Chapter 56: Kahuna of Steel

(Malie City, Ula'ula Island)

At a traditional restaurant, Coral was having some late night lunch. Soon, Amethio and Cordelia arrived and noticed Coral happily eating at a table near the window.

"We're have you been?" Asked Amethio. "You missed the whole raid."

"And we ended up succeeding, or should I say, I ended up succeeding without you." Said Cordelia.

"What do you think, I wasn't going to leave Alola without getting my hands on a Z-Crystal." Coral said as she showed both of them her Fairium Z. "And I have one right here!"

"Interesting." Cordelia said as she took out what appeared to be a Sparkling Stone. "While I was assigned to guard the entrance to Po Town before making a surprise attack, I ended up finding this in the dirt."

"Ooh!" Coral shouted as she snatched the Sparkling Stone from Cordelia's hands. "Yes, all that's left now is to turn it into a Z-Ring!"

"Then I highly recommend we meet with the Island Kahuna. We leave for Paldea tomorrow morning for our implementation test." Said Amethio.

(Mount Hokulani, Ula'ula Island)

On the second talest mountain in the Alola Region, our heroes had arrived for Ash's World Coronation Series battle against Kahuna Molayne. Though, they just got back from Poni Island half an hour ago. The moon had just risen in the sky.

"Here we are, the Hokulani Observatory!" Ash shouted.

"Ooh, maybe we can all do a little stargazing together like before!" Callie shouted in excitement.

Soon, Molayne stepped out of the observatory and approached Ash. "Ash, we've been waiting for you."

"Wait, we're having our battle right now?!" Ash shouted in confusion.

"On a beautiful stary night light this, I couldn't resist. Everyone else is already waiting inside."

"Alright, I already got Gengar here, so I can use my new Poisonium Z!" Ash said as he held the Pokeball containing Gengar and lifted his Z-Ring, which already had the Poisonium Z attached to it.

"But Ash, have you even figured out how to make it work?" Said Rotom Dex. "Remember that poison types are ineffective against steel types."

"Hey, if I was able to use the electric type Z-Move against a ground type, then I'm sure I got it under the bag!" Ash teased.

"I see that you've gotten a new Z-Crystal." Molayne said as he showed off his own Z-Ring, with a Steelium Z. "I recently got one of my own, after becoming the new Kahuna of Ula'ula Island. Truth is, this is actually Nanu's Z-Ring."

"Ah, right, didn't Kukui say he retired or something?" Asked Marie.

"Yeah, all he wants is more time for himself, and for Acerola, since he also has his job as a police officer. Sure, he still has many good years ahead of him, but he wanted to make sure to get the best of it." Molayne explained. "After giving his Darkinium Z to Gladion, he then gave his Z-Ring to me, wanting me to be the new Island Kahuna, and Tapu Bulu agreed."

"Wow, now I really want to see how strong you've gotten since we last saw each other!" Ash shouted in excitement.

"Me too, but I must remind you that this isn't a Grand Trial, and I have a little something planned during our battle."

After their showdown with the Explorers, Team Rocket, along with the Octoling Elite Sisters were ready to depart for Melemele Island, as it was time to leave Alola. Their mission here was finished.
