Archie's POV
After the party ended and everyone left for the night, I retreated to my study to unwind. In hindsight, I realize how poorly I behaved in front of our friends and family, especially towards my sons and their chosen partners. It was unfair of me to judge them based on their relationship choices.
As I sit at my desk, I take out a photo of my true love, Dorinda Francis Thornecraft. She was stunning with her mahogany skin, ample breasts, and toned buttocks. And those honey brown eyes...just thinking about her makes me aroused even now. But I never wanted to disrupt her life by pursuing her.
Our families forbid us from being together due to the racism of that time, so we had to let each other go. I was forced to marry Victoria for the sake of a business merger with her family. Looking back now, I can understand my son's perspective. While I do love Victoria and appreciate her loyalty to me despite my past mistakes and bitterness, I haven't always been the best husband to her.
Yet, she gave me three wonderful sons and always stood by my side. I owe her everything and it breaks my heart to see her cry. I need to make things right not just with her, but also with my sons and their partners. Holden is soon going to become a father with his wife Eriola, who is a kind and lovely woman that I hold no grudges against me.
Seeing my son so happy only makes me want him to keep that happiness forever. Steadying my nerves, I stand up and leave my office, heading upstairs to our bedroom where Victoria is resting. She looks beautiful as ever, and I have come to realize that I must let go of any lingering feelings for Dorinda if I want what's best for my family.
Crawling into bed next to her, I gently caress her shoulder, waking her up. "Victoria," I say softly, "I'm sorry for my behavior tonight. I was wrong to throw such a fit over the women that our son's chose to date. It's time I stop living in the past and accept the changes happening around us. I love you, and I want to make things right between us."
As she turned to face me in the bed, I could see that Victoria believed me. Her voice was barely a whisper as she spoke my name. "Archie," she said. "You remind me so much of our son when you was younger. I remember how you were in love with Dorinda back then, but our fathers forced us into marriage instead. It's been 39 years since then, but here we are now. Tell me, do you truly love me or are you still in love with Dorinda? I need to know, because if your heart still belongs to her, I can't bear any more pain." Victoria's words were punctuated by sobs.
I gathered her in my arms, holding her close to me."Victoria, my heart has always been yours. Yes, I admit Dorinda was a part of my past, but she's long gone and you are my present and future. I love you and only you. You are the one I want to grow old with."
I hugged her tightly in return, my wife's shoulders trembled with a sense of relief. She was crying into my chest, and I could feel her sadness radiating from her body. "I need you to speak to our sons and their partners," she said through tears, "and apologize for what you said. You need to tell them about your past, Archie. We can't risk losing our son because of your racist comments. I want to be able to see our grandchildren in the future." Her words struck me deeply.
"You're right, my love," I whispered as I gently stroked her back.
"I will apologize to them all and speak with them about Dorinda. Our past should no longer be a secret." We lay there for hours, holding each other close, our bodies entwined as we reminisced about better times. I vowed to myself that I would make things right with our sons and their partners. I owed it to my wife, and to the future of our family.
Holden's POV
It's been a few days since the party at our parents' house, and now it's Thursday afternoon. My wife and I are at our wedding planner's office, discussing the details of our upcoming grand wedding. Our daughter Anya is with us, playing with my tie as I sit beside her. While I'm preoccupied with Anya, I hear my wife call my name. "Holden, did you hear me?" she asks.
