Blades seems to notice the pattern, Ratchet does not.

Blades was noticing the pattern for the past two lunar cycles.

Blades has been doing a bit of searching on his own, which made him fully understand the scenario. Heatwave would have a nightmare then mysteriously run away during the night, leaving Ratchet to find him right at the medical bay super lost and a bit confused. with his own searches, Blades knew why, but Ratchet didn't seem to get it.

Blades has told him why Heatwave was running off, but Ratchet told him that he didn't understand what he was talking about and that he would understand it more when he was older.

with Blades noticing the pattern, he knew exactly when Heatwave was going to run off again. the information he had was correct, meaning he was going to stop Heatwave before he ran off again so Ratchet didn't have to try and find him once more.

That night, Blades waited a bit before asking Heatwave to sleep in his room, which the red bot nodded as a reply. It did not take too long before it ended up happening, which made Blades awake when he felt a sudden push and a loud thud.

"Heatwave?" Blades was still trying to comprehend exactly what was going on now as he was slowly waking from his recharge.

Heatwave was trying to open the window, but with Blades' knowledge, he had made sure to have it locked up so Heatwave couldn't leave. Heatwave tried the door right afterwards, but Blades also made sure to have a doorstop at the bottom to prevent him from getting out so fast.

When Blades did finally get himself up, he found Heatwave in the corner of the room, curled up into a ball as he was rocking back and forth. He seemed to be in much distress, full of fear, staring at Blades as if he was a stranger.

"Heatwave?" Blades didn't really know what to do, he hadn't actually thought that far ahead regarding his idea.

Ratchet eventually managed to get into the room, seeing the sight before him. Heatwave was still quite panicked upon the presence of the two bots, looking like he was ready to scream very loudly.

"Heatwave, we aren't going to hurt you." Ratchet slowly gets closer to the young red bot, knowing he is in distress.

Heatwave slowly warmed up to the presence in the room, being able to relax a bit and even letting Ratchet hold him. Ratchet was still quite confused as to why Heatwave reacted the way he just did, but nevertheless, he turned to Blades.

"He has a spark break." those were the only words Blades really had to say regarding what happened.

Heatwave opened his chest plates, Ratchet seeing the dull spark that happened to lie within the young frame. He never saw such a thing within a young bot like Heatwave, but he could tell it was quite the suffering to his life. A spark break is when a spark is damaged mentally, causing weird affects to the memory and making one forget things.

Heatwave did eventually close up his chest plates, falling into recharge as Ratchet was still holding him. Ratchet did apologize to Blades with everything and made sure to get him to recharge as well, letting the night be peaceful as it should've been before.
