Chapter 48: Laboratory Showdown

After a fearsome battle, Shiver had just escaped to the island next door, feeling both sad and frustrated. Breaking down after losing that fight really got her head racing.

"That special weapon that kid used on his partners. The power...." Shiver said as she reminded herself of that fox creature gaining great power after literally turning into a gem. "Just imagine how powerful Master Mega would be if I can apply that special to him."

Suddenly, she hears people talking just ahead. She quietly sneaks up and hides behind a broken-down vehicle, then sees two humans talking to each other, both having these partner-like creatures like the ones that boy had.

"Have you found anything yet, Sidian?" Said Chalce.

"No. So far, these old laboratories contain no clues on any orbs here." Sidian said as his Garganacl stood beside him.

"Wait, that man..." Shiver said in curiosity as she noticed something on the tough looking guy with his building blocks creature. Hanging on his belt was an orb of some sort, the same exact orb that boy used to power up his partner and defeat her. "Yes, my ticket for power..."

Shiver quietly and sneakily get closer, without anyone noticing. Soon, she stood right behind that tough looking guy, hiding behind a boulder. She carefully reaches her hand out and tries to reach for that crystal orb to take for herself, but as she does, she feels someone was right behind her.

"SURPRISE!!!!!" Giada shouted as she gave Shiver a painful hit from her Painbrush, throwing her behind Sidian.

"Well, what do we have here?" Sidian said as he stared at the Octoling on her knees.

"I found this wondering, Octoling, trying to steal your Tera Orb..." Giada said with her signature creepy grin.

"A thief I see." Sidian said as he grabbed one of Shiver's arms and lifted her up like she was nothing. "Now, what to do with you..."

At the junkyard on the fourth island of Alterna, the gang was fighting a swarm of Hairy Octarians who were blocking their way to the next island.

"Yeah! Take em all down!" Brenda shouted as she throwed Little Buddy to take down an Octocopter, then splatting it.

Rider was crushing the Octotroopers near the wall of fuzzy ink. "That's how an S+ ranker does it!"

Before long, all the Fuzzy Octarians had been splatted.

"Brenda, would you please."

With Rider's plead, Brenda throws Little Buddy at the wall of ink covering the pipe to the next island. Little Buddy devours the whole thing in seconds, and the path is all clear.

Before anyone moves, Callie's Rotom Phone starts ringing, and she answers. "Hello?"

"Callie." Marie replied on the phone. "How are you guys doing?"

"We're doing alright. We ended up fighting Shiver, and Ash beat her and her shark. Did Friede arrive with the do hickey we found?"

"We just helped him unload that thing from the ship. We don't know what any of these things are, but Orla is happily playing around with them to see what they are and what they do. Any hoo, please keep contact with us in case something goes down."
