THE NEXT MORNING
Beep beep beep
I lay there ignoring the alarm because the thought of going to work was horrible.
"Derek are you going to get up?" She asked
"Yea just give me a minute" I said before I jumped up and into the shower then getting ready
"So I was thinking of taking you for lunch today at the little cafe down the street from the hospital" I said putting on my shoes
"Yea sounds like a good idea what about I meet you in your office at 12:30"
"Sounds like a plan but I better get going I'll see you later I love you"
"I love you too bye" she said leaning in for a kiss
When I got outside Alex was standing beating the front of his car shouting at it
"Karev what are you doing" I asked putting my stuff in the car
"This heap of junk won't work" he said beating it more
"Karev get in and I'll give you a lift there and back"
"Ok thanks" he said hopping in
The journey consisted on talking about the Seahawks and the NBA and stuff until Alex realised something
"How do you know what time I got off" he asked
"Dude I decide what time the attending's get off and you've been working late the past few weeks so I thought I'd give you a break" I replied
"Thanks so would you like to join me and Mer for a drink tonight we go to the bar every Friday night"
"Yea sure"
We arrived at work and I headed up to my office and was greeted by Addison and Pete
"Hello your right on time" I said
i talked to Pete and looked through the budgeting notes for staff and I turned out I could employ him and he was very enthusiastic but when I came to Addison I still couldn't make up my mind we needed a new OB so I could hire her but I don't know.
"Addison how would you like a job" I asked
"I would love a job thank you Derek when can we start" she said as Meredith came in
"Hey am I interrupting" she said happily
"No Meredith your not this is Pete and ehm Addison there the new doctors here" I replied
"Nice to meet you.......are you Derek's ex?"
"Yes I am" she said shaking her hand
"Well Meredith and I are currently dating but Addison the fact that you and pete are a couple you need to keep your relationship private for a few weeks just so it doesn't seem like I felt sorry for one of you so I employed the other one and you know what I mean so if you want to start Monday is that ok?"
"I understand and yes Monday's fine I'll see you then" she said grabbing Pete's hand then walking away
"You ready to go" Mer said
"Yes I am lets go" I said replacing my lab coat for a coat
"So Addison and Pete seems nice"
"Yea give it time" I replied
"Derek I love the speed we're going at but would you like to move in with me and I know that we've only been dating almost 2 weeks but I love you so much and......."
"Meredith your rambling and yes" I said kissing her then taking her hand and walking towards the car.
