It's already night on Coruscant. Since I was allowed to go back on mission a few weeks ago, I have been on a total of zero missions. Zero. I don't know if Ahsoka said anything to the council after the briefing, but I trust her enough to not accuse her. I'm just hoping that something will come up and I will finally be able to leave the temple. I've come to find the temple more comforting than ever, but at the same time, it's beginning to feel like a prison.
Another day has gone by with nothing interesting. Master Yoda is a great teacher and I'm thankful to have the opportunity to train under him, but even after a few months, I'm still not over the change from Master Kenobi. I was used to always doing something and almost never having a moment to myself, now I'm lucky if I have more than two conversations a day. I understand that having the Grandmaster as your master is hard work. He has duties my old master didn't. He's carrying the entire Order on his shoulders, teaching younglings, and then on top of that having a padawan.
I look at myself in the mirror as I'm drying my hair. My skin is almost bright red from my third shower today.
A knock on my door pulls me from my thoughts. Luckily my clothes are right beside me, and I quickly pull them on, trying to hide as much of my skin as possible. I throw the towel onto its rack before rushing to open the door.
"Master Kenobi," I say with surprise as I open the door to find him standing and waiting.
"Lora," he greets me with a smile.
I wait for a second to see if he explains his visit, but he doesn't. "What can I help you with?"
"We have a mission." Force, I have missed those words.
I scrunch my face together in confusement. "We?"
"Yes," he nods before crossing his arms. "We are going to Onderon to help train some rebels to defend themselves with Anakin and Ahsoka."
"Oh, I-" I'm not sure what to say. I have barely spoken with Master Kenobi or Skywalker, and since I asked Ahsoka to lie to the council, she has not been entirely happy with me.
He furrows his brows. "Is something wrong?"
"No," I quickly say. "It's just... Nevermind, when do we leave?"
"Well, we're not exactly in a hurry and I can see that your hair is still wet, and I know you hate leaving with wet hair, so in an hour," he tells me. He remembered.
I give a short nod. "Okay, I will meet you..." My voice trails off.
"I'll come and get you," he sends me a smile.
"Right, I'll see you then, Master Kenobi." I close the door quickly. I lean my forehead against it as I take a deep breath. I'm going on a mission again. But it's with the three of them? Oh no. I push my thoughts away and go to dry my hair. Even when the hour is almost up, my hair isn't completely dry yet. Damn I hate my hair. I gather my things to make sure I'm ready to go before I brush through my hair a final time to make sure it's at least not knotted as the mission begins. Another knock on my door.
"I'll be right there," I yell in response as I hook my lightsaber on my belt. I rush to the door as I pull my cloak on and take out the hair that's stuck down my back. I was expecting Master Kenobi like he said, but as I open the door, it's not. "Master Skywalker," I say surprised.
"Lora," he greets me. "Are you ready to go?"
"Yes, I am," I close the door behind me as we begin to leave.
We walk in silence for a while until Master Skywalker breaks it. "So, how have you been doing?"
"I'm surviving," I answer short.
