Distraction

"1..2..3.." seungkwan clapped to start the game. we played rock paper scissors and joshua won. he chose to serve first. i kept my eyes fixed on the ball, but his face kept distracting me in my peripheral view. i gulped as his arms flexed. 

thankfully i was chosen for a game i could play. table tennis was something i had played many times before. for a while i did really good, joshua tried many tricks but i kept being in the lead. until.. 

"match point, whoever scores first wins." seungkwan announced and the seventeen members started cheering joshua's name as if he was a politician.

joshua tilted his head and bit his bottom lip which was unnecessarily hot. his eyes locked on mine and i realized i was caught staring at his lips. he flashed an innocent smile and looked at me with bambi eyes. he didn't look away and held eye contact. my attention was on his soft eyes and gentle smile when he sent the ball flying sneakily.

i was flustered as cheers erupted suddenly. i felt my cheeks get hot as i realized what just happened. joshua winked at me before hugging jeonghan who was hopping with excitement.

"someone was really distracted." seungkwan teased me when we were in the artist lounge after the shoot. 

"shut up." i rolled my eyes. 

"you were really different today." hoshi told me. "it was nice to see you laugh and have fun like a normal person."

i blinked in confusion. "is that a compliment?"

hoshi opened his mouth but didn't say anything for a few seconds. "i ... guess?" 

i forced a smile. "thankyou .... i guess" i mimicked his tone and he laughed awkwardly.

"arin aren't you going to thank me for choosing you?" jeonghan asked innocently. 

"thankyou for making me into a fool?" i sulked. 

"you were a cute fool." he laughed loud as  i shot a glare at him. 

"so you think i am a fool?" 

"why are you focusing on that? i said you were cute too." he argued as if he was a lawyer. "arin you need to be more optimistic in life. you can't always focus on negative things." i was taken aback as he started scolding me. 

"promise me you will only look at the bright side from now." he offered his little finger. i looked between his finger and face in confusion. he looked so serious. i locked my finger against his slowly. he smiled warmly. "good." jeonghan said as he patted my head and left leaving me perplexed.

did he just gaslight me into thinking it's good to be called a cute fool?

i saw joshua enter after removing his makeup and immediately turned to leave.

"arin" joshua called behind me.

shit.

i turned around flashing the friendliest smile i can. "yeah?" 

instead of answering he walked closer, stopping a few steps away. he leaned his head forward to look me into the eyes and an angelic smile appeared on his face. 

"sorry for distracting you." he said softly. 

i couldn't tell if he was mocking me or not with his innocent tone and cute face. 

"i wasn't distracted" i denied.

he gasped dramatically. "oh you weren't?" he pouted as he seemed to think something. 

he tilted his head playfully and locked his big eyes on me once again. his gaze shifted to my lips and i unconsciously bit my bottom lip. his lips curled into an amused smirk. 

i realized what i did and panicked. "i should leave now." i said as i bowed lightly. i heard him giggle as i waddled away.

:o Cookie : after they started dating, jeonghan got sulky because arin beat him in table tennis even though he removed his jacket to distract her.
