Holden's POV

As the clock struck 7:45 in the evening, we made our way to Evergreen Hotel to meet with Don Salvador. My two brothers and I were accompanied by seven of our most trusted men: Vince, Ivan, Clay, Bruce, Cole, Elliot, and Karl. We also had an additional ten men stationed inside our house and the rest guarding the perimeter. Earlier that night, I had given instructions for Eriola not to leave the house, so she could safe.

Yesterday, the hotel manager informed us that Salvador had given him instructions to allow his guests immediate access to the penthouse upon arrival. A chuckle escaped me as I thought about Salvador eagerly awaiting Eriola's arrival, when in reality it would be me that appeared before him. I was eagerly anticipating the moment when he realized his plan had failed. We pulled up to the hotel entrance, my brother Alexander, who was driving our SUV, glanced at me through the rearview mirror.

"Are you ready for this, Holden?" My brother asked, his voice low and tense. I looked up at him from the SUV's passenger seat and flashed a confident smile. Before responding, I reached into my pocket and pulled out a cigar, lighting it with a flick of my lighter.

I inhale deeply and keep the smoke in my lungs for a few seconds before speaking. With the cigar between my fingers, I say, "I'm more than ready. Let's finish this job so I can get back to my pregnant woman." I exhaled a cloud of smoke as I opened the car door and stepped out onto the street. Our other two SUVs were parked nearby, our men waiting inside. But no one moved until I gave the signal.

I walked towards the entrance of the hotel, flanked by my brothers Nicholas on my left and Alexander on my right. Our team of Vince, Ivan, Clay, Bruce, Cole Elliot, and Karl followed close behind us in perfect formation. We were a well-oiled machine and we wouldn't back down from Don Salvador. I extinguish my cigar before entering the hotel, out of respect for their rules.

Once inside the lobby, I caught the eye of the Hotel manager who gave me a subtle nod. We already had the penthouse room number thanks to our sources - this was going to be an easy job. No bloodshed tonight, but I was here to have a man-to-man talk with Don Salvador. The elevator ride up to the penthouse feels endless, the silence only disturbed by the soft jazz music playing from the speakers.

My fingers tap restlessly against the steel railing, anticipation making my heart pound in my chest. Salvador will not see it coming. The thought of that makes a wicked grin pull at my lips. We reach the top floor, the doors slide open revealing a dimly lit corridor leading to a massive door at the end. That's where Salvador is waiting, expecting a submissive Eriola while death himself is walking his way.

We exit the elevator, my thoughts immediately turn to Eriola, my dear little cupcake. I'm grateful that she informed me about this meeting, because if she had come alone, who knows what could have happened. My main responsibility is to protect her, our daughter, and the new life growing inside of her - my child

"Boss," Vince whispers behind me, reminding me of our mission. I nod without tearing my eyes away from that door. Goddamn Salvador! I want to murder that stupid fuck, but I'm here now. Suddenly, we're there in front of the grand door carved with intricate designs that mean nothing to me right now.

Just before I push the doorbell, my brothers and I exchange a final glance, our guns at the ready. We were prepared for anything that might happen. With a silent nod, we both know we are on the same page. As the doorbell rings, the faint sound of muffled voices can be heard from behind the door.

After what feels like an eternity, the door swings open to reveal a tall, muscular man with a scar running down his left cheek. He gives us a quick once-over before speaking in a low, menacing growl.
