After a bit of searching, it turned out that the engine malfunctioned and glitched out so badly it pretty much did the self-destruct sequence on most of the ship. Even though that was the case, it was beyond repair and the team was going to have to get a full on replacement, which was told to not be ready until they graduated.
they weren't allowed to borrow another force's ship in the meantime, meaning none of them would do and round patrols around Cybertron. This actually messed up a lot of things for everyone in their year and led to an entire assembly to get the matters fixed and handled appropriately.
The deal was not hard to figure out and logically made the most sense due to the circumstances, which was agreed by all. The teams would pretty much hand over all their ground patrols of the city to the team since they need some sort of outside experience, and the spaceship part of their patrols would be exempt from their finals for graduation. Sure, it sounded like a pretty good deal but the team realized that they were pretty much going to have nothing else to do once they were done cleaning the space which held their original ship.
This exact moment ended up leading to enormous boredom for the group and they could really only count down the days until they graduated in order to see their spaceship, Arcane 2.0.
