Layla sat on the swing by the glass wall, where the coffee chairs and table previously occupied.
She redid the place after she gave birth which is where she sat and lay countless times when breastfeeding Rawda. The swing chair is more comfortable which is why she put two side by side with a table at the middle facing outside.
She has a book and a pen in each hand as she lean in to one side of the chair, confused, dumbfounded and most importantly shocked.
The image from this evening is crystal clear in her head. She has never imagined that's how they're going to meet.
She knew one way or the other, they're doing to meet one day and whether on a good or bad circumstances it will happen but she never imagined it to be like this.
She was caught off guard, too stunned and dumbfounded really, seeing Nabila didn't warrant her being there with Jawad, so she wasn't worried not until she saw him.
Her mind flash back to the awkward ride with Abdulazeez. While she took her time to absorb the shock of seeing him there, apparently Abdulazeez was sulking, like a child whom was denied his favorite toy cause she can't call his actions any other thing.
All the while, Rawda sitted at the back seat innocently playing with her tab.
In summary, they ended up having a huge fight when he demanded why she was acting as if she has seeing a ghost, in his words shouldn't have she ignore Jawad like he had?
That's when Layla realize, Abdulazeez know something that she doesn't cause until today she has never talked about what happened between them with anyone at all talkless of Abdulazeez.
He went to the extend of taunting her, telling her he was there for her, he stayed through her depression after she gave birth to Rawda until she got better.
And that's the only reason why Layla feel like he owns her which he is not aware of, but that still didn't stop her from telling him that there nothing between them and there will never be anything between them when he dropped her off.
Layla took a deep breath sitting straight on the swing. She glanced at the book in her grip as her hand shook. She sighed for the umpteenth time looking outside with her hand under her chin now.
She wanted to write, write anything at all especially what she feels but nothing is coming, rather than words or emotions she is just numb.
Even her brain refuse to function well. All that she keeps thinking and remembering is the way he looked.
He wasn't surprised or fazed that she was there, apart from that every other thing is blank. She couldn't get a single emotion from him.
After Jawad left abruptly like that without an explanation she did manage to gather the piece of her life once more, for the child living inside her body cause after all, the wellbeing of that child depends on her wellbeing.
So she pushed on and pushed through, ignoring every other thing and worked hard, harder than she has ever worked her entire life. And it helped, at least then, it helped her forget about herself and her problem, focusing only on the life that depends on her.
And she used all her money, all her salary to make sure she brought the most beautiful and expensive thing for her baby girl.
But as soon as she gave birth even before the naming ceremony, she slip and broke.
She became depressed and at some point she lost her will to live. Having Shuraim at her side was her biggest blessing cause if not for him she can't fathom what life could have being like.
