Heatwave finds out the truth, which breaks him forever.

It was a wonderful surprise.

It was a miracle that Heatwave had survived despite what had happened to him, leading him to basically be stuck in quarantine until they knew it was absolutely safe for him to be on his own in the outside world of Cybertron.

Today, Starlight brought him outside for the first time. it was really only the outside area designated for patients in the medical bay if they wished to get out of the room but it was still something, it was the first time being out of the room. Heatwave did have to be brought out with some medical equipment, yet that was only a safety precaution.

"wow." Heatwave was truly shocked by what he was seeing, it was like it came from stories almost. "There is so much!"

"I know, it is quite lovely isn't it?" she held his little servo as they walked along the pathway, seeing the many different things that grew in the area.

"yeah!" He seemed so excited to be seeing all of this, a young bot experiencing something completely new.

They manage to get to a bench, Starlight helping the little one take a seat as she grabs something within the atmosphere that is around them. She sits herself next to him on the bench, holding something in her servos as if it was the most precious thing in the entire planet and a single wrong move could break it.

"What is that?" he asks, looking at it with such curiosity since he has never seen anything like it before.

"this is a Safroniale Bowestra." She slowly starts to place it in the little servos of the bot, planning to explain. "it is the rarest beauty to ever be found on Cybertron, a symbol for connection. when a bot gives it to you, it is telling you that the one who gifted it is happy to have the receiver of it in their lives."

"That sounds sweet." Heatwave knew he was happy Starlight was caring for him, it really meant a lot to his young spark.

"some bots who find it give it to their companions, and I bet you'll have a bot give it to you for that reason when you are much older." she tells him. "but you, you are like the son I never had."

that makes Heatwave think for a moment, planning to ask a question he has only thought of at this very moment.

"My creators, I've never seen them before." He says to her. "When are they coming to get me?"

she paused, basically frozen in place. It could easily be seen that Heatwave was only asking out of curiosity, but she really didn't want to tell him the truth because it would be devastating to hear. He probably had thought that all this time, his creators were out there waiting for him, but that wasn't a possibility.

"They ain't coming for you." Starlight looks, seeing one of the medics who simply came out to check up on them. "and now you are our problem."

"why would you tell him that?" She questions, getting up to confront the mech before them, she clearly did not seem impressed. "he is too young to learn such a thing."

"we have been monitoring him for awhile now, and with how he's doing he can be let go here soon." he states. "somebot was going to have to tell him at some point."

"yeah, and it might be better to tell him then." She was absolutely done, done with this disrespect. She knew it was time to bring Heatwave back inside. "Heatwave, don't listen to him-HEATWAVE!"

he was seizing on the bench, leading to an entire panic to exactly what had caused it to happen in the first place. The little bot was quickly brought inside and given help, and all that thought of being let go was now clearly a vision that was gone for now.

It didn't take long to stabilize him, but it was very noticeable that something was wrong. The medics couldn't figure out what happened and Starlight couldn't get any words out of him. Heatwave was just silent now, and no bot knew why.

Starlight felt like she had to start all over again to try and help this little bot, and she was willing to do anything to help him recover.
