jamie admitted to rain that he had sent the message she had seen him draft to his dad. he admitted it before he went to see him. turns out he was in rehab and trying to better himself.

the pair agreed that jamie should go on his own to bridge that gap.

mainly because rain had her own battles to fight, she was in the midst of yet another court case, this one against oscar. each time she gave evidence, each time she was cross-examined, she could see jamie, sam, colin, skye, rebecca and keeley there for her, to support her. and she appreciated it more than words could describe. the whole team would have been there if they hadn't sat down and discussed that all of them may have been overwhelming or frightening for her. instead, the team sent their love every time they knew she had to see the man again. they wanted to know how loved she was, despite what oscar wanted her to believe.

rebecca had bumped into the man she had met in amsterdam again at the airport when she went to say goodbye to ted.

rain was ecstatic to see her relationship with him blossom and was even happier when she found out he had a child and rebecca finally had the chance to be a mother if things went well.

rain threw herself onto her bed, heels from court still on, jamie right behind her.

he pulled her heels off for her, "how long left?"

"i don't know." she let out a groan, turning over so she could see him. "not long, hopefully."

jamie sat down beside her, staring ahead, lost in thought.

rain sat up, placing her chin on his shoulder, "you okay baby?"

"move in with me?"

she knew the conversation would come back up again, so she was ready. at least that's what she told herself.

"what?"

okay, maybe she wasn't prepared.

"i'm here all the time, i want to move in with you rain. i love you and i want to spend the rest of my life with you and i think moving in is the first step."

she nodded rapidly, turning his head so their noses were touching, "yes. move in with me. if you want to live here."

"i do."

"i have a spare room as well, in case you want your own room as well," she told.

"god, i love you."

"i love you."

---

rain was happy, happier than she had been... ever. jamie and his dad were reconnecting, even to the point where he had taken her to see him, the man instantly apologising for his behaviour.

trent had published his book. keeley had worked with rebecca and rain to make the women's team more than the vague idea it had been when she had first promoted the woman.

it was an official thing. they had a manager and coaches, who rain met with almost every day to fill their team.

so, rebecca and keeley were sat with rain as she explained everything that was happening.

"oh, and would you two be willing to help jamie move in to mine this weekend?" she asked, closing the folder she had with all the plans.

"what?" keeley asked.

rain glanced between the pair, both with similar shocked looks on their faces, "jamie's moving in and he has a lot of stuff. we need help moving it all in."

keeley and rebecca squealed, making rain jump. keeley dived towards her, smothering her in a hug, "this is so exciting."

rain squealed this time, "it is." keeley climbed off of her. "he said he wanted to marry me. he was drunk but then he said he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me when he asked about moving in."

"that man is obsessed with you," rebecca voiced. "and i can see why."

"thanks rebecca."

---

jamie and rain had decided to have a bbq the day jamie moved in as a thank you to everyone who helped (the entire team).

jamie was beside rain, helping her grill the food, beer in hand. he'd traded in his usual longer sleeves for a short-sleeved top, showing off his tattoos that rain fucking loved so much.

"what can i do, baby?" he asked, kissing her bare shoulder.

she smiled up at him, "stand there an look pretty?"

"i wanna help."

"trust me babes, standing there, arms out, is help enough," she told, eyes tracing his tattoos.

he took the spatula from her, moving her to the side, "stop being horny, you know i can't resist ya and we're surrounded by people."

she rolled her eyes, "just cook the burgers. i'm going to talk to rebecca and keeley."

"wait," he spoke, grabbing her hand and pulling her back towards him. "i love you."

she pecked his lips, "i love you. what's this all about?"

he shrugged, "i'm just proud of ya."

she smiled brightly, "i'm proud of you too."

he glanced around, "if we add a goal to the garden our kids can play football anytime they-"

she shoved him lightly, "a few years, jamie. i'm not popping out a mini you anytime soon."

"i'd wanna be married first anyway," he revealed.

she stared at him wide eyed, "really?"

he nodded, "yeah." he saw her panicked look. "i'm not proposing, don't worry, we've only been together a year."

she nodded, "okay."

"but that doesn't mean we can't practice for later," he spoke, his tone suggestive.

she hit his arm, "we have friends round. later."

"later."

she let him go back to the bbq, making her way towards keeley and rebecca, the pair smiling brightly at her, drinks in hand. they pulled a drink from the ice box beside them, holding it out to rain.

she took the drink, letting herself fall into the chair beside them. she looked around, her garden had never had so many people in it.

for the first time in a long time, she was happy, truly and unapologetically.
