Ratchet knew Orion would be better at trying to locate Heatwave than Ratchet was, after all, he needed to fill out the only request Starlight had given to him. When he got there, he had found out much more than what he thought he needed.
it surprised Ratchet that his blabbering friend Orion Pax could keep such a giant thing secret for as long as he did, and it was only truly not make-believe when he fully was told the story and shown the proof for it. There were multiple things that did not make sense when he looked at the bot too, so it just left him even more lost.
Apparently Orion had been housing an entire bot in his home, which sounded fine at first but when Ratchet met the bot, he seriously regretted multiple things. based on the looks he was seeing and not to mention the build, he looked older than both him and Orion.
Orion did mention multitudes of what has been done for the bot in the past but still, he can barely try to comprehend why Orion decided to do this. he only wanted one thing that day, to find Heatwave because he literally hasn't found anything in forever, and this is what he gets.
Ratchet knew he was going to see more of this bot anyway so it didn't hurt much to know him, and he found out that he was somewhat still in school (not fully, red flag for Ratchet), has a Cyberdog named Servo (the name is another red flag), and his name sounds like it was given to him by a drunk bot (again, a red flag).
Honestly, Ratchet is not a fan of Hightide.
