Chase didn't realize how much his own past currently is affecting him.

HE didn't understand what was wrong.

He had his academies listed, all the ones he wanted to go to in order and made sure to have all the requirements needed. He made sure to send in his application, hoping to learn from the Academy because he wanted to be a law enforcer, but there was no response.

He did try again, but still nothing. He decided to go through the list he had, sending what he had but finding no response at all. There was a point where he felt like he was giving up, until he did get a response, one which was for an interview, which is required for some academies. He did that one but he wasn't given a response back despite thinking he did pretty well.

He went through most of his list, which had seven back-ups to the one he wanted. He felt like he was doomed for being at his last one, but he knew he could easily nail this interview and get the placement.

When he went for it, things seemed to go well, things were gone over and there was much discussion between Chase and the one who was there. Chase knew his good grades, plans for the future and other skills made him well suited for such a placement in law enforcement, so he only wanted to hear that yes that he has been looking for.

"Your grades are definitely pleasing as well as your interaction with us was something not dreadful." The Mech spoke, Chase calmly listening, and just waiting for what the response would be. "But my answer is no."

silence entered the room so fast, time almost freezing into place. Chase seemed to not understand what was wrong, everything was right, what could possibly even be the issue they had with him?

"I understand that you find this interaction to be rather pleasant but may I at least know why you will not accept me?" Chase questions, wanting to know what was wrong. "Did I forget to add something or-"

"you did not forget anything. it's just, with where you come from, that isn't the best place to put forth a law enforcer." Chase noticed a dark circle on his file, which pointed out who his real creators were. "We cannot have young criminals with us."

"I can assure you I am not a criminal, in fact, I haven't seen them in a very long time-" Chase tries to argue, but a servo goes up to silence him.

"We cannot have this sort of background in such a pristine academy, not even in the law enforcement area." Chase can already feel that sad feeling, one which happened when he was not getting any letters back when he applied.

"And I will repeat myself, I have never talked or seen my creators in a very long time-"

"that may be the case but we simply cannot risk it." Chase would've frowned if he wasn't in public right now. "We are not having the risk of being compromised with you."

"I guess I will head out then." Chase grabs the last of what he brought and goes to leave, somewhat feeling as if his entire life was a lie.

"Before you go, I have one thing to tell you that you should know." Chase stops in the doorway, turning around to see what in the world could even be said now.

"With where you come from, there is a big chance no academy out there will ever accept you, no matter what you apply for." Those words stung, like something sharp quickly stabbed him with no effort.

Chase did not respond, but quickly headed out of there before he could burst into tears.

It wasn't fair.
