Holden's POV

The monstrous bully had the audacity to call me after unleashing his now-deceased men upon us. "Holden Sterling, how did you enjoy my lovely wedding present?" He sneered through the phone, the sound of gritted teeth and heavy breathing filling the line. The arrogance of this man was astounding. "I hear you're married now to my 'property'. Eriola belongs to me, and I'm coming to claim her." His voice dripped with possessiveness and malice.

This delusional brute actually believed he could take my wife from me. "Salvador, you are a deluded fool. If Eriola truly belonged to you, why would you send attackers to harm me and my family, knowing she was in our home? For a supposed mafia boss, you sure lack intelligence. Just know that I will not hesitate to end your life." My words were laced with fury as I hung up the phone, seething at the thought of someone trying to steal my beloved wife from me.

I knelt down in front of the man, his hands bound with zip ties. "Where is Salvador?" I growled, my tone leaving no room for lies. "If you lie to me, I'll kill you on the spot."

The man's eyes bulged in terror as he shook his head vigorously. "I-I don't know! He moves around a lot. He has a dozen safe houses across Paris and Tuscany Italy. I swear, Holden, I don't know which one he's in!" His voice quavered, spittle flying from his mouth as he pleaded for his life.

I stared into his terrified eyes, contemplating my next move. I couldn't risk letting him go and jeopardize Eriola's safety. I inquired of the man, "Do you happen to know the whereabouts of each safe house and its inhabitants in Italy?" My voice was cold and calculated, leaving no room for deception.

The man swallowed thickly, realizing that his life hung in the balance of his answer. "I-I know some of them," he stuttered, fear in his voice. "B-but I swear, I don't know which one he's in right now!"

Eriola's safety was my top priority, and I couldn't risk her life by trusting the word of a mobster. "Tell me what you know, or I promise you'll spend your last moments on this earth begging for death." I allowed my anger and determination to protect my family to seep into my voice.

The man's eyes widened, and he knew I meant every word. Nervously, he began to list the locations of each safe house, their security measures, and the number of men stationed at each one. "Please, Holden, I've told you everything I know," he pleaded, his voice trembling with fear.

Without an ounce of remorse I stood up, my decision made. If this man knew about the safe houses, he couldn't be allowed to warn Salvador and put Eriola in more danger. I swiftly pulled the trigger and shot the man in the head, at point blank range. I signaled for my men to bring over the other guy, and there he was: Salvador's son.

I immediately recognized that idiot from our previous meeting."Oh, it's you, Natale Moretti," I sneered. "Where is your father, you useless piece of shit?"

Natale, terrified, began to stutter incoherently, but I had no time for his bullshit. "I-I-I don't know!" he blubbered, his eyes darting around the room.

I firmly grasped his collar and struck him hard in the face with the handle of my gun. "I'll ask you again," I snarled. "You're no better than your useless father. Now, tell me where he is." I made it clear that I wasn't in the mood for games.

Natale's eyes watered up, but he remained silent. I threw him back onto the ground, frustrated. If he wouldn't talk, I knew how to get what I wanted. I reached for my cellphone and called the number that Salvador had used to call me.

He picked up after two rings, and I could hear the smugness in his voice when he said, "Holden, you've called me back to negotiate a deal."

Starting my bluff, I spoke confidently into the phone. "Salvador, I'm reaching out about your son. He's here with me and seems eager to share everything he knows. How about we meet tomorrow night at 10pm at our warehouse location, 13 Rue de l'Industrie, 75010 Paris, France?"
