Author's note

This chapter is about the episode: The Gathering, which is episode 6 of season 5, but I have moved it so it's before the Onderon arc. Just to clear up any confusion.

"I'm sorry, Master, but it just doesn't feel right anymore," I tell Master Yoda as we're standing in the training room. He wanted me to finally train my fighting skills again. But the lightsaber I used before, it just feels wrong now. I don't connect with it like I used to.

"Changed since you built it, you have," Master Yoda walks in a circle around me. "Perhaps a new one, you should build."

I furrow my brows. "How do I do that? I already have my crystal."

"Find another one, you shall," Master Yoda says before turning around and gesturing for me to follow him out of the room. "To Ilum, we shall go." Ilum, I haven't been there since I was a youngling. I remember my first time there. The entire flight there, I was sitting in the cockpit as the rest of the group was in the back, they teased me and I was put in the cockpit to insure my peace. Then inside the tunnels, I saw things that I don't remember now, but back then, it freaked me out. I wonder what it was.

We leave the temple and leave for Ilum. As we're sitting in hyperspace, I pull my knee to my chest and rest my chin on my hand that's supported by the armrest. The blue that surrounds us, goes by quickly, disappearing into the emptiness of the galaxy. I let myself zone out. And by the time I remind myself to get back to reality, I can see the small icy planet out of the window.

"Nervous, are you?" Master Yoda asks me as he wobbles from the room in the back.

I turn my head and look at him. "I guess a little bit."

"What about?" He takes a seat.

I shrug. "Whatever that is in there. I know that there's nothing, but it feels so real. I can't remember what it was the last time, but it freaked me out."

"Only you and your thoughts are in there," Master Yoda reminds me. I nod as I stand and stretch after sitting down for so long before going to get my winter cloak, looking much like my usual one, but it has more warmth and is much thicker. After getting it, I grab Master Yoda's as well before returning to the cockpit and handing it to him. Then sitting back down to land the ship properly. As I press the button to open the hatch, I'm met with a freezing cold wave of air that makes me want to turn around and go back to the temple. But I have no choice but to walk out into the permanent blizzard. I turn back to check if Master Yoda is with me, and it turns out he's right behind me, walking in my footsteps to make it easier for himself. I quietly scoff. We reach the wall of ice that hides the Jedi temple. "Open it, you can yourself," Master Yoda instructs me. Last time I was here, it was me and all the other younglings that did it while getting help from our guide. I don't even remember who it was. Now it's just me. I take a deep breath before raising my hand to the wall and focusing on the force flowing through my body and through the entrance to the Temple. A small victorious smile appears on my face as I hear the crack of ice and as I step back, the door comes into sight. I don't look back before I gratefully step into the Temple that's at least a bit warmer than outside. As we're inside, the door slowly begins to ice itself up again. How does it do that so fast? I guess that's just one of those things within the force that I will never understand. Old Jedi temples never disappoint me. This one is concealed within a wall of stone, but once you're inside, it's a huge room filled with old statues and several floors. The walls have carvings and decorations. Telling stories of great battles, the beginning of the force and everything up until now.
