Falling for u

Past:

there used to be a time when joshua and jeonghan were one of my best friends. our dynamic relied heavily on them teasing me and me getting sulky only to be teased again.

but it was fun.

as long as it lasted anyway.

the day things started changing was when jeonghan suggested we go to an amusement park. we went their on the middle of day on a work day and the sun was terrible enough to keep intelligent people away.

thank god we are dumb.

"we need to take a pic on that bridge." jeonghan pointed at an arched wooden bridge. he pushed me towards one side of the bridge and asked me to pose for a picture.

both of them were standing on the opposite side as far from me as possible.

"aren't you too far?" i asked jeonghan who was holding his phone as if he was recording a video.

"no you look good" joshua reassured.

i brushed away my paranoia and smiled, all of a sudden a large wave of water crashed over my head as a water ride passed by. i could hear jeonghan and joshua laugh hard as i stood there, water dipping from head to toes and jaw hanging open in shock.

"it looks so good in slow motion." jeonghan commented while rewatching the video.

"that's so mean i am wet!" he ran away giggling as i tried to hit him. 

joshua offered his jacket to me as i sulked in a corner still soaking wet. "i am not cold" i said with a pout.

"you shouldn't wear hot pink under white."

it took a few seconds for my brain to start braining.

i gasped and snatched the jacket from joshua's hands and they were laughing at me again. 

song arin stop embarrassing yourself.

"let's ride the roller coaster again." jeonghan suggested after a while. we were sitting on a bench tired from the day.

"i am going to catch a cold. i am wet you know? thanks to someone."

"you are welcome darling. shua?"

"i am too dizzy" joshua said and jeonghan pouted grumpily. 

"fine i will go alone. take care of my donald duck here." jeonghan told shua as i sneezed again.

after jeonghan waddled away joshua patted my back.

"we tease you too much don't we?" he said softly.

"too much? not really. you just left me behind in the haunted house, tricked me into eating wasabi flavored candy and then drowned me in water."

he chuckled as i recounted the incidents of that day.

"you are cute" joshua poked my cheek as he said so and i gave him my meanest death glare in response.

"i only tease my friends." joshua said randomly after a few minutes, looking straight ahead towards the rides. he turned to me suddenly and a suspicious smile appeared on his face.

"i won't tease you if you aren't just my friend." 

before i could reply jeonghan came back and tapped my shoulder. i was still too speechless to say anything as my brain and low self esteem fought to decide the meaning of that one sentence.

i looked up at jeonghan and he was holding a cup of hot chocolate. i forgot that i was mad at him for earlier and grinned happily.

"thankyou~"

"where's mine?" joshua asked as jeonghan sat between me and him. 

"get your own. i am tireddd" jeonghan leaned his head on my shoulder. "i need arinergy."

i knew he was acting cute just so i would stop sulking and he can tease me again but it was working. he was too adorable to resist.

"today was fun." i said as jeonghan took my hand and interlocked our fingers. i looked at joshua and we exchanged a sweet smile before turning our gaze towards the pink and purple sunset.

i knew it would be a memorable sunset.

because that was the moment i fell in love for the first time.

but it wasn't jeonghan i fell for.
