Chapter 44: Bandits of the Splatlands

After a rematch with Octophones to help an Inkling named Finn save his friend's weapons, our heroes now found themselves in a shocking but familiar situation. In the busy city of Splatsville, the gang starred on top of the battle tower. The Great Zapfish had vanished.......again.......for the third time.

"You think that it was DJ Octavio?" Asked Marie.

"Who do you think....." Callie said as she was already having some bad memories coming back to her.

"Well, let's catch him!" Said Ash. "Let's beat him and give back this city's power!"

Suddenly, both Callie and Marie got a notification on their agent communicators, and a display of coordinates are displayed on both their screens.

"Guys, it looks like we got a message from gramps." Said Marie. "It looks like he wants to meet us somewhere."

"Where?" Asked Ash.

Marie checks the pinned location in the coordinates, and it looks like it's in the middle of the desert, not far from Splatsville. "It looks like he wants us to meet in the middle of nowhere, in the desert next to this city."

Soon, Finn approached the cousins offering to help. "Cirrina and I can help you get there. We know almost every part of there since many Inklings and Octolings go there to train for Turf Wars or scavenge for treasures or anything else of value."

"Thanks, but I think we can go ourselves, since this is a private matter for us."

"Trust me, you'll definitely need our help because the desert is also full of bandits because of the whole scavenging for treasure thing." Said Cirrina.

"Bandits?!" Shouted Callie.

"Yeah, they won't even hesitate to steal anything of value from others who are mining their own business and just wandering about."

The cousins thought for a minute. They didn't want to get their new friends involved with their whole situation with the New Squidbeak Splatoon or the conflict with DJ Octavio, but they don't really know anything about the Splatlands, not to mention their warnings of bandits. After giving it a through, they gave a response.

"Alright, you guys really want to help, then so be it." Said Marie.

"Thanks." Said Finn. "There's a train station at the desert, so let's take the train to get there safely."

(Undisclosed Location, Splatsville)

In a hidden location underneath the city, members of the Explorers have set up a temporary hideout to locate more orbs. Right now, they've detected an anomaly deep within the desert of the Splatlands.

"Master Sidian, sir! We've detected a strange anomaly somewhere in the desert." Said a trainer grunt.

"I see." Said Sidian.

Soon, Chalce approaches Sidian. "What's going on here?"

"We're not so sure, but we may have a lead on another orb."

"Alright then. Giada!" Chalce shouted as she called for Giada.

Within seconds, Giada super jumps in front of the other Explorers Admins. The creepy grin on her face gave an unsettling vibe to the trainer grunts and Inkling and Octoling grunts in the room, as usual.
