you so I can take my basic test." Marie answered.
