Chapter 23: A Rookie's Coronation

In the waiting lobby, the cousins were preparing themselves for the finals. They saw the results of the second match and saw their final opponents are Riva and Lumi of the idol band, CoralStar.

"Hey, Marie." Asked Callie.

"Yeah, Callie?" Marie replied.

"Do you think we could do this?"

"Of course. We'll do this together, and if we don't, we'll just work harder and try again. We have the whole season to get all six gem tokens."

After a couple of minutes of talking, Riva and Lumi arrive at the lobby.

"Wow, you actually made it to the finals. But we're the ones who will this showcase, get that crown, and honor our turf of Inkopolis Bay." Said Riva.

"So whatever challenge we'll end up doing, you better give it your all and honor your turf of Inkopolis Plaza." Said Lumi.

"Trust me, we'll definitely show you both what we can do!" Marie said with a confident expression.

"Will our finalists please come to the stage." Said a voice on the mic.

"Well, it looks like it's time."

In the auditorium, Ash was waiting for the final round to begin. As he was sitting with his Pokemon, he saw three Inklings and an Octoling entering his row and approaching him.

"Hey, it's Corey and Olivia, and aren't those Inklings Callie and Marie's agent friends?" Said Ash as recognized them from back when Marie and Pikachu were kidnapped by the Explorers.

"We're late! All because you took too long to do your tentacles!" Hallie said with an irritated expression on her face.

"Hey! A squid gotta look fresh at all times!" Said Gabe, then he turns to Ash. "Anyways, are you that human named Ash?"

"Yeah! I'm glad you remember me!" Said Ash happily. "Aren't you two Gabe and Hallie? The cousins sometimes call you Agent 4 and Agent 3."

"Yup!"

"Hey, Ash! I'm glad you're here with us!" Said Corey.

"Hey, Ash! It's nice to see you and your little friends again!" Olivia said happily. "Anyways, did Callie and Marie make it to the finals?"

"Yep, their facing these idols named Riva and Lumi. Do you know anything about them?"

"RIVA AND LUMI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" All three Inklings shouted.

"You know who they are?"

Hallie looks at Ash with a serious glare. "Inkopolis is home to several of the most talented idols in Inkadia! You already know about Callie and Marie representing Inkopolis Plaza and Pearl and Marina representing Inkopolis Square, then theirs Riva and Lumi representing Inkopolis Bay."

"Their both know for being the most wealthy idols in Inkopolis! I heard that both their families, each owns a company that really upped the fashion and technology of Inkopolis!" Said Gabe.

"Wow, this definitely got interesting!" Ash said as he felt more hiped up about the finals. "Say, you like sit next to me now?"

"Sure."

"Pikachu, Quaxly, Charcadet, you don't mind if they take your seats? I'll let you all sit on my lap or shoulder."

The Pokemon happily relents. They soon take a seat on Ash's lap or shoulder.

Soon, the three Inklings and Octoling take a seat on the seats the Pokemon were sitting a minute ago. As they did, the lights went out, meaning it was time for the final round.
