As Obi-Wan and I are sitting on our couch in silence, just enjoying each of our books, Anakin comes barging into the room.

"Gosh, that looks boring." His face is scrunched up.

"You know, reading makes you smarter, you could benefit from reading one... or many," I tell him as I reach for my bookmark. But before I can place it, Anakin has pulled my book to him and sends me an evil smile as he closes the book. Without any mark of where I reached. "You didn't." I stand up angrily. He runs to the table and stands on the other side. I stand on the other. and every time I make a move to one side, he moves to the other. Giving up, I turn defeatedly to my Master. "Obi-Wan, tell him that wasn't fair."

He looks up from his book with an unimpressed look. "What did he do now?" He sounds like he would rather be anywhere but dealing with our bullshit.

"He closed my book," I whine as Anakin just laughs.

"Anakin, what was the point of coming here?" My Master changes the subject.

"I wanted to tell you I'm going to Anaxes, it could be a long mission," he says.

My Master rubs his beard. "Take Lora with you."

"Okay..." Anakin says. "Any special reason?"

"No." He shakes his head.

"Alright, Lora." He looks at me. "I'll be waiting in the hangar, just meet me there when you're ready."

"Yes," I tell him and he leaves the room. I turn to my Master. "Why do you keep sending me on missions with him?"

He shrugs. "I don't think I do."

"You are a horrible liar, you know that right?"

Sighing, he crosses his arms. "We both know that Anakin has been struggling since Ahsoka left. It's been hard for him to go back in the field without having a padawan to take some of the load. That's why I assign you to help."

"That... makes much sense," I realize. "Well, I should probably get going. I'll see you when we get back, Master."

"May the force be with you both," he says.

I stop in the doorway and smile. "May the force be with you too."

The fighting on Anaxes have dragged on for longer than we ever thought it would. Master Windu was assigned as well, but every single one of us are growing more and more tired for every battle. Our hold is simply slipping away, out of our control.

"The droids have overrun our main production facility," Master Windu says as he points to the holomap in front of us. "It won't be long before the Separatists take Anaxes, compromising our entire reserve fleet."

We all look to the side as Cody and Rex walks closer. "Pardon the interruption, General, but Rex here has a good theory on why we keep, uh... losing," Cody says.

"Please, Captain," Master Windu tells him.

"The droid army uses analytics to predict our strategy. The first time we use a tactic, it's very effective. The next, less so. In fact, the more we use a certain tactic, the less effective it becomes. They learn our tendencies and use that data against us. To counter them, we're constantly working out ways to vary our attack."

"But the losses we are experiencing on Anaxes are not commonplace," Master Windu points out.

Rex nods. "Exactly. The counter attacks are so specific, it's my strategy the droids know, my playbook."
