"I love being here with you Mer" I said rubbing my thumb over her hand as we approached the beach her not knowing I had a surprise
"Me too Derek I'm glad we came" she replied
"No Mer you don't understand I love being here so much I thought we'd make it very special" I said stopping her before turning the corner
"Wait what" she said before I took her hand and turned the corner to reveal all our closest friends and family standing on the beach
"Meredith I want to marry you here today" I said
"Oh my god Derek I would love to marry you today" she said hugging me
Later on that day
"Dude are you sure you want to do this I can have you at a gentlemen's club in 10 minutes flat" mark said jokingly
"No I want to do this but thanks anyway" I replied shaking his hand
"My boy look at you" my mom said walking in
"Hey mom"
"Your father would be proud that you've found the girl of your dreams"
"I just wish he was here" I replied starting to get a tad emotional
"He is Derek he's always here" she said hugging me then walking out
1 hour later
As I was standing at the top of the aisle I heard the band start playing and Meredith started walking down in her small tight white dress and I started to think about how lucky I was to find her and before I knew it Alex was handing her off to me.
"You look beautiful" I whispered into her ears and she smiled
5 minutes later
"Do you have vows" the man asked
"No because I didn't know about this wedding" she replied
"So we'll skip then" he said
"No wait I'm the one who knew about it and I have something to say" I said taking her hands
"Meredith when I took the job in Seattle I never thought i would meet the girl of my dreams there too and when I took the job in New York I missed you so much.....sorry Spence" I said turning to tell her in the front row
"But when I came back I was glad to see your face again.....Meredith girls like you come once in a life time and I'm going to try my absolute best to keep you happy and in my life forever I love you" I said looking into her tear filled eyes
"I love you too Derek" she replied
"We'll do you take Meredith Grey to be your wife"
"I do"
"And do you take Derek Shepherd to be your husband"
"I do"
"Well I am happy to say that I now pronounce you husband and wife....you may no kiss your bride" he said as I pulled Meredith in for a very long kiss while everyone cheered
