Chapter 28: Tower of the Serpent

(Sky Pillar)

A young girl was just watching the stars with her favorite Pokemon, when all of a sudden the Sky Orb that had been sitting on top of this tower for generations undisturbed had been glowing and flashing for an hour now.

"It's been doing this for over an hour. What could this mean, Aster?" Wondered the girl.

Suddenly, the doors to the roof slammed open, and some menacing looking people appeared.

"See, I told you someone was here guarding it." Coral said with an I told you so look.

"Are you part of the tribe of Draconid people?" Asked Amethio.

She looked at Amethio with a serious glare. "Yes, I am Zinnia, me and my people watch over our sacred grounds left by our ancestors. Why have you trespassed here?"

"Well, we're here to take the Sky Orb, and you will kindly hand it over."

"If you wish to steal something valuable to my tribe, then you'll have to face me!"

"Let's do this."

Back in Lilycove City, everyone was surprised to see Wally had snuck on board the ship.

"Look, kid, you can't just sneak on board our ship. This is the property of the Devon Corp, and it also happens to be our place of residents." Said Friede.

"I'm really sorry, but I just needed to see Ash." Said Wally.

Ash walks towards Wally. "So, Wally, what do you need my help with?"

"Ash, I saw your battle with Lisia. You're in the World Coronation Series like me. Please train me!"

"Slow down there, Wally. Did something happen to you?" Asked May.

"A few days ago, I challenged this trainer named Larry to an official battle. He was so unbelievably strong, even Mega Evolution couldn't win me the battle.... Ever since then, I lost my confidence to battle...." Wally said, looking a little sad.

Ash looked at Wally. He could see the disappointment in his face. "Alright! Doesn't hurt to help someone in need of training."

Everyone made their way to the ship's battlefield. Ash and Wally stood on opposite ends of the field. The girls sat next to the field, ready to observe the training.

"I'm using Gengar! Who's your Pokemon?!"

Wally pulled out a Pokeball and let out what's inside. "This is my partner, Gallade."

Everyone saw that Gallade was wearing a rubber band above its hips, holding a Mega Stone.

*Paldea Trainer Theme plays in Background*

"Gengar, use Shadow Ball!"

"Use Night Slash!" Wally has Gallade cut the Shadow Ball. After the smoke clears, he sees that Gengar had vanished. "Huh?!"

Gengar then reappears from behind Gallade. "Use Ice Punch!"

Gallade is slammed to the ground. Signs of frostbite were showing on Gallade.

"Use Dazzling Gleam!"

"Protect!" Gallade protects itself from Gallade. This was the opening to use their secret weapon. "Alright, Mega Evolve!"
