(Jaxler's POV)

When I first heard that I was going to get a bodyguard, I was mad. When I found out it was going to be a Jedi, I was pissed. Marger knew my strained relationship with the Jedi order since my father passed. I tried everything to get her to leave, ignoring her, getting Kamari to spend time with her and pretty much just boring the shit out of her. But she didn't leave. Instead I'm now stuck with her on a planet while getting chased by people that want me dead. I know that she hates me just as much as I hate her, even if she's right now sleeping on my shoulder. We left the atmosphere a while ago, where we are going I don't know. I'm just praying that it's somewhere safe. I look down on the girl beside me, she's very quiet. I see that her lips are beginning to turn blue.

"Caran?" I shake her gently. "Caran!" She doesn't answer or open her eyes. I lower my head so that my ear is over her mouth. She isn't breathing. "Shit!"

I run my hand over my face, trying to remember what to do in this situation. I've been taught this. Okay, lay her down on the floor. Check her pulse. It's there, but faint. Check her airways, okay they're clear. The only thing left is mouth to mouth. I breathe in before putting my mouth to hers and breathing out. I do it a couple times, nothing happens.

"Please Caran, please," I do it again. "Lora, come back to me." I feel my own pulse beat faster than I'ver ever felt it as hers gets slower. A climb in my throat builds up, I try to swallow it but it doesn't move. After several minutes of attempting to get her breathing back, I sit back in defeat. I just lost her. I lost her. I hide my head in my hands, unable to look at her body.

"You said my name for once," I hear a whisper. Looking up confused I see that her lips are back to her usual pinkish color that reminds me of my favorite pond back home on Iloh. Her eyes are still closed, but at least I know that she is alive.

"Don't get used to it, Caran," I tell her with a scoff, which makes a little smile break out on her face. It feels good to know that she's still breathing, now I don't have to explain to the Jedi Council and her master that she died while trying to save me. The door to the cargo room where we're sitting opens and the friendly man who helped us off the planet comes in.

"We're almost there, I know a place you and your girlfriend can stay while she gets better."

"Oh she's not my- nevermind, thank you," I tell him. He gives me a nod before turning back and walking back into the cockpit. I look back at Lora who is still struggling to even move. As we land I pick her up again and carry her out. We're in a clearing in the middle of a forest. The man points to a cabin and tells me to go and put her down. He opens the door for me and leads me into the one bedroom cabin. I place her down onto the nearby bed and pull the covers over her shivering body before following the man back out.

"Hey, man, thank you for the help," I reach out my hand for him to take.

He shakes it and puts his other hand on top of mine. "Of course. She reminds me of my daughter. Take care of her. There isn't much in this house, but I'll come back in a few days with some things for the two of you."

I'm speechless at his selfless gesture. He pulls away and begins to walk back to his ship. "What's your name?"

He turns back and replies. "My name is Raymond."

We exchange a nod before I watch his ship fly off. I see a stack of wood for the fireplace inside and begin to carry it inside and place it beside the fireplace. I check on Lora every few times and come in with some wood, but she is sleeping peacefully. I'm just checking if she's still breathing. But thankfully she doesn't stop. As the sun goes down, I'm beginning to debate whether or not to wake her up. I decide to just let her sleep and end up making a bed on the floor for myself.
