Although they were picking the academies they wanted to go to, they still had to graduate from the one they were at. they still had to finish out some of their classes, one which they all found to be rather difficult.
Each student was required to do a Straphonious, using an 'instrument' and playing it to tell a story while supposedly 'dancing'. this was often used to tell older stories from Cybertron's history, which is continued to many bots in the present. There were three different instruments, the Rocolus (looks like a flute, pretty much a saxophone), Demoftion (a weird hollowed drum), and a Viasonee (two stacked cords, but shaped like a violin).
Blades played the Rocolus, which was the one which most bots tended to play as it was the easiest one to handle. Boulder picked out the Demoftion, which he really only plays sitting because it is rather heavy and takes much coordination and timing. Chase had also picked the Demoftion, debating between that and the Viasonee, but realized that it was too difficult to learn. Heatwave picked the Viasonee, the instrument which Starlight had also played, but it was rather difficult due to the two layers of cord.
overall, they all found it extremely difficult to perform the full bit of what had to be learned. the movements and sound were too random from one another, which do explain more of their unique culture. however, none of them could go back from their choices, so if they couldn't handle it, they were doomed to fail.
After the class, they didn't have to learn it again. everyone pretty much put it into storage and planned to never see it again, there wasn't really much time to do it anyway with how busy they would all be at their chosen academy.
